TS107 and CASCSC367 Inlaid Roses

Hi folks, happy Wednesday!  You must be gentle with me today....I attempted an inlaid card with the rose border die from the new Ornate Borders set....it is certainly a test of one's patience!  So here we go:

The CAS Colours & Sketches challenge this week is to use some soon-to-be-retiring In Colors:

I had the white outline die already cut out, so I thought I would try to fill it in with the Pineapple Punch and Call Me Clover pieces....the leaves were easy to match up; the little rose pieces, not so much!  I will keep at it, though!  This was just my first attempt!  I ran two lines of Sticky Strip down the Blueberry Bushel DSP, laid the white piece on top, then fit the smaller pieces in.  I did have to add some glue on a few of them to keep them in place!

And since The Spot's challenge this week is birthdays:

I added a sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays along with my last little piece of Call Me Clover ribbon:

I will be sad to see Blueberry Bushel and Call Me Clover retire....Pineapple Punch, not so much!  LOL, I had ONE piece of cardstock left and I had to use part of it to just cut out these little pieces!!!  Yellow is just not one of my go-to colors!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Pandemic?  What pandemic?!  Oh, to be like a pup!

I think you did a great job...I don't think I'd have the patience and would be all thumbs! Eden does look quite content. I won't miss too many of the In Colors leaving except for Grapefruit Grove.

What a wonderful card, LeAnne! I like all the retiring In Colors but must say Pineapple Punch I used the least. Eden is so snugly sweet. Love that pinch of tongue sticking out! Our Jake dog does that too. So funny.

LeAnne - Very nice card although I'm not sure it is CAS, HA! :). Too much work for me! I'd just put one solid color behind cause I like FAST! This card likely qualifies for you making a few cards today!!

Absolutely bowled over by this one LeAnne - and admire your patience! The inlaying really does create a stunning effect and the colours are amazing together. Funny, they never really grabbed me seen in the catalogue but I love them in combination like this. Vicky x

How beautiful LeAnne! The piecing into that border is awesome and looks like a lot of work but definitely worth it! Oh and how adorable is that Pup! Thank you so much for joining us at The Spot this week!

Love this - the paper piecing is a great way to incorporate these lovely bright colours and having tried it, can confirm it’s not for the faint hearted! My top tips would be back your cardstock with an adhesive sheet first to make glueing easier and definitely use a take-your-pick type tool. Ive decided when I do my next one I might try press-and-seal too as a means to keep the pieces together! These dies work so well for this - I’m sure this won’t be the last time you have a go! As for that sweet puppy - oh to have a dog’s life!
