Inspired By Seashells #297

Happy Tuesday, peeps! This heat wave is really affecting my mojo....I think it just melted away!   I couldn't come up with anything amazingly original, so another beach-themed card is on deck today; this one uses a wee bit of inspiration from Inspired By's prompt:

I just got the Seaside Wishes, so I couldn't wait to put it to use, along with an older background stamp.  Here we go:

I used the Pretty in Pink starfish as my starting point and decided to keep the pink hues rather than the bright ones in the photo.  I stamped and embossed the sand dollar with Flirty Flamingo ink, and the coral (what IS that thing, anyway?) was diecut from Calypso Coral.  It was too dark for my liking, so I sponged some white ink on it to tone it down...much better!

To bring in a little blue, I stamped the cheesecloth image in Balmy Blue on Basic Beige, and added a sentiment from the same set.

My final additions were some "sand"stamped around the edges and some pink sequins!  I can't wait to play with this some more!  Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC586 Happy Summer

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a good weekend! I am still using these pretty beachy-themed papers from Not 2 Shabby called By The Shore, and I put them to use today for the Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge!  Here's the sketch:

And here we go:

I don't have any diamond-shaped dies, so I took two Stitched Triangle dies and put them together to create the center focal piece.  The smaller piece is a sweet little pattern on seashells and starfish, and I added a simple white mat.  I found some coordinating paper in an Echo Park pad called Bee Happy, and it was mounted on a Basic Beige card. The sentiment is from Choose Happy:

And I added a little starfish image from the ephemera pack, along with a Boho Blue twine bow and some beautiful sequins from Honey Bee:

I added a simple birthday sentiment on the inside!

I hope you'll play with our sketch this week, we always love to see the different interpretations!  The DT will be highlighting their own takes on the sketch on the AHSC blog on Wednesday!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP698 Friends

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Hope your weekend is going well so far!  Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess today and it's a color theme:

I admit that at first glance, I didn't know where to go with these colors; I am in full summer mode and these didn't fit my seasonal thinking! But heaven knows I have plenty of stamps, ink and paper, so this is what finally came to mind:

This little kitten image is from a whole sheet of vintage pet images from Rare Image, sadly out of business!  I stamped them in Versafine black and watercolored them in, then added a Unity sentiment.  Each diecut circle was matted with a scallop in one of the challenge colors:

I still had some Playful Pets DSP, and I added some red & black plaid DSP from Peaceful Prints, both retired, along with a little Smoky Slate stitched border.  I had an extra plaid circle that was unused, so I added this little diecut sentiment on the inside:

This color combo is great for guys, but obviously, it can be used for lots of other occasions!  I had this card out at a stamp event yesterday and a cat-loving customer bought it! So we can't wait to see how you incorporate these colors into your creation!  Be sure to share it with us at the Paper Players!

Thanks for visiting today, enjoy and be blessed!

After all this, there is only one thing to say: Have reverence for God, and obey his commands, because this is all that we were created for.  God is going to judge everything we do, whether good or bad, even things done in secret.  Eccesiastes 12:13

Holiday Greetings

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I have a quick Christmas card to share today; it uses the sketch from TGIF and is also for the Krafty Chicks Christmas challenge!

I pulled out some fun holiday papers from Violet Studio Designs and went to work:

I diecut a square postage stamp mat and added my printed paper on top; the only stamping is a little pine sprig I added to top along with a Shaded Spruce scallop:

My Concord & 9th banners were diecut with Shaded Spruce and Soft Succulent; not quite sure why it looks blurry here, LOL!

Quick and cute!  Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS644 Sweet Friend

Happy Thursday, all!  The FMS sketch was super-duper fun, a great way to use up some new papers I got recently!  Here it is:

These papers are from Not 2 Shabby and they have a sweet little sheen and a bit of heft to them, very easy to work with!  Here we go:

I stamped a sentiment from the retired Honey Bee set in Pecan Pie ink on a Stitched Labels diecut, then added a Sketched Butterflies butterfly, stamped in Calypso Coral:

I left the inside to use for whatever occasion might come up!  This was such an easy and fun sketch!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

SC&S Blessings

Hi, stamping friends!  Simply Clean & Simple is having their first anniversary, and since I needed a quick card for an older couple who just joined our church, I thought CAS would fit the bill!  I know they used to own a sailboat so the little image from Choose Happy was perfect:

My card is 4 1/4" square; I used the Perennial Postage dies to cut a square of Summer Splash DSP.  (I actually used a rectangle postage die, but ran it through twice to get the smaller shape.) I colored in the sailboat with an aquapainter and Summer Splash and Poppy Parade inks:

I added a Poppy Parade mat, and a sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs was heat embossed on a Poppy Parade banner.  I added a couple resin stars at the bottom to balance it out.  A Close to My Heart sentiment went on the inside:

When this couple first visited our rural church, the lady and I both swore we knew each other from somewhere....we live in a small community and she's a bit older than I am, so our options were limited about where we might have crossed paths.  But it came to me a couple of weeks later that we both were in a women's Bible study just before Covid!   Unfortunately we didn't get to spend too much time together until the study shut down, but we have enjoyed renewing our friendship at church!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

52 CCTD Easy Starry Christmas Card

Happy Monday, peeps! This will be quick, as it is stamp club day! I love stamping with my friends! This week's challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown is a sketch:

I searched through my huge stash of Christmas papers, found a starry print and decided to go monochromatic:

Such a great sketch and so easy to do....I just cut strips of the DSP, added a Christmas sentiment from Simon Says, then diecut some glimmer stars!

Another sentiment on the inside, and I have another card to add to my stash!

Shaded Spruce is such a great holiday color! I love it!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
