AYSI236 Speedy Butterfly

Happy Friday, everyone!  It's time for the weekend, and time for a new As You See It challenge!  Here's our theme for this week:

I totally missed the SPEED STAMPING part of this challenge when I first looked at it, so my first card was "disqualified"!!!  I'll show it to you later in the post! So I got out my supplies, set my timer and went to work, and came up with this:

I used a thick white cardstock base, added a strip of Ornate Garden Specialty Paper at an angle, stamped the butterfly from Positive Thoughts on some watercolor paper with Stazon ink and diecut it out:

I watercolored it with Flirty Flamingo ink, then stamped a sentiment from Beautiful Day at an angle as well, so it fits with the Inkspirational Challenge this week of Angle It!

I also added a rhinestone to the top of the butterfly, which added about a minute to my time, since I couldn't decide which color to use!  Altogether, my time was 4:45!  Not bad!  I did have everything ready to go so, and it was a very simple layout...but it just goes to show that you don't need a lot of time and supplies to make an awesome card!  Now here's the "disqualified" card which definitely took more than 10 minutes to create:

Same stamp set, but I did a watercolor background, added some ribbon and gold trim, and a sentiment from Life is Beautiful.  The colors I used were Mint Macaron, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze, so I am entering this one in the Global Design Project's challenge as well!

Be sure to check out what the other designers did with their speed stamping!  Then get out your supplies and do some speedy stamping of your own and share it with us as well on the As You See It blog!  Thanks for popping in today!

It's been sunny but cool here in the mornings in SE PA; I took this picture the other morning as I sat on the porch to read my Bible and drink my coffee:

Both cards are beautiful, LeAnne! Sometimes speed stamping is pretty easy and other times it can take me an hour or more to create! The life of a crafter I suppose! LOL Your morning coffee paints such a beautiful picture with the steam rising up! We have been very lucky to have these beautiful cool but sunny mornings lately! My favorite time of the year! Enjoy!

I love them both, LeAnne - but your quickest is my most favorite!
Chilly mornings, indeed - I have two butterflies that just don't want to come out in the cold!

There's something special about sitting on the porch, Bible and coffee in hand! It's raining in NC this morning so I'm sitting inside looking at your beautiful cards. I've been waiting for a speed challenge and I thought I didn't bring any butterfly sets with me. However, when I saw you used Positive Thoughts I KNEW I had brought that set with me and it has never been inked! I love angles too so thanks for giving me a double challenge. You know you create so many cards that are my faves but these two take top billing! Have a blessed weekend.

Two fantastic butterflies, LeAnne! I love the simplicity of the first one and that watercolor background of the second! What a beautiful view of God's creation while you read His word!

They're both lovely cards LeAnne! I think the first is my favorite, that paper is darling. Chilly mornings and evenings for us too. But the days have been absolutely gorgeous this week!

Sweet butterfly cards! I am the slowest card maker ever - I should practice those speed challenges!

Two lovely cards LeAnne and the first one is such a great speed stamping card! So much colour and interest in the paper and butterfly and I love the angle too!

Such a bright and pretty card! I like how you angled the designer paper and the addition of the cute butterfly. Thanks for playing with us at Inkspirational!
