TCC139 Ridiculously Awesome

Hi stampers!  It's Wednesday and that means a new Card Concept challenge!  I took a little break from the DT, but I am back for the new season of challenges!  Take a gander at this pretty inspiration:

As a refresher, the Card Concept embraces several styles of creativity, so when you create a card, we'd like to know what your style is!  You can see all the styles here!  For my card today, I went Clean and Layered:

I was inspired by the sunflowers as well as the blackboard in the background!  I pulled out some retired SU blackboard paper and heat-embossed a sentiment from Ridiculously Awesome on it, then diecut it with a Stitched So Sweetly die and mounted it on some retired Woodgrain DSP:

After a few trial and errors, I finally got the smaller sunflower from Celebrate Sunflowers to my liking; it's stamped in Crushed Curry, colored in with Blends, and another one stamped with Cinnamon Cider, from which I cut out the center and colored and sponged it and popped it up:

I wanted to pull out some of the greens from the inspiration photo as well, so I diecut a jumbo scallop from some Shaded Spruce gingham to accent the edges, and then added a fun sentiment and diecut to the inside:

These are from Taylored Expressions and were a gift from my sweet friend Renita!  I love them!

I hope you'll find some inspiration and will play along with us this week at the Card Concept challenge!  Can't wait to see you there!

Here are a couple of funny (albeit blurry) pictures from vacation; I guess editing things before having them committed to posterity is not a big thing; this one is from a menu from a restaurant at which we had breakfast:

We love "sider" orders!  And this one was painted on three sides of a truck at a local marina, advertising boat rides to see the elusive "dolphing"!!!!

What the heck?  Doesn't anyone notice these things!!!  And finally, a gigantic pink flamingo gracing our seashore view:

Looks like fun, but I am not sure how easy it would be to get into!  Thanks for popping by today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

"So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own."
Matthew 6: 31-34

I really love the clean simplicity of this card. The gingham and sunflower are a great pairing. Looks like proofreading is becoming a lost art.

I hate it when I find typos in a book for which I've paid good money. Spelling, grammar and handwriting have gone out the window! Speaking of windows, your card looks like a night-time window on which the sentiment has been done with Glass Wax and a stencil. Do you remember doing that as a kid? I still have Glass Wax from the 60's!

I'm so inspired by this photo and hope to join in! Your version is fabulous with its chalkboard, gingham scallops and pretty sunflower. Typos always make me laugh and these are superb! :Love the look of that pink flamingo inflatable too :) Vicky x

Love this - and so many elements from the inspiration photo too. As for the typos - they always make me laugh too! I do not know how people don't see them!! My children think I am the permanent grammar police ;-)
