Happy Sunday, peeps! It’s NOVEMBER! Oh my goodness! Hope you had a good trick-or-treat night, if you’re into that kind of stuff, LOL! Today, Claire has a fall challenge for us at the Paper Players:
You know how you have an idea in your head, and then it doesn’t translate quite the way you had hoped? That’s this card:
To start, I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:
I began by cutting the squares from a panel of Cajun Craze with my 1 3/8” square punch. For a template, I positioned and adhered some scrap squares along the long edge, then I punched over top of them. Behind the “windows” I adhered a panel of Soft Sky, then three Crumb Cake tree landscapes from the Sleigh Ride thinlits, each tree colored with a different colored marker:
I stamped the Hardwood background stamp on the Cajun Craze panel in Versamark, because I didn’t want it to be too dark, then added a portion of the Fabulous Four “thanks” sentiment in Early Espresso. I popped the top layer up with many dimensionals, and unfortunately, you can see a few of them along the edge. While I like the idea of these little windows, the scenes just look a bit too plain for me….I need some leaves or birds or something to add some interest! BUT….it is what it is! Hope you will play along with us as well! Check out the other designers’ creations here:
And here are a few pictures from trick-or-treating earlier this week—be prepared to be scared!!!:
A neon skeleton….no fairies, no wings, no glitter this year! I kind of miss that! Enjoy your week!

Cassidy is a darling neon skeleton.
I think this card is perfect! Your little tree scenes look good to me just the way the are. I knew you would rock this sketch!
The woodgrain Cajun Craze is perfect! I love that color! The scene you created is so lovely! You made my theme shine! Cassidy is so pretty! Even with the spooky makeup. The rainbow tutu is my favorite! XX
I agree with Jen, the little fall windows are perfect! Such a clever idea both the use of the dies and coloring the trees! It's adorable and so is Cassidy, even without fairy wings!

Adorable scary! Love the rainbow hair!
Now I know what you mean - but I for one love this card and am clearly not alone! I think the trees look great, especially with the stamped cajun craze outer and that lovely big sentiment. Perfect!!
Your card is just awesome! Love the little fall trees peeking through the windows, perfect! Awesome halloween pictures too, I'm sure that she had a blast trick-or-treating! :)
LeAnne, isn't it wonderful when little girls grow up and suddenly they don't want fairy wings :-) I LOVED Cassidy's outfit she's so pretty and the makeup wasn't..... LOVE IT. Anyway, your card. The three vignettes with the little hills and the placement of the trees is genius. I don't know what you had in mind when you started... but I think it turned out really well!
