Vintage Valentine

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I have a little Valentine card for you today; it fulfills two challenges:  the As You See It challenge wants to know what our "crafting resolution" is for the 2025, and the Freshly Made Sketches has a lovely, as usual, sketch:

My crafting resolution is to use more embossing folders this year!  They really add such a nice touch and I don't use them enough!  So here we go:

I haven't done any "vintage" in a long time, so I decided to remedy that with my Valentine.  The printed hearts are all cut out from some papers from a book I picked up at a yard sale; it's from 1887 and called Spelling and Language book.  I used some different heart dies to cut some from Cherry Cobbler cardstock as well, and used some gold glimmer paper for the arrow.

I used the Distressed Tile, Eyelet and Tin Tile embossing folders to create the layers, then added some Pecan Pie shading.  The scallops are Crumb Cake, and I added a Cherry Cobbler baker's twine bow.  The sentiment is from the retired Six Sayings; I stamped it on a plain piece from the book.  Here's the inside, using a sentiment from the retired Holiday Best.

It was fun adding all the layers and elements!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Minimalist Purple Thanks

Happy Wednesday, peeps! Yay, the middle of the week is here!  I have a zippity-quick CAS card that took longer to look up the age of the stamps than it did to actually stamp them!  Yes, it's for the Retro Rubber challenge, which is a color palette, as well as the CAS Colours & Sketches sketch:

So here we go:

My foliage is from Little Delights (2021), stamped in Blackberry Bliss and Highland Heather, with the little spots from Label Me Bold (2020), stamped in Purple Posey:

The sentiment is also from Label Me Bold, (which I now realize is in the wrong spot!), and fussy cut.  It went on a Purple Posey card base, and a sentiment from Little Delights was stamped inside as well! I was going to add a sequin but decided to keep it really clean and simple!

I really like the simplicity of this!

An out-of-town friend came and spent the night last week and when she got in her car early Saturday morning, found these on her window:

Aren't they pretty?  These beautiful crystals reminded me of something I read in my Bible study yesterday:  "So, enjoy the art around you, but as you do, may your heart run to the artist behind the art." Paul David Tripp

Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC614 Perennial Lavender Birthday

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  The sketch from Atlantic Hearts this week is really sweet....it gave me a chance to use up some scraps from the Perennial Lavender DSP that I had!  Here's the sketch:

I did some layering of the DSP, then added a birthday sentiment from Sketched Butterflies along with a dotty circle from the retired Perfectly Wrapped.  Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather cardstocks were used for the circular mats, and the same DSP was used to create some leaves using the Stippled Roses dies.

Those pretty sequins are a freebie from Sale-a-bration, gotta love that!

You can go to the AHSC blog page tomorrow to see ALL the designers' creations!  Get some inspiration and share yours with us too!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Spotlight on Storybook Moments

Happy Monday, all!  I am a wee bit worn out from my weekend activities, but all went well! I don't have any challenge cards today, but I thought I would spotlight a few cards that I made last week to highlight the cute patterns and cut-outs from the Storybook Moments Specialty Papers.  They're really sweet if you have children or grandchildren, or if you're a scrapper, but even if you're not, they make beautiful cards!  Here we go:

This is probably my favorite card from the bunch (and I have lots more!); I just think this little mama and her ducklings are the cutest, and I love the background paper! I added a sentiment from Country Birdhouse and some Lemon Lolly Baker's Twine:

On this one, I let the paper do most of the work; another sentiment from Country Birdhouse:

plus a little fussy-cut embellishment:

This card uses one of the little pop-out images, and I added a sentiment from Simply Said:

I diecut the cottage and popped it up along with this little critter:

And finally, a couple more pop-outs on that same delightful paper;

this time I added a white Nested Essential diecut:

and an Easter sentiment from Choose Happy:

Stay tuned for more samples from this pack!  Thanks for visiting on this Monday, and enjoy your day and be blessed!  (If you need any details, just shoot me a line!)

PP722 A Sketch from Joanne

Happy Sunday, all! This will be short & sweet as I am having my hostess appreciation party today! Love getting together with my stampers, and I don't think we'll have any SNOW to ruin it!

It's Joanne's turn to be the hostess at the Players this week and she has an awesome sketch:

I thought this would be a great sketch with which to use some of the new Timeless Plaid papers; here we go:

I used the retired Biggest Wish to stamp my sentiments, and a little lure from the Gone Fishing set was an accent.  I cut two sets of banners from Lost Lagoon and Basic White for a simple embellishment.

