TSOT593 Shaded Summer Thanks

Hi stamping friends!  I needed a couple of thank you cards, so I decided to use the sketch from the week's Try Stampin on Tuesday along with the Shaded Summer stamp set and some papers from the SAB Dandy Designs.  First, the sketch:

And here we go:

I would never have thought to put the colors of Pale Papaya and Fresh Freesia together, but the prints are so fun, I decided to embrace them!  I stamped the floral image in Fresh Freesia, then diecut it and added to a circle of DSP.  Another pattern created the vertical panel and I added a scalloped edge of Fresh Freesia as well.

I diecut a panel of Basic White with a Scalloped Contours die and stamped a sentiment from Biggest Wish in Pale Papaya, adding some sprigs from the Shaded Summer set as well.  That cute little flag banner is from the All That dies, and I added some Pale Papaya ribbon and some Iridescent sequins for shine!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Sing to the Lord, you saints of his; praise his holy name.  For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
Psalm 30:4-5

CAS Valentine Love Note

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  I have a CAS Valentine card (almost the last one, LOL!) today and it uses the sketch from Hand-Stamped Sentiments along with the colors from CAS Colours & Sketches:

I had several ideas in mind for a card but since the color challenge is a CAS challenge, I decided to go mostly white with a few accents in the challenge colors.  So here we go:

I used several retired products on top of my Stitched Greenery panels: the circular "wreath" and flowers are from a set called Perfectly Wrapped. The Mint Macaron leaves are from the Pierced Blooms dies.  The little envelope and love notes are from a set called Sealed With Love, along with the matching Love Note dies:

I added some rhinestones, colored with Blends, to the centers of the flowers.  And the inside sentiment and hearts are also from Sealed With Love:

It took a while for Sweet Sorbet to grow on me, but now I really love it! It's a pretty shade of red!

And speaking of red, this little lady flashed outside my window yesterday but she flew away when she heard my camera...and I was inside!!!  The picture is a little blurry because I was taking it through the screen:

The male pileateds have a red moustache, so I knew this one was a female.  She's come to visit several times this winter!  Look at those claws!

Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC511 Valentine

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Wow, Valentine's Day is a week away and yesterday I realized I didn't have enough cards made!!  I needed to get to work! I used the Atlantic Hearts Sketch to create one of them...here's the sketch:

I pulled out some current products and went to work:

I combined Country Floral Lane and Country Gingham papers to create the background; I added a Basic White panel that was embossed with the retired Dotty Hearts EF and matted with a scalloped piece of Mint Macaron.  The Petal Pink diecut sentiment was accented with a trio of hearts to match the DSP:

I added a little stamped sentiment on the Mint Macaron heart, and finally added a couple of In Color gems for some bling!  I stamped a simple "Happy Valentine's Day" on the inside.  I love the non-traditional colors, don't you?!

Last week we had a SPRINKLE of snow...I mean, it was barely a dusting.  As I was going to my car, I snapped a picture of the only flakes that made it to our driveway:

No shoveling necessary!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Butterfly Basics Sympathy

Happy Monday, everyone!  I have a sympathy card today using the sketch from Sunday Stamps as well as the Tickled Pink challenge from Retro Rubber:

So here we go:

Butterfly Basics is from 2015, and I stamped the flowers in Basic Gray, watercolored them with Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo and Pear Pizzazz inks, then fussy cut them out.  The butterfly was stamped in Smoky Slate and watercolored as well:

The woodgrain background was stamped with some of the collage images from the set, and I added a sympathy sentiment from Hero Arts (also 2015).

I layered the butterfly with another butterfly stamped in Blushing Bride, and gave it a little rhinestone embellishment:

The inside sentiment is one of my favorites from Stamp Simply:

Thanks for popping in today!

Here's what I have been doing for the last week...what is it about a 1000-piece puzzle that makes you forget all your housework?!  Thanks to my friend Peggy for lending it to me!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP626 Musical Love Note

Hi stampers!  I am the hostess today over at the Paper Players, and my theme challenge for this month is "There's a Song in the Air"! You could use musical symbols, sheet music, or be inspired by a song, which is what I did.  First, here's your prompt:

I've had this Papertrey stamp set for YEARS...it's called Love Songs, and it has little snippets of love songs, along with lovey-dovey images!  I chose to use the lyrics from the song by Barry White called You're My Everything....here we go:

I stamped the lyrics, the heart and the letters in Merry Merlot on a piece of gingham and added two wee little borders of sheet music at the top and bottom.  I mounted all of that on a piece Very Vanilla cardstock that was embossed with an embossing folder called Allegro.  A few Cherry Cobbler glimmer paper punched hearts finished it off:

On the inside, I stamped a row of Xs and Ox, then added a sentiment---also a lyric from a love song by James Taylor--along with a few more hearts.  I wonder to whom I should send this?

I admit that even though this was my own challenge, at first I struggled with what to create---there were almost too many possibilities!  But it was fun to use an older stamp and show it some "love"!  I am going to enter this at Freshly Made Sketches too, because I used their sketch, just turned it on its side:

I hope you'll pop over to the Paper Players blog and see the fantastic ideas the Design Team came up with...then put on your musical thinking cap and come play along with us!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

TSOT592 Rev Up the Birthday

Happy Friday, everyone!  I have a fun interactive card for you today; my nephew's birthday is coming up and although he's almost 30, he is still a kid at heart, so I thought I would make a spinner card for him using some of the new Ready to Ride DSP featured in the mini.  I had to refresh my memory on how to make one (they're easy to find on the internet), although I usually use images a bit smaller, I still think he'll get a kick of out this one:

To begin, I used the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday:

The motorcycle was fussy-cut from one of the sheets of DSP, and another was used for the front; this particular pattern has a glossy finish...so fun for those tire tracks!  And this motorcycle is a trick one!  It can slide along the track, or spin around and do flips, LOL!

I used a base of Smoky Slate and a panel of Very Vanilla; the sentiment is from an old set called Rev Up the Fun, and I diecut it with a Stitched Rectangle die and added an adhesive stud for fun:

On the inside, I used sentiments from Best Family Ever and Hats Off...not sure why I didn't stamp it ALL in black, but oh well!

We're headed to his house tonight for pizza...a great way to celebrate a birthday!  Thanks for stopping by--enjoy your day and be blessed!

Country Floral Lane Hello

Hello friends!  No challenges today, just a cute little card made with the pretty Country Floral Lane DSP!  I just love the colors in this bicycle-print paper and I matched it up with some Balmy Blue stripes:

(I made this card last month, so hopefully I haven't posted it before!)  I used the Scalloped Contour dies to cut the stitched scallops and fussy-cut a litlte sentiment from Conversation Bubbles and popped it up on a Stylish Shapes circle:

While I'm at it, I'll show you this one too!  Same papers, but I simply stamped a Valentine's sentiment directly on the DSP; you can get much easier than this!

Thanks for popping in today!

My little great-nephew Sawyer had a birthday a couple of days ago:
