PP781 Extreme Dirt Bike Birthday

Happy Sunday, all!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge and Jan is our hostess with an interesting color challenge:

I confess that my first thought when seeing these colors was to use them with my beloved bumblebees---perfect colors, don't you think?  BUT I needed a birthday card for my nephew Jameson, and he loves dirt bikes, so I switched gears (no pun intended) and went in a different direction:

I started by stamping some grunge elements in Smoky Slate and Daffodil Delight, then stamped the biker with Stazaon Black ink.  I added some stitched lines to look like tracks, then a simple birthday sentiment and some gray metal embellishments.

It went on a Smoky Slate card base with this sentiment on the inside:

I may have used this same stamp on his card last year (can't remember) but I hope he doesn't mind!  Here's a photo of Jameson (on the right) with Maven and Sawyer at Christmas!  They're all getting so big!

I hope you'll create something with these great colors this week!  Not only are they good bee colors, they're probably good for some other cool subjects as well!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Share them with us at the Players!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

I don't remember it, LeAnne - of course that doesn't prove a thing LOL! A boy doesn't really care I imagine if it's something he loves and this is such a fabulous design... love those tracks and splats! Those kids sure are growing up!

Now you've taken these colours in a totally unexpected - but wonderful - direction! The 'dirt' splatters and the bike silhouette are fabulous and the wonky stitched details are like tyre tracks. Perfect for your nephew - or any other bike-mad male. :-)

This is such a great BOY card, LeAnne! I remember when we were all using Gorgeous Grunge on everything we made, I should dust that stamp off in my collection : ) Love the effect of the yellow splats behind the cool dirt biker, and your "tracks" along the top and bottom. Totally rad, as we said in the 80s!

This biker image couldn't be more perfect for anyone that loves motocross. The grungy background and "tracks" are fabulous too. Such a great design with these colors, LeAnne!

Jameson will LOVE this card, LeAnne! The grunge elements make an amazing backdrop for the biker and his bike. The wonky lines truly look like tire tracks. What a great idea! Have a wonderful weekend!

Love this card Leanne and I'm sure Jameson will too! I have this image as an MDF file and have used it (and the skateboarder) lots of times in the past - so good for boys! The yellow grunge background makes the image standout beautifully. Great job! Love the photo too - that trio is growing fast!

LeAnne, I absolutely love your take on the colors. The yellow is such a striking background and lifts the black silhouettes. The stitching in the top left corner adds wonderful movement. All round one of my favorite cards you have ever made. I am sure Jameson loved it, too
