PP420 A Sketch from Sandy Times Two

Hello, stamping friends!  Hope your weekend is spiffy so far!  Sandy is our hostess for this week's Paper Players challenge, and she has a fabulous sketch!  Loved it so much, I made two cards!  So here we go:

I haven't used the Farmhouse Memories DSP too much this season, so I chose to do an almost-monochromatic card using Mossy Meadow with a touch of Crumb Cake for my first seasonal card:

Christmas Pines is one of the most versatile Christmas sets you could own...the sentiments are so pretty, as are the greenery pieces!  Here, I stamped the sentiment and added some Crumb Cake pinecones, then matted my square with a stitched mat and added some greenery and sequins.  I also separated a piece of thick baker's twine to make it less bulky and tied a little bow to embellish my pinecones:

The inside also has a Crumb Cake mat; sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake and the greenery in Soft Sea Foam:

And I am also entering this in the Color Throwdown this week:

I also needed a birthday card for our soon-to-be-three-year-old nephew!  For my second card, I used a Balmy Blue card base, embossed with a geometrical EF, then added some plaid papers from Lawn Fawn and the loader from I Dig You:

I added some presents and a little "3" from the retired Little Numbers die in the bucket of the loader:

A Tim Holtz number and a sentiment from Perennial Birthday finished it off!

This sketch is great to use little pieces of DSP, and we all have them laying around!  Show us what you can create and share it with us at the Paper Players!  Can't wait to see it!  Meanwhile, check out what the DT created:

Love both of these LeAnne - two for tw, go you! That little digger card is super cute and I love the embossed background. The first one is lovely too and has lots of depth and interest, even with a relatively neutral colour palette. I might have to case this just to break out my Farmhouse papers too! This card would also work for the colour challenge over at Color Throwdown this week - you should link up!

Love the "happy dirtday" sentiment. Cute cards. I need to get back into the craft room but it just hasn't felt right yet. Your girls are so beautiful. Happy blessed Sunday.

LeAnne, I love both of these cards and had forgotten how cute the digger set is! I love the colors of your Christmas card and the papers are perfect. I love the texture on the dirty card and the little three among the parcels is just perfect!

Is there somewhere that offers the measurememts for the challenge sketches? I spend a lot of frustrating time trying to figure it out ... I think I already have a New Year's resolution!

Not one, but two fabulous cards this week? Wow! Both are perfect, of course. I just love the rustic feel to the holiday card and have no idea why I haven’t bought this stamp set yet. You can never go wrong with a “punny” sentiment, so your “dirtday” card is absolutely adorable. Love the mix of plaid papers, too. Have a great day today!

Oh, I love these cards! Love the mossy meadow and crumb cake combo! I still kick myself for not getting that 'I Dig You' set! So cute!

WOW! Both of your cards are fantastic! The Christmas card is just perfect in those shades! The pine cones and twine complete the card! The little boy card is the bomb! Our little Will loves diggers. His second birthday is Dec. 24. I need to CAS your card. Wish I owned that digger stamp. Have a great week, My Friend! XX

Crumb Cake is just the perfect partner for Mossy Meadow. The horizontal of the paper looks like embossing so adds a sense of texture. Really warm, cosy and farmhouse, LeAnne.

LeAnne, I'm so happy you liked my sketch enough to make two cards, and they are both fabulous! The little boy card is just adorable with the number three peeking out of the shovel, and your Christmas card is gorgeous. I love the colors and the cute pine cones. Hope you are having a good week, my friend!
