ColourQ188

DSCF4659

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Are you ready for another ColourQ challenge?  How about this:

Gorgeous!  I wish I had a place to wear this…..of course, I guess I could always STAMP in a skirt like this, right?!! LOL!  Anyway, I took the liberty of adding Crumb Cake to the mix when making my card.  A couple of weeks ago, I fell in love with this one-layer card and vowed to try this simple masking technique myself!  So here we go:

LeAnne_CQC188
My first step was to cut a circle in a piece of scrap paper; then I clipped the mask to my Crumb Cake panel.  I brayered the inside circle with Craft White ink, then heat-dried it and stamped floral images from Summer Silhouettes and Fabulous Florets in the challenge colors, still leaving the mask intact.  The Blush Blossom flowers are a bit hard to see, but they are there!  To make the circle stand out a bit more, I used the reverse part of the mask (the circle) and laid it on top of my stamped area, and sponged some Crumb Cake around it, just to give it some more depth; I also paper pierced it.  I made a banner with vellum cardstock, embossing my sentiment from the retiring Friendly Phrases set in white ink and white EF, then mounted it with my shabby bow.  Can you believe this---I dyed my seam binding with Sage Shadow ink, and this is the green that it gave me!!  So weird, but I just went with it!

This is also for The Kraft Journal’s Make It Monday challenge, which is “Just for Her”!

Now, what can you create with this beautiful springy-sunshiney palette?  I can’t wait to see what floral masterpieces you come up with!  Be sure to share them with us all over at the ColourQ blog!  We can’t wait to see them!

Merry Monday 61

DSCF4655

Happy Monday, peeps!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  We’re back again with a lovely sketch from Lesley for our Merry Monday challenge:

I went super-duper easy on this one, letting my DP do most of the work:

MM60-LeAnne

I added a cute little sentiment flag and a matching gingham flag, both cut from the snowy bottom section of my DP, adding a little snowflake embellishment:

I carried through the snowflake theme on the inside, using another piece of the same paper:

The card base is Marina Mist, and all the edges were sponged with white craft ink for more snowy goodness!  Hope you’ll play along with us….I think this is one of the nicest sketches that Lesley has ever done!  Check out all the samples at her blog, Always Playing with Paper, and play along with us too!  You could be our guest designer or featured stamper!!!  As always, if you have any questions, please send me an email!

Just enjoying the sunshine with cousin Trent!

Paper Players 144

DSCF4613

Happy Sunday, everyone!  What a beautiful weekend we’re having!  Today, Anne Marie is our Paper Players hostess with a Mother’s Day challenge:

I found this adorable digi image and printed it out twice to make today’s card:

PP144-LeAnne

Since Cassidy is way past this little baby stage, I have to get my baby kicks vicariously through crafting, LOL!  I colored the first image with Copics, then cut her out; the second image was cut out with my oval Nestie.  I colored the portions of the image that I omitted on the cut-out layer, then adhered the cut-out layer on top with some dimensionals:

I added some sweet DPs in pink and blue as well as a little felt heart with a gingham bow & button embellishment:

The sentiment is computer-generated, and finishes on the inside, along with a little CHF baby shoe stamp:

Mother’s Day is only a week away, so let’s see what you can create for that special mother in your life!  Share them with us at The Paper Players blog and while you’re there, check out the other designers’ samples as well!  If you have any questions about my project, just shoot me an email!

Cassidy snagged my binoculars the other day and tried to look at a plane in the sky:

Then she had a hard time trying to figure out how to remove the strap from around her neck:

Needless to say, it went all the way down, and she ended up stepping out of it!

Have a blessed day!

Gratitude X Two

DSCF4608

Wow, what a couple of beautiful spring days we have had here in SE PA!!  Absolutely gorgeous!  I am filled with gratitude for them…..and my customers!  Here are a couple of “gratitude” cards I made for them!  The first one uses the colors from Create with Connie & Mary:

2013 Thursday Challenges-013

and the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch, which I turned on its side:

and here’s my card:

DSCF4607

I wanted to use some retiring sets, in this case, Nature Walk, along with the This & That Epic Day DP, which has the perfect colors for the challenge!  It also uses a retiring die, Two Tags…..SO SAD that is retiring!  I love that die!

The second one uses a sketch from  the Deconstructed Sketch:

as well as the Inspired By photo inspiration:

Another one of the papers from the Epic Day line had these same colors!  I added a a rose from Papaya Collage and some buttons:

DSCF4601

I even overstamped the rose in Very Vanilla ink with the Linen background stamp to give it a more subtle look:

DSCF4604

The banner was stamped on the same DP in Wild Wasabi….I am really liking that look!

So there you go….two fairly simple cards, ready to be sent out to my customers!   And here are a couple of pix of Cassidy….she had on NEON pink sneakers yesterday….the photos just don’t do them justice!  She was pumped!

DD50, TSOT116 & USE054

DSCF4560

Happy Thursday, peeps!  A real classic card today—just layers and cardstock, very little stamping!  We’ve got the Dynamic Duos color combo:

The sketch from Try Stampin’ on Tuesday:

and the challenge from Use it Tuesday, which is “Flowers for Mom”!!  So here we go:

DSCF4559

Use it Tuesday’s claim to fame is to use stuff in your stash….in my case, these SU flowers are some I’ve had for a long time, and are something I RARELY use….I am just not comfortable with big flowers, but I forced myself to use them, as well as an In Color brad from last year!!  Since my mom and MIL have passed away, I don’t make Mother’s Day cards, so I just put a generic sentiment on mine---hope that is okay!  I am glad I forced myself to use the flowers, as I like how this turned out!

Cassidy thought her jiggly jello (she calls it “yellow”) was fun to eat!

Washi Fun

DSCF4542-001

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Today’s little card is just something I made to highlight the new This & That Epic Day line….I know yesterday was the last day to order the bundle, but since it will be in the upcoming catalog, I thought I’d still show it anyway!  I just love this washi tape!!!!  I am so glad that SU will have a couple different kinds in the new catalog!

Anyway, this uses Summer Silhouettes in the colors of the washi tape, Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral and Pool Party:

s

and did you know, if you use Stazon, you can STAMP on washi tape?

DSCF4544

Oh, sure you did!  Isn’t it pretty?  I added a black button and some black centers to tie it all together, and stamped some flowers on the inside as well:

DSCF4545

The sentiments are from Petite Pairs.  This card just makes me HAPPY!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy wanted to play with my spaghetti pot, and promptly ran and got her own play food!
