FMS99

DSCF7360

Happy Thursday, everyone!  What a gorgeous day we had yesterday! I am afraid we are having our September in August……and we might have our August in September, yikes!  Anyway, August 17 is rolling around…and that is Cassidy’s third birthday!  So when I saw Rita’s lovely sketch for the Freshly Made Sketches this week, I knew I would use it to make my wee DGD’s card!  First, here’s the sketch:
Ah, she had me when I saw the three circles!  I used images from A Fitting Occasion, and since they are small, I made my card notecard sized:

Cassidy will be the first one to tell you that her favorite color is GREEN!  So Grammy made sure there was some green in here, along with some other yummy colors:

I think cutting out those three candles is the tiniest fussy-cutting I’ve ever done!  And then the inside:

Oh my, how can she be three already?!  Here are some pictures of her eating a mini cupcake from a week or so ago….not her birthday cupcakes, but another batch I made.  Needless to say, eating a cupcake to Cassidy means just eating the frosting….a girl after my own heart!

The Kraft Journal Sew-So Simple

DSCF7317

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Just a quick little card today for The Kraft Journal’s Make it Monday challenge---Sew-So Simple.  I used some October Afternoon DP that looks like a dress pattern and added a Crumb Cake mat and tag cut with the Chalk Talk die, along with some stitching and sewing-related embellishments:

I colored the dresses with some ink and an aquapainter to add a little color, and added a couple scraps of shabby seam binding and lace, and a little banner for some interest:

I stopped putting buttons on my cards, unless they are paper diecut buttons, because of the additional postage, but I really wanted to add a vintage button to this, and I figured if I was going to add one, I might as well add a few, LOL!  These came from my can of buttons….I have lots & lots & lots of buttons!   The sentiment and spool are from Cornish Heritage Farms.  Thanks for looking!

ColourQ202 & CCMC263

DSCF7313

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Popping in today with another ColourQ challenge:

I was wishing I had one of those big doily stamps, but I decided to go a different route and use a new SU set, A Round Array:

I combined it with some various DPs in the challenge colors, stamping each little element in Basic Gray and Ruby Red, then cutting out the centers and popping them up:

I also used the cool sketch from this week’s Create with Connie & Mary:

CCMC263

For some added interest, I embossed diagonal lines on the card front, added some washi tape, baker’s twine, ribbon and candy dots!  The sentiment is from Remembering Your Birthday.   I like that this isn’t frilly & girly…..but still a fun birthday card.  I have a few friends that might like this card!  Hope you can play with us this week—can’t wait to see what you come up with once you slap on your creative thinking cap!

Merry Monday 70

DSCF7298

Hey, peeps!  It’s Monday---wow, the weekend went fast, didn’t it?  Popping in quickly for the latest Merry Monday sketch:

One of these weeks I am going to make a non-vintage Christmas card—I promise!  I just have so many vintage-themed images, I can’t stop!  This one has very little stamping:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Merry Monday 70 Christmas

I found some old Basic Grey paper already trimmed to size, so I went in search of something to complement it.  I came up with this sticker but it was a wee bit too small, so I added an oval and scallop mat.  The image is faint; here’s a better look; I added some antique glitter around the edge:

DSCF7300

I used some Mellow Moss and Cherry Cobbler cardstocks, stamping a pine branch first on the MM piece.  After stamping my sentiment and adding some seam binding, I thought it still looked a little bare, so I added a diecut bell in Brushed Gold cardstock:

That’s better!  How about you?  Have you been participating in the Merry Monday challenges?  There’s still time to get a head start on your Christmas card!  Use the sketch and show us your creation!  You can find it all on Lesley’s blog, Always Playing with Paper!  And be sure to check out the amazing samples from her talented design team as well!

Paper Players 158

DSCF7296-001

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It’s going to be a glorious day here in PA, and I think we’ll spend some time today on the sailboat!  But first, let’s take a peek at Sandy’s first Paper Players challenge:

Yummy, aren’t they?  I was feeling a bit rebellious, and figuring that most of the designers would go for florals, because these are lovely colors for florals, so I decided to go for a grungy/washi look:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 158 Tape It

I had originally begun with a CAS sketch but it sort of got away from me!  I stamped various washi images from Tape it along the left, added some splatters & lines from Gorgeous Grunge and finished it off with a couple of sentiments.

DSCF7295

And since I had my Sharpies on my desk from yesterday’s card, I colored up some rhinestones and added them on too!

So, now what will you do with these summery, sherbet-y colors?  Be sure to share your creation with us at the Paper Players blog, and check out the design team’s creations as well!

PPA167 & WAW

DSCF7287

Yay, it’s Friday, peeps!  Now if the sun would just come out and stay out here in PA, I would be happy!!  But speaking of happy, check out these happy colors from the Pals Paper Arts gals:
PPA166

I used a mixture of new and “vintage” products for my card today:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings PPA167

I used an older Deconstructed Sketch for my layout, #112; the sentiment is from one of the very first SU stamps I purchased, Say it with Scriptures….and sadly, it is so old, the rubber has deteriorated a bit and I am not getting good impressions.  Anyone have one they’d like to part with?  I may have to check eBay for a good deal!  I embossed the textured cardstock panels with the SAB Vine Street EF and added a few embellishments.  I colored the center of my Pistachio Pudding embellishment with a Sharpie, just to highlight it a bit:

DSCF7289

I think these colors are just lovely together!  What do you think?  This is also for Word Art Wednesday, where they have an “Anything Goes” challenge!

The garage project is progressing….we have a big hole in the ground!  They poured footers Wednesday and a whole inviting pile of stone was dumped in the driveway!  Cassidy & my great-nephew Jack couldn’t resist the climb:

Cassidy was definitely queen of the hill!  Thanks for visiting today!
