ColourQ95

Yum yum, I just loved the colors that Arielle chose today, although the inspiration photo creeped me out just a teeny little bit:

When I was a kid, I could hear owls “hoo-hooing” all summer long in the woods around our house late at night.  It used to frighten me –I probably thought they were going to fly into my open window!  Now, I love hearing owls, but Mr Owl here with his one eye opened and one eye closed, is a tiny bit scary!!!  He is rather dapper, though, but I chose to interpret his colors in a different way:

I really wish you could see this IRL, it’s quite pretty!  Here are a couple closer views:

I stamped the butterflies from Kindness Matters in Early Espresso on Vellum cardstock, colored them on the back with coordinating markers, then outlined them with a Gelly Roll pen.   Can you see the sparkle?  Soooo pretty!  The words from Nature Walk are also stamped on the front in Craft White ink.   A sentiment from Bring on the Cake as well as a little ruffle of Patterns DP finishes this simple card.  I added some additional interest by adding a Calypso Coral “w” for the first letter.

I hope you’ll find some inspiration in these colors and flutter on over to the ColourQ blog, not only to see what the other designers have made, but to play along with us as well!

Thanks for the inspiration. I was thrilled to say hello to you at convention! I KNOW I will continue to be inspired by your cards. This card is beautiful. Sometimes I see color challanges and think, "Really?" Then you go and do a beautiful job using the colors. Thanks again.

Oh my gosh that vellum strip is gorgeous! I love the butterflies and the circle behind the center one. Love how that's repeated with the "w" in the sentiment! So clever!
