TCC144 Homespun Greetings

Happy Wednesday, stampers!  Thanks for coming for a visit! It's time for a new Card Concept challenge, and Julie has chosen a prompt that I just love!  Check this one out:

I have white rockers on my porch but they are in pretty sad shape, and we usually put them away for the winter....but I sure like how they gussied these up!  SO....I was inspired by that awesome Buffalo check pillow and the greenery against the white, so here's what I came up with for my Clean and Layered card:

My SU Buffalo Check background stamp worked like a charm; I stamped it with Memento Black ink on Real Red cardstock, using my Stamparatus....it actually looks like flannel to me!  My sentiment is from Tim Holtz, stamped in Shaded Spruce, diecut with an oval die and matted with a Shaded Spruce scallop:

I went back and forth trying to decide if I should leave the bells plain or colored, and in the end, I stamped a second set, colored them with Blends and fussy-cut them so they could be popped up.  I added some Silver Metallic pearls for the clappers!  And I remembered some dark green glimmer paper from the Holiday catalog a couple years back, so I used a Tim Holtz greenery die to cut some sparkly foliage!

And just a hint when you're die-cutting glimmer paper...first peel off the paper backing that gives the glimmer paper that thickness....it is much easier to diecut!  You can even add some adhesive sheet to it (although I didn't here) and it still cuts through nicely.  The inside sentiment is a retro-style one from Flonzcraft:

And the sketch that I used comes from Sunday Stamps:

We hope you'll play along with our beautiful challenge....just check out the different styles or "concepts" at the Card Concept blog and share which style you're featuring!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

I LOVE this card because it reminds me of the blankets our NC rental house has. Chester loves them too. It truly is a beautiful card.
