No Peeking!

Happy Monday, peeps!  So happy you stopped by today!  I have a card for a couple of challenges; Christmas Kickstart wants to see the Night Before Christmas, and Handstamped Sentiments has a sketch, although there is no linky available, and I can't seem to rouse anyone to remedy, but I am sure they will eventually!  So here are the challenge prompts:

One of my favorite older stamps is this one from Cornish Heritage Farms:

I used my Stamparatus to stamp the image on some Whisper White cardstock in Stazon ink, then diecut it with a Nested Stitched Label die, adding a Basic Black mat:

A sentiment from another CHF set seemed appropriate, and I added some holly and enamel dot berries to the sentiment panel:

as well as to the top part of the panel, where it was also embellished with some Red Linen Braid:

I just love these little cheeky guys, sneaking down to hang up their stockings and perhaps get a glimpse of Santa! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP519 Tic Tac Toe in Red

Hello peeps!  It's time for a new Paper Players challenge, with Anne Marie as our hostess, and she has a Tic-Tac-Toe board for us!  Check it out:

I recently purchased a big beautiful stamp from the Colorado Craft Company, and I had been playing around with it, just testing it out, and the image was so pretty and stamped so nicely, I couldn't bear to toss it.  It was being pushed around on my desk and when I saw the challenge had "red" as a square, I went to work to figure out how I could used that stamped image!  SO....I have the middle row going across of Red, Fun or Fancy Fold and Ribbon or Twine:

So obviously, the stamp is big...and round...and I stamped it on a regular quarter sheet of cardstock, so I didn't get the complete design on it.  But I hated to waste it!  I used a huge stitched circle die to cut out what I could, did a little crease at the top and mounted it on a piece of Real Red cardstock embossed with some snowflakes, and then that all went on a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock to give it some weight.  You can see how it folds out from this side view:

I added a shorted diecut tag with a sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas, and some Real Red ribbons:

When you flip it up, you have the sentiment in another circle and you can see all the embossed snowflakes:

I thought it was a good save, and I am looking forward to making a full-sized circle card with the whole design in the near future!

SO.....now what will tempt you from our Tic-Tac-Toe board?  If you need to make a few more holiday cards, perhaps you'll find a "recipe" that will give you inspiration!  Please check out what the DT did over at the Paper Players blog for some more inspiration and play with us as well!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS463 Thank You

Happy Day-after-Thanksgiving Day!  I am beat, but we had a lovely dinner!  I have a very simple but pretty thank you card to send to my customers and I used the FMS sketch for them:

In the hustle and bustle of creating holiday cards, we sometimes forget the other pretty papers that we own!  I pulled out some cheerful prints from Flowers for Every Season, and made use of some scraps:

This first one uses the sentiment from Beautiful Autumn, stamped in Poppy Parade, and a little Just Jade leaf diecut from the Christmas Cardinals dies for an accent:

This next one is a little stepped up....I wanted a narrower sentiment so as not to cover up that beautiful floral image on the DSP, so I stamped a sentiment from Ornate Thanks, punched the edges with the Banner Pick-a-Punch, and for added interest, embossed the card front with the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder:

and since I had already stamped and diecut the larger thank you, I adhered that to the inside of this card, along with the little leaf:

Thanks for popping by today!

The "kiddie" table from yesterday....this table was in my grandmother's house and I imagine that many of my cousin's fannies sat on these chairs!!  Cassidy was a wee bit too big for a chair, so John put a cushion from one of our patio chairs on to a plastic milk crate and it worked like a charm:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TTTC92 Glittery Snowman

Hi peeps!  Hope your Thanksgiving is going well!  Time for a new Tic Tac Toe challenge with Team X:

I chose the top row across of Stitching, Ombre and Sparkle Glitter, but I also used the middle row down of Tag and Metallic as well!  So here we go:

I've got a lot of sparkle going on here!  I diecut a tag (which is stitched, but it's hard to see) from SU's Rainbow Glimmer paper, then cut a stitched snowman and stitched snowbank with some retired Sparkle Glimmer paper as well.  The tag has some metallic ribbon, and his scarf, nose and eyes are also glimmer paper, and the background paper has metallic accents on all the little designs!

The snowman hugs sentiment is from an old Whippersnapper set, stamped in Tempting Turquoise; the Let it Snow is from SU's Snow Place, stamped in Magenta Madness and cut with a banner die:

Although there are lots of parts to the card, it went together surprisingly quickly and I love the final outcome!  And since there is so much "snow" on here, I am entering it at Shopping Our Stash for their snowy  challenge this week!

I hope you'll play Tic Tac Toe with us and share your creation with us too!  If you have any questions about the "ingredients", let me know!!  Thanks for popping by and have a blessed day!

IB152 Sparkle Treat Box

Hi stampers!  Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!  So it's full swing into Christmas!  Today's Inspired By Challenge is a sweet one, check it out, along with the optional sketch:

Aren't those little donut snowmen cute?!  I happened recently to be searching through every Christmas stamp I had, looking for a particular sentiment, and I found Mr Twigster!  I also happened to be using my Little Treat Box die and had cut out a red one, so they just sort of worked together!  Here we go:

I stamped Mr Twigster with Stazon black ink and colored him in with some SU markers, then fussy-cut him out.  The sentiment is from a retired set called Good Greetings.  The background was cut from the same Little Treat Box die, trimming it down, then stamping and embossing "snow" (Gorgeous Grunge) and embellishing it with some Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper:

I haven't figured what I'll put inside my little treat box, but it will be something yummy, that's for sure! I am entering this at the Little Red Wagon challenge, too, which is "Prepared for Christmas"!

