You're Sweet

Happy Saturday, peeps!  It's going to be another rainy weekend here in PA....I am beginning to feel like a mushroom, although we did have a couple of nice days during the week...I just wish the weekends would get the message!  I have a fun little card today for three challenges:  Festive Friday is looking for stripes; Time Out wants playful, and CAS Watercolour wants a card for a child:

#festivefridaychallenge, #FF0033, Armed Forces Day, Stripes

This tower of ice cream cones has always been one of my favorites, especially for children; I stamped it on some SU watercolor paper and colored it with various yummy ice cream shades, then coated it with some Wink of Stella and fussy-cut it out, mounting it on another piece of watercolor paper I painted with Balmy Blue ink:

As much as I like ice cream (make that LOVE ice cream!), I think this much would probably give me a tummyache!  I mounted my panel on a striped piece of DSP, added a few sequins:

and finished it off with a sentiment from the retired set, Sweet Stuff, coloring those itty-bitty letters with some matching ink as well; I die-cut it with a tag punch, added some baker's twine (more stripes), and it's good to go:

Thanks for popping in today---YOU'RE sweet!!

Cassidy has been wearing shorts and a t-shirt lately; I was surprised when came yesterday morning wearing a Yoda hoodie!!  You can never tell with this girl!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge too!

Love this over-the-top ice cream cone LeAnne - it looks delicious! - and your watercolouring is just perfect! The sentiment tag is a cute touch too. How funny that Cassidy is wearing her yoda hoodie on Star Wars Day (May 4th) - May the fourth/force be with you today my friend!!

I love this "sweet" card! Wow, good job on the three challenges too! I love the Yoda hoodie! We are having beautiful weather here where I live in Oregon. Hoping for a little rain for the crops though.

I agree, that much ice cream might give you a tummyache, but it sure looks yummy. Love your card. Have a blessed weekend.

Sweet card, LeAnne! :) Couldn't resist! :) Love this towering ice cream cone over top of the pretty blue watercolour wash. Adorable and perfect for a child of any age! Love the way you've used the same colours for your sentiment tag. The striped paper is so fun! Great design! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour! xx

That's one heck of an ice cream cone! I'll take two, please. Your stripes remind me of an ice cream shop. Gee, there's one practically just around the corner. Don't get me started! Very cute card, LeAnne!

Funny how kids never feel the cold! Its Autumn here in New Zealand and even though it has been warmer than usual some days, others have been freezing but still my kids won't give up their shorts. I on the other hand am rugged up to the hilt!! I don't know any child that wouldn't want an ice-cream this big (me included) and the soft watercolouring goes with it perfectly. Really like how the sentiment colours match the ice-cream too. So very glad you shared this with us at TIME OUT!

Now that is my kind of ice cream cone! An Octo-Scoop! I just love the bright and cheery colors you used. Thanks so much for joining us this week over at Festive Friday!

I'm so with Anne Marie on this one! The more scoops the better! And all those lovely flavors to choose from. I guess that's why you scoop it out instead of just eating from the pint - more flavors at once!
I just love this card - it's so bright and cheerful. Thanks for playing with Festive Friday :D
