Happy Sunday, everyone! Stef is our Paper Players hostess this week with a fabulous sketch! So much fun to use some new and old products! Here's her sketch:
The Sentimental Christmas DSP has some wonderful vintage images in it (I've bought three packs already!!) but the opposite sides of the papers feature larger images that are better suited for scrapbooking. Since I don't scrapbook, I thought I would try to incorporate one of those larger patterns into my card today. Here we go:
I cut out a portion of the greenery and matted it with a piece of Pecan Pie cardstock, then fussy cut the lantern and popped it up with a little Linen Thread hanger:
In hindsight, I wish I had done some sponging around the edges, but too late now! Anyway, you can't see it, but I also added some Wink of Stella to the flame. I created a mat for the whole card using another piece of the paper, and then stamped and diecut the sentiment from Iconic Imagery on a scrap left over:
The diagonal panel was a piece of Soft Shimmer paper in Pretty Peacock from last year...what a nice touch it adds! The Greetings of the Season sentiment went on the inside:
I was really happy with the outcome and I am saving this sketch for the future! I hope you'll hop over to the Players' blog and see what lovely creations all the other designers dreamed up! Share yours with us too!
Not only did our family celebrate Thanksgiving yesterday, we also celebrated my great-nephew Coby's first birthday (and his mom is due again in January!!!):
Of course, his cousins Jameson and Sawyer had to get in some cake smashing too!
Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

LeAnne, this is such a gorgeous card. That DSP and lantern are fabulous! I love the copper and blue tones! The little twine bow is perfect. I also think that glimmer paper is an amazing addition. Such a peaceful card. Wishing you an amazing Thanksgiving, My Friend, Looks like a fun day with family and little Coby!
LeAnne... your card is gorgeous! a perfect rendition of Silent Night. Looks like Thanksgiving was great fun at your house! Congrats!
That lantern, standing proud from the background and breaking the frame is just wonderful! The stripe of blue and the soft colours give a real sense of serenity. Just beautiful!
Great way to incorporate that large image of the branches with that beautiful lantern, LeAnne! I love the pecan, copper and peacock combination throughout the card. It is absolutely beautiful!
Looks like you had a fun time celebrating Thanksgiving and a birthday! All the kids look like they had fun and no doubt your niece will have her hands full come January!
I just love this card LeAnne! These papers are very 'you' and this card has a beautifully coordinated feel. I love the addition of the Pretty Peacock glimmer paper for the diagonal and the lantern makes a lovely focal point too. Gorgeous! Thanksgiving dinner looks like a lot of fun - the boys are certainly growing up fast!
A lovely way to use this patterned piece of paper. I like that your card is quiet and reflective. So seasonally appropriate, LeAnne. Cheers, Jolanda
Beautiful, LeAnne! What a great idea to fussy-cut out the lantern! The Pretty Peacock Soft Shimmer paper was a lovely choice for the diagonal element. I also LOVE how you stamped the sentiment on the designer paper. What a perfect holiday card!
LeAnne, fussy cutting the lantern worked out beautifully. The image is perfect against that DSP. I love how you incorporated the diagonal element. Once again your card has a wonderful nostalgic feel with very modern touches. Fabulous
