Paper Players 135

DSCF3065

Hi everyone!  I am back from my blogging vacation, hosting the Paper Players this week with a theme challenge:  “In Stitches”!

You can use anything sewing or stitched-related on your creation, or even something funny that keeps you in stitches!

I am struggling to be creative after such a long time away from stamping, so I went fairly simple for my card, using the square Mojo Monday sketch for this week:

And here we go:

PP135-LeAnne

I used some fun new products on my card as well as some old favorites!  The First Edition paper was sewn to a square of Basic Black cardstock for starters, after stamping some images from Nature Walk in Baja Breeze.  The horizontal banners consist of a piece of vellum, stamped with the Linen background stamp (ret) in Whisper White and embossed with the stitching line from the Borders Scoring Plate, and a piece of lace from the Artisan Embellishment Kit.

The butterfly was punched from our new Canvas Creations with the Elegant Butterfly punch, mounted on a piece of Tea for Two designer paper.  I ironed some interfacing on to the back of the fabric to give it a bit of stability.  I added a flower from the Artisan Embellishment pack as well, and a pair of Itty Bitty Banners with a sentiment from Puns from the Past (ret).  And can you see the “antennae” on the butterfly….also some stitching!!!  Fun!  And since I used some vellum, this also qualifies for the Little Red Wagon challenge this week too!

I hope you’ll play along with my challenge this week.  You can find all the details, as well as the other designers’ samples, at the Paper Players blog!  See you there!

I don’t have any pictures of Cassidy to share with you, since I was away, but here’s a little peek of what I saw from my patio window each morning:

You might be able to tell from my wild hairdo that it was quite windy….in Puerto Rico!  We had a lovely time but I am glad to be home, even if the temps are not in the 80s here in Pennsylvania!  (This was pre-sunburn!  And my nose is peeling now, LOL!!!)
