AYSI098 and SIP7

DSCF1137

Happy Saturday, peeps!  A late posting today….I was busy in the kitchen but got some stamping time in and now I am going to go relax on the patio and enjoy the sunny day!  This week, the As You See It team has another “squishy” sort of eclectic sketch that I love:

AYSIChallenge098

and the Stamp, Ink Paper group has a color challenge:
 SIP Color Challenge 7
I need lots of thank you cards coming up, and this seemed to be a good match for one for my inlaws:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Typewriter Eclectic Thanks

Boy oh boy, I had fun with this one…got to use a bunch of stampin' stuff!  My sentiment was computer-generated with a font called “mom’s typewriter”—gives it a cool retro look!  I diecut it with a banner die from the Mini Treat Bag thinlet, then trimmed it a little narrower.  The star strip was from the same thinlet, and I added some Verve diecut stars as well.  The background images are from SU’s Work of Art and My Favorite Thing’s Distressed Background Blocks.  I was lamenting the fact that I had no grungy circle stamps when it occurred to me that I have lots of circular things right on my desk….my coffee mug, Crystal Effects bottle, etc., so I inked them up and stamped them right on to my paper!  OH MY GOSH, how what a blast!  Why did I never think of this before?

My final touch was a couple of candy dots, and it will be in the mail on Monday!

And as another nod to the challenge colors, I thought I would share what I made recently (another hobby to take up my stamping time!):

LeAnne Pugliese Minion Mittens Ravelry Pattern

I am making a pair of these for each of my three nephews, plus Cassidy.  The original pattern (from Ravelry HERE) shows two different Minions, but my oldest nephew wanted his both the same, so that’s what he got!  I just thought it was so funny that my mittens matched the challenge colors, LOL! Enjoy your day and be sure to come back tomorrow for the Paper Players challenge!

Nothin’ like a brand-new set of PAINTS!  And LOOK!  Her butterfly is blue and yellow!

What a great description: a 'squishy' sketch! And what a fabulous job you've made of it - it's just all round fabulous.

Love the card LeAnne - I can see this being another winner this week, so creative! As for the mittens - they are adorable!! I'm sure they will earn you 'top aunt' spot with your nephews and Cassidy, no question!

What a great use of non-stampy tools to create some great images, LeAnne! This is a great thank you card and one I'm sure your ILs will love. Love the different ways you and Cassidy incorporated the color challenges too! The minion mittens are just the coolest ever! My nephew is all about the minions too - I just ordered him a minion themed gift so I can surprise him next weekend when I see him. He'll think I'm the coolest aunt ever, but these mittens are even better than what I ordered him. I don't know how to knit (nor do I have time because I don't even have time to stamp these days!) as I would love to make these for him! If you start taking orders for these, sign me up as your first customer! :-)

That font is wonderful and you can be sure I will be using it soon too! I am now going to have inky things all over my desk as I try the trick using the objects on your desk to create stamped images. What a great design, LeAnne! You are a genius, using your desk articles as stamps! Never occurred to me either, but I'll for sure use that idea now, thanks to you! I love the mittens, too! Thanks for sharing your ideas with us at As You See It Challenges this week! BTW, can you message me about how you create the little colour swatches you use? Thanks so much!

Oh Leanne! I too am just in love with this post. Awesome dimensional card. Love the "use what you have" mentality. Such cute minions...you are one talented Jill-of-all-crafts crafter. Thanks for playing with our swishyness at AYSI.

LOVE!!! I've gotta try using the things sitting on my craft table as stamps! What a fantastic card. I LOVE the font of the sentiment too - such a smart reminder that we have unlimited "stamps" in our hands if we combine our crafting with our computers! :) Thanks for playing along with the AYSI Challenge this week! I hope you'll join us this week - the new challenge (a color challenge) is already up this morning!
