FMS187 and CCMC356 Wedding

Happy Friday, peeps!  Yay, the holiday weekend is here!  Tomorrow should be a nice day for the annual Memorial Day parade in which John always participates!  Can’t wait!  Meanwhile, I have a wedding card for you today, using the Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

as well as the colors from Create with Connie & Mary’s challenge this week:

And here we go:

I stamped the big flower from Flower Patch and cut the outer petals off, then used the matching die to cut out a flower from Soft Sky cardstock and embossed it with the Decorative Dots EF.  I heat embossed a sentiment from Remember This on a scrap of vellum in Rich Razzleberry (because I got my colors mixed up) and made it into a little banner.  The Moonlight DSP was perfect for my little panel which was diecut with the Apothecary Accents dies; I used some Neutral glimmer brads and silver glimmer paper as well:

And MDS downloads will be ending soon, I made a couple of purchases yesterday and used this for the inside…again, I used Rich Razzleberry because I have a sieve brain and can’t remember what color I am supposed to use….but it’s still pretty:

Happy Thursday, everyone!  The week is winding down….hope you’re having a good one.  I haven’t made a Christmas card lately, and I know come December, I’ll be scrambling!  The Merry Monday challenge this week is to create a card with a non-evergreen tree:

I also wanted to participate in the Kraft Journal’s Anything Goes-Vintage challenge, so I pulled out a pretty scene from an Artistic Outpost set called Midwinter and stamped it in Always Artichoke on some really, really old SU DSP:

I had some pretty maroon paper that was a gift, and I stamped some of the words from a Stampendous Christmas Background at the bottom:

and to finish it off, I stamped a sentiment from a Cornish Heritage Farm set called The Fir Tree:

I added a Neutral glimmer brad and some burlap twine for a rustic look.  I added some Wink of Stella glimmer to all the snowy areas, but you’ll have to take my word for how pretty it looks, as it is invisible in the photo!  Another card added to my stash!

Cassidy had her “official” pre-school graduation yesterday; her preschool class was in a local high school, and she was taught by Early Childhood Education sophomores, juniors and seniors who are considering being teachers in the future.  It’s a great program, the children get lots of attention and the teacher who is in charge does a great job of mentoring the “peer tutors”, as they are called, as well as the preschoolers themselves!  They shared some artwork, a couple songs and they recited a poem.  I will admit to a couple of tears while watching them!  So I will share a few pix today and the rest of the week too:

TSSC363 Adventure Awaits Graduation

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I had some fun stamping time yesterday and I made this graduation card for a customer order…it uses Mary Jo’s Technostamper sketch:

I know this is a rather non-traditional graduation card, but my customer said she didn’t have any color preference, so I chose some SAB paper I had laying around and pulled out Adventure Awaits….I think these sentiments are perfect for a graduate:

I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede on an oval of Whisper White,  then stamped the banner in Calypso Coral on a scrap and cut it out.  It looked a little bare, so I had an “aha” moment and decided to stamp the sunburst from Kinda Eclectic in Soft Suede on the background, then popped up the banner with a couple of dimensionals…I love the effect!  I added a little border and some sequins from a Paper Pumpkin kit for some sparkle!

I recently won a Misti from Lydia at Understand Blue and I have had a lot of fun learning how to use it and practicing with it!  THANKS, LYDIA!  I am overwhelmed with gratefulness, as I really wanted one after seeing all the glowing reports in blogland!  So here is one of my tries for the inside of my grad card….I had cut this graduation stamp apart so I could use it separately and of course, now I wanted to use it together…the Misti helped me line it up and I was able to line up the overstamped sentiment from Guy Greetings perfectly too!  Woohoo!

Cassidy began playing with my new In Color pads and reinkers—”these are PEOPLE lining up to do gymnastics, Grammy”—and before I knew it, she had ALL my reinkers lined up in rows.  We had to count them (there were over 60) and then of course, guess who had to put them all away because she can’t read?!  Oh well, she had fun and it kept her occupied for a few minutes, LOL!

