Mojo460 and CC185 Bunches of Blue

Happy Tuesday, all!  My card today is a monochromatic one using Swirly Bird and the Swirls & Scribbles thinlets.  It was a happy coincidence that I already had these colors out, and they fit the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge:

And the Mojo Monday sketch seemed like a fun one:

Despite the fact that I LOVE blues, I really struggled with this card....what was in my mind just didn't translate to the finished product! But I spent so much time on it, I kept at it and finally came up with this....still not my favorite of all time, but I do love the little hand-stamped DSP, so I will try that particular pattern again!  Anyway, the vertical panel is Dapper Denim, embossed with the Woodland folder; the main panel is Marina Mist, stamped with the Swirly Bird stamp in craft white and Dapper Denim that was stamped on scrap first to give it a lighter color.  The dies are from Scribbles & Swirls and Birds & Blooms; sentiment is from Sprinkles of Life, stamped in Night of Navy.  The larger swirl is vellum.

I also cut a few leaves and placed them randomly around my wreath for a little extra interest.

I have never seen blue leaves, but in the stamping world, anything goes, right?!

A couple weeks ago we made some clay beads and they were finally dry enough to paint.  Of course, we had to glitter up a couple of them!  We strung them on a pipe cleaner, coated them with some glue and popped them in the glitter.  The rest we painted..and she painted the glittery ones too, once they dried!

Here are the finished products....we are going to string them on some ribbon and hang them on our porch as a sort of wind-chime, although they are really more for decoration than sound!

Have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by!

LeAnne I am officially converted to loving blue ... you've done it! Why it's taken so long, i'll never know! This is a master-class in layering ... MojoMonday was maybe my very first challenge! Now why am I not playing there? it's those layers! Scare me to death ... I'd much rather watch your talent for it! xx

I love the shades of blue with those swirly bird dies, and now you've tempted me! LOL What little girl doesn't like glitter I ask? She does such a nice job with her crafts all the time!

LOL. I thought that the shades of blue would be easy too but I was not pleased with myself for setting them as I struggled too! Your embossed strip really sets off the card. Thanks so much for joining us at CAS Colours & Sketches this week. Liz x
