TCC160 Thankful Sunflowers

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  It's time for a lovely new Card Concept challenge, where we tell our card-making style!  Here's the prompt for today, which happens to be the first day of fall:

I anticipated seeing a lot of big, bold sunflowers in our DT gallery, so I turned and went in another direction!  I still have this sweet little hostess set from 2005 called Provencal, and remembered this little bouquet of sunflower, so I stamped it in Stazon ink on a piece of Shimmery White cardstock and got out my inks and aquapainter:

It was quick and easy to color in!

I then added some plaid and woodgrain papers for my background, as well as some Daffodil Delight crinkled ribbon, a couple of green epoxy drops, and a sweet little sentiment from Sparkle of the Season:

It is always fun pulling out some of my older stamps and showing them some love!  I'd say this is my usual "clean and layered" style....I can't see to get away from it!  I hope you'll play along with us as well!  Be sure to check out what all the styles are on the Card Concept blog, and while you're there, check out what the DT has created for you to peruse!  Thanks for visiting today!

CAS On Sunday 214 Pretty Pumpkins

Hi everyone!  When we were growing up, pumpkins were ONE color---orange!  Now they're every color under the sun!  I thought it would be fun to recreate some unusual ones, and I tucked in a little pale orange one as well:

I stamped my plethora of pumpkins on Shimmery White cardstock using Gray Granite and Versamark ink in my Stamparatus, so that I could heat-emboss them with Clear embossing powder.  That allowed me to watercolor them without the outlines bleeding:

I added a strip of Pale Papaya DSP on which I stamped a wee little sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs.  It all went on a Very Vanilla card base, embossed with the Timeless Textures embossing folder.  I used the sketch from CAS on Sunday:

So happy you popped in today!

SSC266 Trickster

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope your weekend was great!  Mine was very productive!  I managed to make a cute Halloween card, using the sketch from Sunday Stamps:

First, though, my inspiration!  We went to visit a friend from church at his nursing home and they were having a little fundraiser fair, so I bought this cute Halloween notepad...I am a sucker for vintage Halloween stuff:

When I looked at that cat, I immediately thought of a stamp I bought several years ago, so I set out to recreate it a wee bit:

I stamped that smiling kitty on some Bumblebee cardstock and sponged around it with Baked Brown Sugar ink to give it a vintage look.  I colored in his nose to match the notecard, then I added some Halloween print papers and layered them on a Pumpkin Pie mat stamped with some vintage stars.

The sentiment came with the set, so I stamped that, then colored it in with some Blends and gave it a couple of smudges as well:

I added some glimmer stars and moon, then stamped this fun sentiment from an older Close to My Heart set:

I had a lot of fun making this one!  Thanks for popping in today!

I happened to see two fledgling bluebirds outside my craft window on Saturday...it was a sunny day, and they found my birdbath.  One of them took quite a lengthy bath, he was a riot to watch.  The photos are through my screen, so they're not the best, but hopefully you'll get the gist!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP559 CAS Fall Fun

Hi there peeps!  It's time for a new Paper Players challenge with the talented Claire as our hostess!  It's CLEAN AND SIMPLE week!!!  Here we go:

I probably didn't follow the guidelines too much for my CAS card today; my "white" space is Cajun Craze, and there's not supposed to be any pattern, and I used the Stitched Greenery die to add some interest to it!  Hopefully the rest is CAS enough!  So here it is:

This image is from a 1999 SU set called Fall for All, and in keeping with the CAS theme, I simply stamped it and left it uncolored.  I added a sentiment from Banner Year and a few falling leaves!  Simple and easy!

I hope you can play along with the Players this week and share your CAS "Fall Fun" creation with us!  Be sure to check out what the DT created as well!  Thanks for stopping by!

Everyone loves shopping and getting some new goodies...even if it's only a little purse!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PCC444 Whittle Halloween

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Hope you have a nice weekend planned!  I haven't played with the Paper Craft Crew challenge for a looooong time and thought their recent sketch was kind of fun:

I pulled out some Memory Box Whittle Halloween dies along with an Avery Elle starry wreath die and went to work:

This was a wee bit time-consuming, but I just love all these little dies....soooo cute!  I cut the wreath from some orange glimmer paper and mounted it on a star-embossed panel. I diecut the cat, pumpkins, broom and witch, then assembled them all on three pieces of Cute Halloween DSP and a stitched rectangle of Smoky Slate.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, a set I'll never part with, and diecut with an Ornate Frames die!  Thanks for visiting today!

AYSI259 From Meow to You

Happy Friday, peeps!  It's time for a new As You See It challenge, and this is a FUN one--literally and figuratively!  And don't be like me and miss the SPEED stamping part of it!  Ten minutes or less!!! Uh oh, I had to go back to square one!  Here's our prompt:

I had just gotten the Impression Obsession cats...they were too cute to pass up and I thought I could use them for several cat-lovers I know!  So our challenge was perfect to get them inky!  Here we go:

I lined up all the kitties on my Stamparatus and inked them up with Memento Black ink...it took a few attempts to get them fully inked, but I managed to get pretty good images!  I mounted my Basic White panel on a Granny Apple Green card to add some color, then stamped my sentiments and added a few sequins for fun:

And this fun sentiment went on the inside!  Cute and easy!  Took just a few seconds over 7 minutes, I did get interrupted by a phone call, so hopefully that was a close time!  And since the Krafty Chicks are having their CAS week, I am going to submit it there as well!

Now, would you like to see my original card that took just a little bit longer to make:

I fussy cut my cats out after stamping them on white cardstock, then stamped the one of the left directly on to the patterned paper so I could get his whiskers in there!  They were popped up with mini black dimensionals:

And here is the inside:

I hope you'll search your funny or whimsical stamps and come create something to tickle someone's funny bone!  Just make sure you get it done within TEN minutes!  Then come share it with us at As You See It!  Thanks for visiting today!

I think my daughter sent me this photo TO BE FUNNY because she knows I can't stand eating anything blue!!  Yuck!  And just look at the expression on Cassidy's face!  I can hear Dana saying "Let's send this picture to Grammy because we know she hates blue food!"

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB167 Hello Fall

Hi everyone!  It's Thursday and that means a new Inspired By!  Here are our two choices this week, aren't they gorgeous?

Great sketch as well!!!

My stampin' mojo has gone missing lately, and I feel like I struggled a bit with my card today; the inspiration photos are gorgeous, I just haven't been focused enough, I guess!  Anyway, I actually used the FMS sketch this week but my foliage is so "lush" that it's hard to see, so I'll not enter it,   but my friends said I should enter it!!!  So here we go:

And here's the FMS sketch:

I used the top photo as my inspiration, diecutting three woodgrain squares, then sponging some white craft ink, then Seaside Spray on them to tone them down a little.  I used Forever Flourishing dies for the greenery, sponging the Sage Shadow ones with some white craft ink as well, then adding some Evening Evergreen ones poking out from behind.  The yellow berries are from the Poinsettia dies, and I added some Metallic pearls and a wee bit of Lost Lagoon ribbon to "tie" it all together:

A sentiment from my trusty Wreath for All Seasons from Papertrey provided my sentiment.  The main panel is Naturals White, diecut with a Wonky Stitched die and it was mounted on an Early Espresso card base:

I hope you'll find some inspiration in either of these photos, or the sketch, or both!  Hope to see you in the Inspired By gallery with whatever you create!  Thanks for popping in today!

I am pretty sure I forgot to post this picture -- the family went to a monster truck race...that thing IS a monster!  Oh, and she got her boot off Monday!  YAY!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
