PP571 Merry Color Challenge

Hi there peeps!  It's time for the LAST Paper Players challenge of the year!  We all need a wee bit of a break around this time, don't we?  I am the hostess for this challenge and I still have Christmas-card-making on my brain, so here's the palette I chose for our color challenge:

I am also playing with Freshly Made Sketches this week:

because I've had this Stitched Evergreen Cutouts die for a long time and I think I've only used it once!  So here we go:

I started with a Very Vanilla card base and added a mat embossed with the Timeworn Type embossing folder.  Then I diecut my Merry Merlot panel and added some gold glimmer paper behind the trees.  It looked a little plain, so I ran it through a Softly Falling embossing folder.  It STILL looked too plain, so I did some faux stitching at the top and bottom of the panel, then added another strip of gold glimmer paper....better!  My bottom panel was a piece of Shaded Spruce DSP.  For my sentiment, I diecut a "merry" from a SSS die, and finally, I added some diecut stars and I was happy!

I've pretty much sent out all my cards, but it's always nice to get a head-start on next year's!!!

What will you do with these colors?  I hope you can find some time in your busy schedules to pop in and create something! Check out what the Design Team did over at the Paper Players, then share yours with us too!  And we'll see you again in 2022!

Two of the best Christmas gifts I could get this year is knowing this guy, my nephew Will, graduated from a grueling Army Ranger Training:

AND I just found his cousin, my niece, and her husband are going to have a baby in June!  Woohoo!  It's hard to imagine that I watched these kids as babies and now they're all grown up!  Thanks for popping in today, enjoy it and be blessed!

Is Will your sister's son? Reason I ask is because his smile reminds me of you and Dana. Your card is very pretty with the touches of gold glimmer.

This is so pretty and I just love the trees and matching stars! I hope you can forgive me for using the wrong color green in my design. Sometimes I do wonder about my brain. LOL I have so enjoyed my time with all of you as a guest designer, and I am so sad to see it come to an end. I will be back in the gallery again as a patron when I have the chance. Your nephew is as cute as can be too! Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Congratulations on your family news! Lovely card too - I love those sparkly trees, such a great use of that panel. I so wanted to play this sketch this week but time was not on my side. Great colour palette though for a festive card and the perfect way to end the PP year!
