SSC250 in Purple

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Do you ever challenge yourself to use a color or pattern that might not be a favorite?  That's how I feel about purple hues...I don't dislike them necessarily, I just am not drawn to them as much as I am to other colors!  So I challenged myself to use some!  I even made two!  The first one uses the cool sketch from Sunday Stamps:

I was immediately drawn to this sketch because of the three panels, as I love things in threes!  So here we go, using some shades of Gorgeous Grape and Purple Posy:

I started with some Gorgeous Grape DSP, cutting the piece into three rectangles and adding a Purple Posy mat to each.  They went on top of a layer of Whisper White cardstock that had been embossed with the Ornate Garden embossing folder.  A couple of Pierced Blooms flowers were diecut from Purple Posy cardstock and layered on top of a panel that was embossed with the (ret) Wrapped in Texture embossing folder.  I stamped a sentiment from Lovely You and fussy cut it out to layer at the bottom:

The piece of cardstock I had diecut the larger flower from was actually a Stitched Nested Labels diecut I had in my stash, so I thought I'd go ahead and use it for another card, this time layering it on top of the remaining piece of Gorgeous Grape DSP:

This time I added a single Whisper White flower, tilted a bit to show the DSP through then opening, then stamped a sentiment from Sweet Ice Cream and a little flourish from Lovely You.

I needed a customer thank you note, so this one is already out in the mail!  Thanks for popping by today, enjoy it and be blessed!

Have you ever heard of the "Pets Behaving Badly" version of Sorry?  It's probably apropos at Cassidy's house, LOL!

"This is what the Lord says--Israel's King and Redeemer, the Lord Almighty:  I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God." Isaiah 44:6

I am wearing a purple top with a gold butterfly on it so, of course, I love your cards today!

Beautiful cards! Purple isn't my "top of the list" color, either. But, I do have 2 friends that love purple and I make special purple cards just for them.

Hi LeAnne! You always do sketch challenges perfectly! I can't tell you how many of your layouts I have saved in my inspiration folder! Whenever I'm creatively stuck, I pull out this folder and it gets me back in the groove! I'm also loving the purples on these cards! Take care!

I'm not a purple user either but I sure like the way you've used it today! Two terrific cards. I need to check into that game for Sweet P, she loves Dogopoly and a version of Life where they get pets!

You rocked your purple hues LeAnne! These are both lovely and I especially like the offset flower in the second. I feel the same about purples although funnily enough I was really attracted to Purple Posy and was disappointed when I couldn't have the ink! Vicky x

What a fab take on the sketch, LeAnne, and totally fun in your monochromatic purple color scheme! I like purple in small doses so I admire your deep dive into it with this card, and it turned out so cute. Thanks for joining us at Sunday Stamps, its always a treat to see you in the gallery!
