FMS372 Times Two

Happy Friday, everyone!  The sun is shining, which is a plus today, even if the temps are still way down low on the thermometer!  I have two cards to share, both using the FMS sketch from my sweet friend Linda:

This is a fun, basic sketch that has tons of possibilities!  I needed two birthday cards to finish out  my January church birthdays, one for an ornery man who always keeps me laughing and one for a lady!  So here we go:

This Animal Expedition DSP always challenges me--its cute juvenile images don't always lend themselves to my style of card-making, but I thought these giraffes would work great for the vertical panel!  I fussy-cut two of them out, added DSP and a birthday sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays (sorry, this isn't following my backwards alphabet challenge, LOL).  This particular sentiment works great with one of the stitched rectangle dies:

My second one basically lets the Botanical Butterfly DSP (a SAB item) do most of the work!  I flipped the sketch so that big beautiful butterfly would take center stage, and I added a Basketweave-embossed background along with two stitched scalloped borders from the Be Mine dies and another birthday sentiment:

I also made a third card using this same design, but a little simpler without the embossing!  Thanks for popping in today to visit!

I thought I would share a picture that Cassidy drew of my dad!  We brought up some of the gazillion note pads he had at his house (he never threw anything away), so she used one of them for her artwork.  She did pretty good at spelling "remembrance" too--and nailed his plaid shirt as well:

And this is what we'll be dealing with this weekend at his house; he was an antique tool collector and my sister, bless her heart, has been trying to sort through thousands of plumb bobs, planes, rulers, hammers, saws and other miscellaneous stuff to put up for auction. And this is only part of it!!! This is his living room....there are three other rooms in the house that are almost as full as this one!!

Farmers never get rid of anything...they might need it; even if they haven't farmed since 1972, LOL!!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Love your dynamic duo of cute birthday cards! Those giraffe are so cute, perfect for the long skinny sketch panel! I love the butterflies too. That DSP is just gorgeous. Looks like your in for a fun weekend sorting tools. At least it will keep inside where it's warm!

Oh those giraffes!! This is a winner for sure, it's so cute and a clever use of the sketch! The butterfly card is lovely too. But I think Cassidy's artwork is the winner tonight. What a sweet little keepsake to tuck away. Wowza, that's a lot of tools!

I think most humans are collectors. I know I am. If it's not crafty supplies, it's vintage Fiesta ware dishes. We just all have different tastes in what we collect. What a job you've had though! I love your cards. Not sure I can pick a fave, but I sure do like the way you've used the giraffes and I also love the two green DSPs together. Cass is just precious!

Nice cards. My fave is the Giraffe and that is DP? Great job. Whoa....many many tools and more rooms like that. Goodness, a lot to sort through. Cassidy is so precious. Great job sweetie. Just adore her.

Well, you really threw my spreadsheet off that I was creating for your stamp sets...lol...just kidding. I'm glad you used this because my set is very dusty as is the DSP. Great take on the sketch...love it! Cass did a wonderful job of capturing your father. Oh, boy, Perry collected planes but nothing else in the tool line.

Love both your cards LeAnne! The giraffes are super cute and that butterfly paper is just gorgeous! You are so sweet to make cards for people at church - especially the ornery ones!! That is a lot of antique tools! I couldn't even imagine trying to sort through that! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!
