PP441 Popsicle Birthday

Happy Sunday, peeps, and Happy Mother's Day, if that applies to you!  Not sure what the family has in store today...I guess it will be a surprise!  Joanne is our Paper Players hostess today with a bright, cheerful color challenge...I admit, it had me stumped for a bit!

At first, my mind went "floral" but the colors kept reminding me of ice pops, so I pulled out the retired Day at the Beach...at first I was going to use three different images, but I remembered the sketch from Cecile at FMS:
So here is my popsicle-y creation:

Each treat was stamped in Stazon on watercolor paper and watercolored with inks, then fussy cut and coated with Wink of Stella...it's REALLY sparkly in real life, too bad you can't see it here!  I added some squiggly stitches to for fun on top of some retired Pool Party polka-dot DSP and a mat of Granny Apple Green:

I used a sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays and the confetti from Picture Perfect Birthday to decorate the inside:

SO....I hope you'll play along with this fun color challenge this week!  Check out what the DT did:

And it was a time for celebration yesterday....being new to the karate "community", I did not realize that the students also do competitions!  Cassidy has been practicing very hard lately, and she took first place yesterday in her division for one of her forms, and third place for sparring.  Check out these trophies!!

And here she is with her teacher, Master Fisher:

Thanks for popping in today!

I love that you showed that these colours would work with something other than florals LeAnne - your lollipops are good enough to eat! Love the use of the stitch detail too. Congratulations to Cassidy - didn't she do so well?! Awesome!

Such an adorable card, LeAnne! Ice cream is always a day brightener, whether it's on a card or the real thing. Ha! Congratulations to Cassidy on her winnings! That's so awesome!

LeAnne, I'll get to your card in a minute :-) WOW. GO CASSIDY! I did Karate years ago, so have a lot of admiration for her. Now, your card! These colors scared me, too. BUT... I saw your card on our private site and have been dying to tell you what a genius solution it was. The card is beautifully CAS and showcases each of the colors. The pops idea was perfect with these bright summer colors.
