Happy Sunday, peeps! Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess, and it's time for a color challenge:
I really love blue and yellow together, so I just used a wee bit of the gray for a frame...here we go:
I gave lots of stamp sets some love for my card today! I really haven't had time to seriously play with the Ornate Style set, but even if you don't color it in, it's still a beautiful set! I stamped the large floral image on my Whisper White base in So Saffron, and to give it some depth, added some of the "smudge"images from Label Me Bold. I layered a Stitched Nested Label frame in Gray Granite on top of it, and perched a sweet little watercolored bird from Free as a Bird on it! To achieve the paler gray outline, I used Basic Gray ink and stamped off once. It works well with watercoloring and almost is the same color as Gray Granite when stamped off! My sentiment is from Honey Bee, diecut with a Smooth Sailing die, and the little Seaside Spray sprigs are from Nature's Thoughts dies:
I added some some speckles from Itty Bitty Backgrounds (ret) and scattered a couple of pale yellow sequins from my stash around it to finish it off! I'll probably use this as a thank you card or a birthday card....we'll have to wait and see! For my sketch, I used the Freshly Made Sketches sketch by Jacquie for this week:
I hope you'll find some inspiration on the Paper Players blog and play along with us this week! We always love to see what you create! And be sure to check out my other Easter post...there's a cute video there made by the kids at our church...Cassidy is on it too! You can see it here. Hopefully it will work!
Cassidy dyed some eggs yesterday--some eggs were colored with traditional dyes and others were colored with "color whip"!!! It reminded me of the shaving cream technique that was popular a while back! Dana had to whip the cream, then the colors were swirled into it; here's Wayne, giving it a go:
I think the more you swirled, the "muddier" it got, LOL! Good thing she had a glove on!
The end result?!! Oh. My. Goodness.....not very pretty! But once they wiped off the cream, they looked a little better!
They're all pretty, though!
Thanks for popping in today...enjoy your day and be blessed!

Happy Easter! Beautiful card...love the frame in the center. Looks like some fun Easter eggs!
Love the eggs and the pics of your beautiful granddaughter. I haven't been off to watch the video yet. I miss coloring eggs so I might just have to invest in the Color Whip next year. I have everything I need to make your fabulous card EXCEPT for the Hello. I just love the H on it. It's amazing how many things you used and they all fit so well together...but then there's the clean up...lol! Happy Resurrection Day to you and your family.
This color palette is gorgeous, LeAnne! The colors and images make me think of a French country farmhouse. Thanks for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
This card is absolutely stunning! I love every detail and especially the colors! It's a beautiful take on the sketch and so perfect for spring. Looks like Cassidy had fun with the eggs and so glad they looked wonderful after removing the cream! LOL Happy Easter Monday, I hope your Easter Sunday was a good one!
What a beauty, LeAnne! I adore how you used the gray frame with the tone on tone flowers behind it. It is a perfect backdrop for your sweet bird. I may need to case this! Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

This is one gorgeous card with the pretty yellow flowers framed in gray, the blue sprig and a bird! And what a beauty of an bird she is! Congrats on a well deserved win at FMS!
I love this card LeAnne! A wonderful combination of sets and I especially like the way you used the large flower image as a single colour background. haven't used my nesting dies in ages and your card reminds me I should dig them out. Sweet addition of the bird too! This is a great take on this week's colours.
LeAnne, this is gorgeous. I love how you used the grey. The bird on the frame is the perfect finishing touch. Just stunning.
Hugs
Jaydee
