Happy Sunday, peeps! Time for a new Paper Players challenge with Ann as our hostess. She's got a perfectly-timed theme for us this week:
At my recent hostess appreciation party, one of my stampers gave ALL the members bags of extra ribbons she had from her stash.....I am talking TONS of ribbons! And they were all tied up in neat little bundles, too, nothing haphazard! I immediately thought about using some of those beautiful ribbons to make a card, and here's what I came up with:
My first step was to cut a heart from a panel of Pretty In Pink cardstock and emboss it with a retired embossing folder called Falling Petals. I then covered a piece of scrap white cardstock with an Adhesive Sheet and began laying on my ribbons. The stickiness of the adhesive allows you to get your ribbons nice and flat and butted up against each other. The only thing I wish I had done differently is to use a different-colored ribbon for the last strip on the right; it sort of blends in with the pink cardstock!
I added a pink glimmer bow and a little sentiment from a fun retired set called Pictograms:
And after seeing my friend Linda's card here, I remembered that I had this Valentine sentiment too, so I stamped it on the inside:
Love definitely is in the air! I hope you'll play along with our seasonal theme challenge this week! Check out what all the designers created at the Paper Players blog, then play along! Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

Ohhhh, this is so pretty and what a great way to use up that ribbon! I have always loved that embossing folder! And that glimmer paper bow is the perfect addition to your awesome card! TFS and wishing you a happy Sunday!
What a sweet gift and your idea to use them is perfect! This is a delightful card, LeAnne!
LeAnne... what a fabulous use of ribbon!
What a super way to use up ribbons, LeAnne! Falling Petals embossing folder is one of my favorites. I always thought it should have been named Falling Hearts. It's a perfect card for this week's challenge. Have a wonderful week!
Very creative card, LeAnne! I love the visual texture from all the ribbons. At first I thought it was DSP. How fun to use ribbons & a great tip on the easiest way to attach them to the cardstock. Thanks for sharing!
What a pretty way to use the ribbons. At first glance, I thought you'd used strips of DSP. I still have my Falling Hearts folder too - such a good one to have on hand. Have a lovely week. :-)
Another good way to use ribbon scraps - I'm always on the lookout for those as I have so much ribbon that doesn't seem to get used. I love the way the pinks combined - and I still have that EF too!
Such a pretty valentine, LeAnne! Your design is so clever and it's fun to see the variety of colors and patterns through the heart opening. Plus good way to use up old ribbon!
LeAnne, this is such a fun Valentine! Such a great way to use the ribbon, too! What a thoughtful friend to give all of you those little bundles. The embossed background adds so much dimension, too! That sweet little xoxo with the heart made me smile!
LeAnne, I love those ribbons and they must feel fabulous underneath the heart cut out, too. Such a fabulous, feminine and yet clean design. I love it.
hugs