I needed a masculine birthday card for an older gentleman at church and I knows he likes to fish, so this is for him!  I hope you'll play along with our sketch this week, there are endless possibilities!  Check out what the DT created over at the Paper Players blog and be inspired!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC613 Celebrate

Hello, stampers!  The Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge for this week is a great, simple one:

I went pretty literal with it, and it gave me the chance to use the colors from the current Color Hues challenge:

I pulled out some Night of Navy, Granny Apple Green and Lemon Lime Twist products and went to work:

The Night of Navy card was embossed with a star embossing folder, and I diecut some stars from matching DSPs.  The "celebrate" and the smaller stars are diecut from Granny Apple Green foil, even though they look gold in the photo:

I also added a little line of embossing for fun!  The inside uses a sentiment from Hooray for Surprises:

I think this is a great sketch as well as a great color combo, especially for masculine cards!  I hope you'll play along with our Atlantic Hearts sketch this week too!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

52CCT Love & Joy

Happy Monday, peeps! A cold, snowy morning here in SE PA and I have just the card to share with you!!  The 52 Christmas Card Throwdown wants to see a wild animal on our holiday cards!

The Winter Meadow DSP has a deer featured on one of its patterns and although it's not a very interesting shade of gray, I do like the background trees!  So here we go:

For my sentiment, I used the new Bright Borders stamp, heat embossed with white ink on Basic Gray, and punched it out with the matching To The Point Label punch.  The sentiment inside is from Greetings of the Season, which fit nicely;

I added a few metallic pearls to the front, then stamped another sentiment from the Greetings of the Season set inside:

I've been pretty lax on starting my Christmas cards this year, so I am happy to finally begin to add to my stash!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP721 CAS From Jaydee

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess this week, and she's got a Clean and Simple one for us:

How fun! I don't think we've ever had one of these challenge themes before! I admit that when I first started to create my card, I totally spaced on the "CAS" part!  So this may be a little more layered than I would normally make!  Anyway, here we go:

I pulled out the retired set Sealed with Love, along with the matching dies Love Notes, to create my card today. This set is one of my all-time favorite Valentine sets!  The new In Color of Petunia Pop seemed like a fun color to create my little love note:

I used the Petunia Pop DSP to create my envelope, added the little love note and the diecut hearts along the edge. I also embossed the white panel with the Fun Patterns EF.  A fun little sequin added some sparkle! On the inside a sentiment from Unity's November 24 Kit of the Month, along with a couple of other elements from the Sealed with Love set:

I hope you'll play along with our Paper Players challenge this week....remember to keep it clean and simple!  Check out what the DT created as well over at the PP blog!  Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

JAI734 New Little Birdie

Happy Saturday, peeps! Sitting here waiting for the impending snow---well, not until tomorrow but you know how it is....do we have enough bread? Milk? Books to read? Etc!  I think we're well-stocked!  I wanted to share a card I made recently which happens to fit the Just Add Ink challenge of something new:

I've been hankering to use this fun little snowbird image ever since I got it a couple months ago and finally had a chance to ink her up:

I already had my Petunia Pop inkpad on my desk from another project, so I just went with it again; the little bird image is so detailed, you could stamp it in just about any color and it would look cute:

I added some DSP and a Spotlight on Nature circle die, along with the sentiment that also comes with the Unity set called Every Step of the Way, which is the November Kit of the Month.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to stay warm and safe and blessed as well!

FMS669 Be My Valentine

Happy Friday, peeps! I have been MIA, just haven't felt much like posting lately!  This cold still has me down!  I was intrigued by the sketch from FMS though and just had to play along:

I pulled out an older SU set called PS: I Love You, and paired it with the Adoring Hearts hybrid folder & die, as well as an older embossing folder to create my Valentine card:

I diecut three hearts and backed them with three Real Red hearts to make them stand out a bit from the embossed background.  I stamped the punched the sentiment in Real Red as well:

And I jazzed up the inside a swell:

I am also entering this at Krafty Chicks, where their challenge is Clean and Simple:

AYSI339 To My Friend

Happy Tuesday, peeps! The As You See It challenge this week is quite interesting; I am sure I would never have thought to put these colors together, but since I love a challenge, I jumped on it!  Here's their prompt:

I've been playing with the Terrific Toadstools set, so I decided to try my hand at using the challenge colors with it:

I have resisted anything toadstool-related up until this point when I finally caved. It is a fun little set! The papers that coordinate with this set are bright and cheerful, but I used some Peach Parfait DSP for this one.  I stamped my toadstools in the challenge colors and added a sentiment in Basic Gray:

I did add some of my own dots to the little ladybug as well as to the stems of the toadstools, just to add some interest!  I used Spotlight on Nature dies for the circle and Perennial Postage dies for the mat and sentiment.  Certainly an interesting color combo for sure!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed...and warm, if it's as cold where you live as it is here in PA!
