Redwork Christmas

DSCF8104

I finally had a little time to stamp today; the weather is very unsettled and my internet connection is sporadic! I used the Stamping 411 sketch for my weekly Christmas card:

I had been wanting to use one of my favorite retired SU sets, Winter is Calling, and this sketch seemed to have just the right size panel!  I am not sure though, I think having the mittens AND the little pooch may have been a bit too much:

I had fun making the little mittens to match the borders from the Simply Scrappin kit, Christmas Jingle.  They seemed to be a perfect match for my images!  Another card to add to my stash!  TFL!

On another fun note, my niece Kelly and her friends had a bridal shower yesterday for her brother’s fiance, Allyson.  She really outdid herself making all the desserts, using a green and yellow theme (think John Deere!!!), including an adorable candy “bar”:

Cupcakes and cake pops ala Bakerella:

and a cake that Kelly decorated after taking a Wilton course:

Chocolate cowboy boots and hats!!!

Allyson in her “veil”":

This was a total surprise to her, so it took a little bit of regaining her composure to get to this point!  But she thoroughly enjoyed herself once she got over the shock!  Of course, what bridal shower is complete without the standard toilet-paper wedding dress contest?  Oh my goodness!

The funny-looking one in the dark t-shirt is me!!  The winner was the Grecian-themed one, second from the right!  At least the mother of the bride, standing next to me, was a good sport too!

And cutting into that beautiful cake:

Kelly and Allyson are very sweet girls and I was glad to be a part of this special day!
