TGIF297 Christmas Greetings

Happy Monday, peeps!  My card today features a snowman, but we only have rain where I am!!  I got a few new stamps this Christmas, and I decided to use this Tim Holtz set in black and white, to fulfill this week's TGIF challenge:

So here we go:

I stamped the snowman first, then cut a mask to cover him up and stamped the tree behind him:

He's such a cutie!  I added an older TH sentiment, then used the little "snowflake" stamp to the background, stamping it in Versamark ink, then using Heat and Stick powder and some retired Dazzling Diamonds glitter on top.  It's hard to see here, but perhaps you can see a wee bit of the glitter!

The white panel went on a Basic Black card base with a white mat on the inside!  I can't wait to use this set again, but in color!  I know it seems crazy to be making Christmas cards in January; probably everyone is sick of them, but I like to make them all year long!  And since the Jingle Belles challenge this week is looking for something old and something new, I am entering there as well! Thanks for popping in today!

For Christmas, John's sister Mimi gave Cassidy a Rock and Mineral set. It included a block of some sort of hard plaster substance in which were contained eleven little stones.  She had to hammer and chisel at the block until she unearthed the little stones.  Mimi's grandson Zion "helped", although his main activity was to bulldoze the leftover dirt into little piles.  He did have fun wearing the safety glasses and looking through the magnifying glass!

Cass was very excited when she uncovered the first one! (She's also wearing an apron her mommy made in 4H from about 25 years ago!!)

Honestly, this kept them busy for over an hour...and I didn't even mind the pounding noise!!

The final reward:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

"When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, 'I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'"  John 8:12

I love the font on the greeting. It's a really cute card. Congrats on your win at GDP. Maybe she'll become an archeologist? That is a cool gift. Do you know the company?

Happy New Year, LeAnne! I'm so in love with this black and white card! You've masked and stamped that little scene so perfectly, leaving just the right amount of space for this great sentiment stamp - they were made for each other! [and for your wonderful vintage-loving style!]
