PP480 Sweet Friend

Hi peeps!  Happy Sunday, and happy March!  I am glad February is was a long, boring month to me, LOL!  It's time for another Paper Players challenge, and Anne Marie has an awesome challenge for us...Heat Embossing!  Woohoo!  Who doesn't remember that first time they saw embossing powder magically melt into a fabulous shiny image?!  So cool!

This was a perfect challenge for me, as I had this large flower from Beautiful Day already heat-embossed in Gold embossing powder on Thick White cardstock, but decided against using it on my original project!  I paired it with some Golden Honey Specialty DSP and some Gold Foil for my card today:

I also embossed the Gold Foil with the speckle image from Gallery Grunge...(it looks a wee bit like an animal print to me, I am going to have to ink it up and experiment with it some more!!), and I also embossed the sentiment with from Honey Bee:

It's hard to see, but there is some gold thread behind the image and sentiment as well!  I mounted everything on a white card base and left the inside blank, ready for an occasion as I need it!  I also used the Freshly Made Sketches sketch, but I was going from memory, and I put the sentiment in the wrong spot!! Duh!

Anyway, I hope you'll get out your heat gun and your embossing powders and get to work for our Paper Players challenge this week!  Be sure to hop over to the Paper Players blog and see what the DT created...then share yours with us too!

Cassidy earned another belt this week!  (Sorry the pix aren't real clear)

Thanks for popping in!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

And a happy March to you too LeAnne! Mine is shaping up to be super busy, but I still am keen to leave Winter behind and see Spring at last! I love the bold flower against the dramatic background pattern on your card and the embossing on the foil gives a great effect and adds lots of texture and interest - I must give it a try! This is a great example of how heat embossing can really make a card. Congratulations to Cassidy on her new belt too - she is becoming a force to be reckoned with!

LeAnne I've told all of my grandkids that it was magical powder - I tend to believe it myself!
LOve the drama you've added today with the black and gold - so gorgeous!
I'm still searching for a gold embossing powder that has great dimension, color - and doesn't burn away!
Miss C! congratulations!

Wow! I just love how the gold pops on the black. You are so right, that print from Gallery Grunge DOES look like animal print. I never even noticed it until you mentioned it. I do love the effect of gold on gold embossing though. Very pretty! Congratulations to Miss Cassidy on her new belt. That's so awesome!
