Happy Friday, everyone! Today is our 16th anniversary, so I made John a card using SU’s new Moon Lake and the spotlight technique:
First, I diecut and embossed the edge of my Crumb Cake card, then stamped the image in Crumb Cake ink, along with some Gorgeous Grunge. Then I stamped the image again on Whisper White cardstock in Stazon ink and watercolored it. I punched it out with the 1 3/4” circle punch and aligned it over the first image:
This reminds me of our little dinghy; we use it to get out to our sailboat when it is on its mooring….unfortunately, we didn’t sail at all last year, so it’s actually sitting in our backyard, LOL! I added a little banner sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, along with some Linen thread for an accent, then I adhered a cool piece of matching DSP from the Adventure Bound pack on the inside and added a sweet little sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts:
I didn’t write all my lovey-dovey stuff on it yet, saving you the embarrassment! But I am entering this in the Kraft Journal challenge 206 this week:
I actually got everything except the ribbon, glitter and snowman!! Cool challenge! I also used the sketch from Mary Jo’s Technostamper Monday Lunchtime sketch:
Thanks for visiting today….we will be going out to dinner later tonight, something I am looking forward to VERY much!
I am looking forward to spring, so we can take these things OUTSIDE!!!

Happy Anniversary, LeAnne! Your card is beautiful. The background stamping is handsome on crumb cake and your colorful scene looks like a painting! Fabulous coloring job. I hope you and John have special plans today that DON'T involve Cassidy blowing that vuvuzela in the house, LOL! ((hugs))
Happy Anniversary to you two. Love your card! 60 days or so till Spring. Yippee! I am so ready!
Happy Anniversary, LeAnne!!! Love your card! I hope you have some special plans to celebrate. Hugs!!!
Well my friend, this card is gorgeous - john is lucky in more ways than one! Happy anniversary wishes to you; enjoy dinner and I hope you survive the noise of Cassidy's lethal-looking musical instrument!!
Happy Anniversary! Have a romantic dinner tonight.
Happy Anniversary, LeAnne! Your card is gorgeous and so perfect for a masculine anniversary card. I love the stamp you used and the technique is impeccable. The twine on the sentiment is such a great way to add the nautical feel texturally. Have a wonderful dinner tonight!
Happy Anniversary. What a wonderful male card for hubby. I hope you have a wonderful evening planned and enjoy your anniversary.
Happy Anniversary! I am a silent follower of your blog and very much enjoy all your cards and inspiration. This is a lovely card and have a question about the die & embossing on the edge...is the die from Stampin' Up? I have been looking for something similar.
Happy Anniversary to you both! Love the card! Another idea, because our anniversary is coming up too.
Oh swoon, this is fabulous, LeAnne! And Happy Anniversary to you and the hubby!

I love this card today. I love how you've done this spotlighting technique with this beautiful scene. Your watercolouring is also beautiful too. This is a great sketch. You've got me rethinking this set and wanting to look for that DSP.
The embossed edge on this is beautiful-love the colors.
What gorgeous coloring and a perfect technique for this stamp set! LeAnne I can picture you and your DH rowing away in that sailboat. I hope your anniversary is happy (and romantic)!