CYCI#70 Friendly Wishes

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I have actually been stamping, just not enough time to blog and comment, but I think things will be a little less hectic this week!  Keeping my fingers crossed!  I am sure all moms out there are feeling the end-of-the-year rush!

I wanted to stamp a couple things for my club girls to show them the new In Colors….I have to admit I am not crazy about all of them, but I do love Mint Macaron….it reminds me of Sage Shadow, and I probably cried actual tears when SU retired that color, so I am happy to have it around to play with:

I made this about 15 minutes before my club girls arrived…nothing like waiting until the last minute!  I randomly stamped the little flowers from Friendly Wishes in Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe on some Very Vanilla cardstock, then used a blender pen to fill in the flowers.  I added some of that lovely new Dotted Lace Trim and tied it with Linen Thread:

The sentiment is also stamped in Tip Top Taupe (don’t you just love that name?).  Easy and so pretty together!  Since I used those flowers, I am entering this in the Can You Case It challenge this week, which is May Flowers!

We finally got some rain, and Cassidy wanted to walk outside to visit Grampy in the garage, so she put up my (broken) umbrella in the kitchen…good thing I am not superstitious!

Later she ditched the umbrella and just played in the puddles!  That’s my girl!

Paper Players 245

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Hope you’re having a great weekend!  Jaydee is our hostess at the Paper Players today and she’s got a clean and simple challenge for us today!  Check it out:

This card is probably a bit more elaborate than my typical “clean and simple” card, which usually tends to be one layer, but I really wanted to use some of my new goodies, and the sketch from Create with Connie & Mary fit my plan!  Here’s the sketch:

New goodies that I used were:  Watermelon Wonder & Cucumber Crush inks, Friendly Wishes stamp set, Cherry on Top DSP and Cotton Paper and Watermelon Wonder cardstock!

I cut rectangles of the Cherry on Top DSP and stacked them up, embellishing them with a wee strip of the Cotton paper in Cucumber Crush….it’s a very thin paper, heavier than tissue paper, but very flexible and fun to use!  My “thx” diecut is from the Circle Card thinlet, and I hand-cut the hearts out.  Embossing is with Decorative Dots EF!

Cassidy’s last day of preschool was Wednesday, although she will have a  “graduation” ceremony  this week!  Dana put these two photos together of the first and last days…..how quickly they grow up!

Sand Between Her Toes CYCI69

I loved the sketch from Can You Case It this week:

but I realized I was running out of time!  So here’s a quick card using the sketch as well as the Free for All 273 challenge at Splitcoaststampers, which I haven’t played in forever!  The theme is “Sand between Your Toes” and I had the perfect Artistic Outpost set for it:

I used some retired Baked Brown Sugar textured cardstock along with Very Vanilla textured cardstock, stamped the background images in Soft Sky and stamped the bathing beauty in Soft Suede:

I love how the textured cardstock gives it an even more vintage feel!  I stamped some shells as the bottom, added my sentiment and some burlap and baker’s twine trim!  Hope you like it!

Happy Friday, peeps!  The end of a loooong week for me!  I haven’t felt too crafty, even with new stamps in the house, but I did force myself to break open a couple new things just so I could show you some of the goodies in the upcoming catalog!  I am using the Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

I guess my proportions are a little off, I hope they don’t kick me out, LOL!  I used some new DSP:  Cherry on Top; a new Ronald McDonald House stamp set, Sprinkles of Life; and some new In Colors ink, Watermelon Wonder and Delightful Dijon.  Here we go:

Who wouldn’t love an ice cream cone and sprinkles for their birthday?!  I did a little shading on the cone, added some glitter on the ice cream, and my sentiment was diecut with the Itty Bitty Banners die:

I also added a vellum-centered scalloped circle in Island Indigo, just for fun and I stamped the birthday sentiment repeatedly on the Soft Sky panel

A fun sketch, fun papers and a fun set!
