Two Challenges

Quick post today, gotta run!  Two challenges, the JUGS11 Technique (chalkboard) and the Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch#129

JUGS11 ssc129

This evolved into a WAY different card than I envisioned, plus I had a heck of a time trying to get a good photo.  I am not really that thrilled with it, and I may try another since this technique is so fun & easy. I think using the Nesties for the trees is awkward.   You'll just have to pretend that it looks better IRL!:

I used the chalkboard technique on Handsome Hunter using Patterned Pines and the Baroque Borders wheel, stamping in Craft White, then using Sage Shadow chalk.  I also sprayed everything with a mix of alcohol and SU's Shimmery Paint in Frost White, so there is this nice sheen:

which of course looks awful here, but is really quite nice.  I will just say that a light touch is better than a couple heavy sprays....when I dried it with my heat tool, some of the shimmer pooled up and left a "blob".....we don't need blobs of shimmer.  Just a nice even sheen!!!  But it was a fun technique to combine with the chalkboard.  You should try it!  Now off to have lunch with DD!

LeAnne! I LOVE the trees on the Nestabilities!! They look so regal! I also love the flourish on the bottom panel and the red contrast of your sentiment and little birdie :O) Oh, and I can definitely see the shimmer you created!! Thanks for the tip on that...I have to try it...after I buy the SU shimmery paint ;]

LeAnne this is magnificent - don't be so hard on yourself - it truly is an eye catcher - such great contrast against the hunter! We really appreciate you playing along with Just Us Girls and you were our first player this week - way to run up and DO IT - just like Nike!!! :-) Hugs n smiles.

You're way too hard on yourself - this card is lovely! I'll bet the shimmer just glows in person. Nice combo of colors here too!
Thanks for playing along again this week!

Love your colors, doesn't look awkward from here, I already wanted that label die, but now you made me want it more. Cool tip with the shimmer paint, will have to have some of that also.