I hope you'll play along with our adorable challenge this week...share it with us over at Inspired By!  Thanks for popping in today!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!  We should be thankful EVERY day to the Lord who provides all of our needs, but I am especially thankful this year, despite all that's happened.  We will look back on it one day and see His hand in all of it!  This is a particularly wistful day as today would have been my dad's 91st birthday!  But he is in a happy place! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CAS Vintage Christmas

Happy Wednesday peeps!  I am in the full Thanksgiving mode so this post will be short and sweet!  I have an uber-CAS card for a couple of challenges:  the Rainbow Card challenge wants "sapphire"; Christmas Card Throwdown wants a Winter Wonderland; and Less Is More wants a one-layer festive! Not really sure how "festive" my card is, but it is one layer!

I have lots of wintery-themed stamps, and since I've been going through my older stamps, I found this one that I thought had a sweet vintage feel to it:

I got this image several years ago at a stamp show and I don't know the maker!  I stamped it in Pacific Point, which is a color I rarely use, but I think it looks pretty with this silhouette.  I created a mask with a square die and sponged the sky with Balmy Blue, then added some retired SU Ice Glitter for snow:

Both sentiments are from Cornish Heritage Farms; the outside one is from Vintage Christmas Expressions, the inside from Christmas Expressions; I just love them!

Thanks for popping in today--I hope you have a blessed day!  I will have a post tomorrow....but mostly I'll be spending time giving thanks!

Thankful Mice

Happy Monday, peeps! I have a quick and easy card to share today...I needed a few more Thanksgiving cards to mail out and so I made a couple of these using my favorite little Lawn Fawn pilgrims:

I used the colors from Fab Friday:

coloring the characters with ink and a blender pen:

I stamped the sentiment on a piece of Mint Macaron gingham and diecut it, then added this sentiment from Sugar Pea's Lovely Leaves:

I also used the sketch from Just Add Ink, and am adding it to the Krafty Chicks' CAS Challenge!

And look at this sleepy girl, LOL!  Thanks for popping in today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP518 Christmas Blues

Hi everyone, happy Sunday!  I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week and I have a fun sketch that will help you use up all those little scraps we all have hanging around our crafty area!  And it can be used for any occasion!  Check it out:

I chose some papers from Kaisercraft's Wonderland pad to create my first card (yeah, I have two!); here we go:

I used a Whisper White card base, and I cut the panels to 1 5/16" wide.  Then I added little doodads in Balmy Blue and Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper and Blue Metallic Gems for some pizzazz:

The sentiment is from Papertrey's Beautiful Berries: Winter, stamped in Lost Lagoon ink.  Here's the inside, stamped with an old sentiment from CC Designs:

And since this uses blue hues, I am entering this in the Double D Challenge, Winter Blues!

And I figured I would use the second piece of Whisper White for another Christmas card, this time using papers from 'Tis the Season, and a set I recently got from my friend and her stash:

I actually had a star punch to match this star from the set (Christmas Classics), and I added a green rhinestone to the center:

and a red rhinestone to the Mint Macaron Christmas tree:

And I just love this sentiment for the inside!

Please stop by the Paper Players blog to see what the other designers made with this sketch....they did a fabulous job with it!  Hopefully you'll be inspired to create something too!  I know it is a busy week here in the US, but for some families, Thanksgiving will be a bit subdued, so maybe you'll have some extra stamping time!  We'd love to see what you can create!  Thanks for popping in; enjoy your day and be blessed!

Another Purple Card!

Hello peeps, and happy Saturday!  I have another purple card...can you believe it?  This is actually the first card I made for yesterday's As You See It challenge, but I ended up in going in a different direction!  But it was still kind of cute, so I decided to share it with you today.  It also uses the colors from CAS Colours and Sketches challenge; my card isn't exactly CAS, but I'll share it anyway.  Here are the colors:

And here we go:

I began by making a "quilt" of two gingham DSPs, using my Stitched Triangle dies and a Basic Gray square as a base.  I stamped one of the gnomes and his little tree home from Gnome for the Holidays in Basic Gray ink and watercolored them in, then fussy-cut them out and mounted them on the quilt:

The sentiment from Many Mates was stamped and heat-embossed in white, then diecut and popped up. I also added a ribbon, a tiny tag from a long-retired set and some Pinewood Planks embossing on the background!  I think this would make a cute birthday card, so it's going in my stash for the next one that comes up!  Thanks for popping in today!

We have so many trees around our property, it would be impossible to rake all the leaves that fall, but we do try to rake up the ones on the front yard so they don't kill our grass.  After blowing them into a looong pile, John brought the tractor and wagon over for me to load up.

Cassidy used to like to jump into the piles, but my other "child" made up for it:

He's just a big kid at heart!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
