Happy Sunday, peeps! Hope your weekend is going well! Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess today and she has a fabulous sketch that is fun and easy:
I actually made two cards with this sketch, and I used the gorgeous Petal Promenade DSP for them; these papers are so pretty, it's easy as pie to make a card in a snap. And I'll give you a little hint to help you with matching up those angled pieces! So here we go:
I used both sides of one selection of DSP; you can see the sketch looks great going either way! To get perfect cuts, cut two pieces of DSP (mine were 4" x 5 1/4"), then flip one over and stack them together. So you'll have two pieces but different sides will be facing up. Cut them at the angle you choose; I didn't use any mathematical calculations, I just stuck them in my cutter and went for it! Just make sure your pieces are stacked evenly! When you take them apart, you'll see how they match nicely....tada! Each card will have the same sketch but the patterns will be reversed. For both cards, I used a sentiment from Stitched All Around, stamped in Blushing Bride and diecut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits:
I cut a narrow strip of Sweet Sugar Plum glimmer paper to put behind the "seam" for a little glam! On the next card, I turned the sketch, and I also trimmed a wee bit off of each short edge of the DSP so that the glimmer paper would show through a little more:
These are so pretty, I didn't add a single thing more as an embellishment! I finished it by stamping the other large sentiment from the set on the inside!
The DT has come up with a fun array of samples to get your creative juices flowing! Please be sure to share yours with us as well at the Paper Players! You can check the DT samples out here:
Do any of you craft like this?!!!
Enjoy your day and be blessed!

What a pretty pair of cards LeAnne! Those papers are so beautiful - I’m struggling to cut mine, but your cards show they are there to be used. The addition of the simple strip of glimmer adds a lovely touch of glamour to your cards and joins your patterns beautifully. As for Cassidy - I’m guessing she is deep in concentration - I’m wondering if she has her tongue out too!
Cassidy's stance is hilarious but I guess it does bring her closer to her project. Love the colors that girl wears! Thanks so much for the tip with the paper. I have a difficult time with angles. Beautiful cards. Have a blessed day and hope all goes well today.
This is such pretty DSP.....makes pretty cards!
So pretty!
What a lovely pair of cards Leanne! That DSP is fabulous! It amazed me the way kids can get so acrobatic and flexible in everything they do!
What beautiful cards and beautiful papers, LeAnne! I wish I'd done what you did with this sketch, use a different pattern top and bottom. Mine is too chevron-y!
Those papers are seriously gorgeous. I have resisted them as I'm sure they'd end up in my 'too pretty to use' pile! Sweet and simple, so just perfect.
Beautiful paper...beautiful cards, LeAnne! I love the touch of glimmer paper. Love the picture of Cassidy! Too cute!
Great idea...and that paper is SO pretty! And NO I don't craft like that..LOL.. oh to be young again!!!
LeAnne, I love that you turned the sketch. It works well both ways. I also love that wonder DSP. The touch of glimmer paper really adds another touch of sophistication. Gorgeous. Thank you for rocking my sketch this week
Hugs
Jaydee
LeAnne, this is soooo pretty! That gorgeous DSP is perfect for this sketch! The pink glitter adds jus the right amount of bling! Now, on to Cassidy! I wish my legs would still do this! LOL She is a doll! Have a lovely weekend! XX
LeAnne, this is one of those DSP packs that is even prettier in person. The patterns are so gorgeous and I love how you featured both sides of the paper. The pop of pink sparkle is the perfect finishing touch!
