Happy Friday, everyone! Yay the weekend is upon us! I decided to try the technique challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, which is embossed vellum.
I have had mixed success with dry embossing vellum, and heat embossing usually warps my vellum too much for my liking! But I decided to go for both, using an embossing folder called Snowy Village from Nellie's Choice and a Christmas set from SU called Hope and Peace. I used the new Azure Afternoon ink and paper as well! So here we go:
I added some Wink of Stella for sparkle, and gave it a Basic White frame, cut with the Stitched Reactangle dies. Then I decided to GO FOR the heat embossing! And it really worked well this time:
The vellum really softens the color of the cardstock; here's the inside, using the other piece from the rectangle diecut and you can see what a bright color it is:
I do love my blue hues, so this will probably be getting a lot of use this summer! Thanks for visiting today; enjoy it and be blessed!

Such a beautiful card, LeAnne! I am not much of a fan of embossing vellum either due to it warping but wowzers, this turned out great! Maybe I need to rethink that technique! Love how you painted more white ink on the roofs! The vellum really does soften the color of cardstock! Love it! :)

Leanne, this is gorgeous. So Serene. I love it. Perfect vellum on the blue. What a great idea with brushing the white over the entire embossing village and more white on the roofs. You knocked this one out of the park.
Wow! This card is just gorgeous. I love how you painted on snow. I gave trouble with vellum also. Maybe I just need more practive.

I totally relate to your struggles with vellum so I tend to avoid it but you've used it perfectly here. What a beautiful, peaceful scene you created!!
