Happy Friday, everyone! I've been lacking my stamping mojo and today's card certainly shows it! I had an image in my mind, but it just didn't quite translate to my card. However, you know how it goes...you invest time and materials and you just feel like you need to see it through! It uses the FMS sketch as well as the yummy color inspiration from Just Add Ink:
My idea was to use watercolor swatches for the three panels, then stamp a flower on top, but my colors turned a bit muddy, but here goes anyway:
The top panel is SU's watercolor paper and the inks I used for the panels were Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. The flowers were stamped in Versafine Black, then inked with Gorgeous Grape, Blackberry Bliss and Old Olive. I blended them a little bit with an aquapainter to fill them in.
I mounted the panel on a card of Soft Sea Foam, and I added some diecut leaves from the Stippled Roses dies to create a bit of an interest in the background.
My final touch was some sequins from my stash! I might try this again with different colors for the flowers! Not the most attractive card ever, but I have it in mind for a friend who's a little bit down! Thanks for popping in today!
I heard that our area had an earthquake earlier this morning, in fact it was centered only a few miles from where we used to live in New Jersey! I didn't feel a thing, LOL! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Well, I think your card is beautiful, LeAnne! Love the purple & greens and all the fun sequins you added to it! Our weather lately is enough to yank the mojo right out from under us. Don't be too hard on yourself, LeAnne it's lovely and it think it will lift the spirits of your friend. I love the pretty little pierced leaves you tucked under the corners!
Your card is lovely and those colors will make someone happy. I always remind myself when I struggle with creative mojo or a project that I think is subpar who is my audience. Will they even notice whatever it is I'm worried about! Most likely NOT! LOL!

LeAnne, your design is gorgeous, and I admired Cecile's use of those water-y swaths of color on her DT card, too. The results might not be exactly what you had imagined, but it's beautifully done, and your card is gorgeous! I love your background of soft seafoam green.
I'd give anything to have that gorgeous dessert sitting on my counter! YUM!

Watercoloring always elicits the same feelings for me. Your card may not have quite fit the image in your mind, but it is lovely! I love the shades of purple and the peek of the pretty green leaves. I'm glad you didn't give up and you joined us in the gallery at FMS!
