IB78 & Mojo 296 Get Well

DSCF5525

TGIF, peeps!  Do you have some special plans for the weekend?  I think it will be a rainy one here, so I will just chill and enjoy being home!  I found a super fun inspiration photo at Inspired By, and I just loved these colors:

OOooeeee, I wish I had one of these radios…any of them!  I matched the colors up with the Mojo Monday sketch to make this beach-themed creation:

DSCF5528

This card is a wee bit smaller than a regular A4 size, as I had a piece of Coastal Cabana that was a bit shy of 4 x 5 1/4”, so I just adjusted my base so I wouldn’t have to cut into a brand new piece!!!  I stamped a cheesecloth image in Very Vanilla ink (it almost looks 3-dimensional!):

DSCF5530

and stamped some seashore images in Coastal Cabana, Blushing Bride and Crisp Cantaloupe, using my nesties to cut out the circles.  I added a piece of Natural ribbon and a little strip of embossed Crisp Cantaloupe for my vertical embellishments.

DSCF5523

My Teeny Tiny Wishes sentiment was punched out with the new Artisan Label punch…love the look of that!  Finally, with some hesitation, I opened my sewing machine to stitch some wonky stitching around the edges.  It is no worse the wear after falling on my toe, although the on-off switch is not making a good connection…..good thing for masking tape!  I guess I will have to take it to the repair shop after all!  And as for my toe…it has a nice ring of black around the toenail…..which will probably be falling off sometime in the future.  ICK!

If you have any questions about anything I used in the card, please feel free to email me!

Cassidy has discovered picture puzzles and she loves putting them together over and over again!  Recently she figured out she could assemble them without the base, and she was quite happy with herself!:

Happy Thursday, everyone!  How can it be Thursday already?!  I had a few free minutes to stamp yesterday, so I made a thank-you card for a customer using Rita’s  Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

Rita always has wonderful sketches!  I just love this new Strawberry Slush color featured on this particular Quatrefancy DP:

DSCF5495

I mixed it with a couple of the other new In Colors, Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe, to make my 4 1/4” square card.  The banners were stamped with images from Mosaic Madness, and the circular element is from A Round Array and Mosaic Madness.  The bird image is from Animal Talk!  And of course, the inside features the corresponding sentiment:

DSCF5498

A perfect sentiment for a sweet customer!

We are all suffering from spring colds and allergies, Cassidy included.  Plus, we are all trying to “encourage” her to potty train!  After a particularly trying morning, and a little 15-minute meltdown, I took her out for a swing because it was just too nice of a day to stay inside.  We didn’t make it too long:

I took her out, rocked her on the porch rocker for about two minutes and she was out like a light!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  You know how you have that “letdown” after a big event….Christmas, wedding, birth….that’s sort of how I felt yesterday after saying goodbye to my college roommates!  I had some photos printed for them and thought I would make a couple of cards to go with them, using some current sketches.  The first one is the Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch:

I recently got some new papers, so I did some random stamping with some sentiment stamps on this plaid background, then added my focal image, stamped in Melon Mambo:

DSCF5482

A little embossed mat and some organdy flowers finished off this simple card.

The next one (I made two of these) uses the I {heart} sketches sketch:

Sketch021

I flipped this sketch on its side and made it a standard A4 size:

DSCF5480

I used the same images and sentiments, but different colors and papers!  It’s fun to see how different a card can be when you change the elements!

I miss my friends already!  I hope they enjoy these cards!  If you have any questions about them, please be sure to send me an email!

ColourQ 192 Celebration

DSCF5470

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Arielle has a fabulous color inspiration for us all today:

I went a little crazy with some punches and embossing folders:

LeAnne_CQC192

I lined them up, glued them down and added a little row of dots and a sentiment!  Here’s a closeup of some of the 1” embossed squares:

DSCF5477

I think this is a wonderful graphic inspiration, so I hope you’ll play along too!  These colors could be used for masculine or feminine themes….so use your imagination and share it with us!  You can see all the other fabulous creations at the ColourQ blog! And if you have any questions about anything, please be sure to send me an email!

Yesterday, while chatting with one of my customers, a mama skunk and four little babies meandered across my yard, in broad daylight!  By the time I ran back in the house to get my camera, they had made it to the trash cans behind our shed:

Then she herded them back out into the yard:

DSCF5463

She pushed them with her nose and her tail while they bobbled all around her:

DSCF5467

And finally they all went into the field:

DSCF5468

We were dumbfounded!  I have seen skunks in our yard at dusk and evening, but NEVER in broad daylight.  They were probably five feet behind my friend!!!  Never a dull moment, living in the country!

Merry Monday 165

DSCF5365

Happy Monday, peeps!  I have been having a wonderful time with my college roommates….so wonderful, I almost forgot to post this!  I haven’t laughed so hard in a long, long time!  But anyway, it’s time for Lesley’s Merry Monday challenge, and here is your sketch:

I finally broke into my hoarded CTMH papers for today’s card, pairing it with some retired SU paper from last year’s Sale-a-bration:

MM65-LeAnne

To make it “match” a bit more, I added a swirl in craft white and then overstamped it with the Linen BG stamp.  I also used the Linen stamp on my banner as well as the Little Leaves diecut.  A few beige pearls were all I needed to complete my simple card!

DSCF5366

I hope you’ll play along with the sketch and increase your Christmas card stash!  We can’t wait to see what you create! You can see all the samples at Lesley’s blog, Always Playing with Paper!

Dana brought Cassidy over to meet my roommates:

Paper Players 148

DSCF5362

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Happy June!   How is your weekend going?  I am pre-posting this, so I am hoping that I am having a fabulous time with my three college roommates, despite the fact that I did break my toe on Thursday night!  Yikes!  You don’t know how much you rely on a body part until it doesn’t work right!   Anyway, Jaydee has a perfectly-timed theme challenge for us at the Paper Players, because the temps here in PA have been positively summer-like:

Nothing says “summer” to me more than the beach, so I pulled out a beachy set from my stash and started stampin’!

PP148-LeAnne

I used Daffodil Delight and Crisp Cantaloupe for my shell and starfish,

DSCF5360

dying some white seam binding to match for my scrunchy bow!

DSCF5361

A little embossing and some corduroy buttons, and it was done.  I used last week’s RetroSketches sketch and the color challenge from this week’s Catered Crop, which is yellow!  These colors together make me happy!  And remember, if you have any questions, please send me an email…my address is at the top right section of my blog!

Now, what speaks “summer” to you?  Maybe it’s a color combo, an image or even a photo for a scrapbook layout!  Please share your creation with us at the Paper Players so we can enjoy it too!  And while you’re there, be sure to check out the summery creations the other designers have come up with!

Did you know that a plastic container makes a good “car” for all your Fisher Price people?

Hey, summer could mean “road trip”!!!!
