MH900287430

Yippee!  All the winners for the Color Throwdown 100th Celebration have been chosen!  You can check the CTD blog for a complete listing of all the prizes and the lucky winners!  So here are the details:

  • It is up to YOU to contact CTD—since some entries had no email address, you will be responsible for contact.
  • Winners have until Monday, July 19th at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time to respond and collect their prize.
  • To claim your prize, email Tammy at:  colorthrowdown@yahoo.com
  • To help her keep everything straight, in the subject line of the email, put the DESIGNER’s name and the prize you’ve won!

So, for instance, HARRIET SKELLY, who won my prize, would put LeAnne/SU Stuff on her email!!! WOOHOO!  Congrats to Harriet!  You can see her submission here

Again, thank you SO much to all the designers, the companies and individuals who donated goodies and thanks to YOU, our stamping friends, for making this such a wonderful, fun hop!  Most of all, though, I want to thank Tammy!!! She put her heart and soul into this, as well as a lot of time and energy, and still had to work and be a wife & mom!!!  Take a minute to stop by and thank her too!

Color Throwdown 101

DSCF8577

Wow, the CTD team is exhausted!  You stampers out there really gave this challenge your ALL!!!  I know you can’t wait to know who won what, and all the info will be posted on the CTD blog by Friday (hopefully!).  Meanwhile, the challenges go on…..and this week our hostess is Laura!  She has REALLY challenged me with her color combo:

 swatch 101

Isn’t this a snazzy group of colors?  I recently purchased some Unity stamps, so I thought this would be a fun time to get them inky!  They are a little different than my normal style but I need to experiment with “looks” that stretch my creativity (or lack there0f)!  So here we go:

DSCF8576

These little love birds do make me smile!!!  They are stamped on Confetti White and colored with an aquapainter and ink, then cut out and popped up on the Kraft card.  My sentiment panel was zigzag stitched and has some little embellishments here and there; the Top Note panel is from the retired Night & Day DP collection.  That was my last corduroy Baja Breeze button, too….so sad!  But I did finally get my new toys from SU yesterday, so I have lots of cool things to play with now!

So why don’t you come play along with us?  All the details are on the CTD blog, and there you will also find the InLinkz doodad by which to link your project!  Here’s a listing of all the designers if you want to check out their work:

Thanks for visiting today!!!

ColourQ41

Ooh, lala!! Wait until you see the bold color inspiration Arielle has chosen this week! I immediately ran to my fabric cupboard when I saw this:

cqc41

I knew I had some black and hot pink felt, along with a piece of gray heather wool that I picked up at a yard sale for a dime!! I pulled out some dies and went to work:

Again this week, not much stamping (hangs head low)….but with the impact this flower makes, you don’t need much! I used the scraps from the flowers to diecut some additional little circles and blinged everything up!!! The card base is Pretty in Pink, the mat is SU’s retired Bride’s DP. Dies used were Nestie Blossom and SU’s Flower Layer 3. The little pink center is from the Sweet Pea felt flowers from the last mini! “Sweet” is from the PTI Cupcake Collection! I purposely left the inside blank, so that I could use this as the occasion arose! I just found out that this also qualifies for the Flourishes FTTC75, which is to use felt!

Now pop on over to the ColourQ blog to see what the Royal Court created this week!! You can also click on the blinkie on the sidebar! Come on and play along with us!!! You could be queen for a week! :D

More Vintage

DSCF8544

Okay, while I am STILL waiting for my SU stuff to come in, I am STILL making cards with Newsprint DP because that’s the only current SU DP I have….I didn’t realize how dependent I am on designer paper!!!  Oh dear.  Anyway, I don’t have anything challenge-related today to share, just a card I made for a special person (or two):

I took the opportunity to do a little pleated ribbon thingy after reading Ann Schach’s blog post here.  So fun, although my heart was pounding at the thought of all the glue dots I was using…the Scottish in me, I guess….but we KNOW we can buy more, right?!  Silly me!  Here’s a close up of the ribbon, which is layered on top of a Cherry Cobbler mat which was wheeled with the Friendly Words jumbo wheel:

The mat was also punched with the Scallop Trim punch; the fan image is from Puns from the Past.   My order will arrive tomorrow so I can show you something NEW!

Remember that TONIGHT at the stroke of midnight, well, technically, 11:59, the Color Throwdown 100th Challenge celebration will end, as will all the other giveaways!  So if you haven’t commented or participated, there is still a little time!  Don’t forget to make sure you include your email address if you comment on mine here so you can be contacted.  The winners will all be announced on the CTD blog at a future date….I’ll keep you posted!

Paper Players Color Challenge 6

CC2

Happy Sunday to everyone!  Today, Lesley has a color challenge for us….aren’t these flowers lovely?  I chose Tart and Tangy to make a cute strawberry card with these:

I used my SU Square Scallop diecut to cut a piece of folded Rose Red cardstock just within the fold line to make a pretty scalloped card.  My strawberries are all “sugared” up with some Dazzling Diamonds glitter too:

Mmm, I wish I had some right now!  My little runners are made from a thin strip of Certainly Celery cardstock twirled around a stylus, then attached with a mini glue dot on the back.

Stop by the Always Playing with Paper blog to see what the other designers made today, and play along with us!  You might be chosen as the Guest Designer!!!  Have a blessed day and thanks for visiting!
