JUGS Challenge #9

DSCF5957-1

The JUGS team has challenged everyone to make a holiday gift container for their 3D challenge this week.  You can see the details here.  I had great plans (and still do) to do a neat treat box, but time is slipping away, so I am cheating and using a quick, simple little box I made for my dad's birthday, which happened to fall on Thanksgiving!  We don't usually exchange big gifts, but DH found a cool little flashlight at the local hardware store, so we got him that.  It fit PERFECTLY in SU's Box #2, and I had some already cut from a previous party, so I went to work decorating it with some neat Cosmo Cricket paper and some various birthday stamps:

DSCF5959 Nothing high-tech or fancy, but he was quite enamored with both the gift and the box....in fact, I told him he could LEAVE the box at my house (I could easily reuse it) but he insisted on taking it home...maybe he'll give it back to me next year, filled with something! :D

Thanks for visiting today!  If you have any questions regarding this, just shoot me an email!

Le Anne, this is such a cute gift box! Isn't it amazing what a little homespun gift can do for someone? I am so happy that you played along with the Just Us Girls template challenge! I hope you return Saturday for a fun sketch challenge hosted by Pam!

Super gift box LeAnne! Love that you made this for your dad - it just proves the point that it's all about the packaging - especially that he wanted to take it home!!! How special for you that it means so much to him. Thanks so much for playing along with Just Us Girls again :-)

I love it LeAnne! This is a fab box template...reminds me of circus animal cookies! And I love that your sweetie pie dad took his gift AND his gift box home :) That makes a crafty girl's heart sing doesn't it? Great project as always and thanks so much for playing along with Just Us Girls!

LOL...that's hilarious! I hope your dad does bring it back next year with a little something tucked inside. I'll laugh if he does :O)

Your box is totally adorable! I'm really liking SU's templates...you always make them look soooo CUTE! This reminds me of those boxes of animal crackers that used to have a string attached. Do you remember those, or am I imagining them?! LOL

Glad to hear your dad was totally enamoured with the gift. I LOVE it when someone reacts that way :) Makes all the work worth it!
