In(k)spire Me 564 Floral Hello

Happy Friday, peeps! Happy weekend! The sketch challenge at In(k)spire Me is a lovely one:

This is my favorite pattern from the Beautiful Gallery DSP, made even better because the flip side is that pretty Cloud Cover!  I used another favorite, the Layers of Beauty bundle!  Here we go:

The rose was stamped in Smoky Slate, then sponged with the stencil in Timid Tiger and Cloud Cover.  I added some Cloud Cover ribbon and a few stitched lines, then a sentiment from Simply Said:

To give the rose a distressed look, I overstamped it with the retired Sanded background stamp  in Basic Beige.  The inside was left blank until I need it for a certain occasion!

Thanks so much for popping in!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

LRW812 Sundae Funday

Happy Thursday, peeps! I have a quick card today using some new goodies I just got, along with some favorite oldies as well! The Little Red Wagon challenge is to use embossing, and I just happened to have made this fun birthday card using an Anita Jeram bunny from Colorado Craft, and the Dotted Circles embossing folder:

My bunny was stamped in Versafine black ink and color with Blends, then cut out with the retired Scalloped Contours die.  I added some sequins and a sparkly ribbon, then added a wee little tag:

My Bubble Bath card front was embossed with the EF, offsetting it a bit for some added interest.  I stamped a simple birthday sentiment on the inside, and it's ready for my next go-round of birthday cards!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

RRCB257 Shaky Snowman

Happy Wednesday, peeps! I had a thoroughly enjoyable time yesterday making a fun shaker card for the Retro Rubber challenge, which is a tic-tac-toe! I chose the diagonal of sequins, shaker and diecut:

I pulled out a set from the 2022 mini called Snowman Magic, along with the matching Snowman dies and here's what I came up with:

My background is some retired specialty DSP called Let It Snow....I've been hoarding all that I have, but I thought this pattern would make a great background for my little snowman and his red hat!  I stamped and diecut him and his bunny pal (his little redbird friend too) and then used the new two-toned Pool Party cardstock to diecut some trees.  I cut a frame from Real Red cardstock and added a bunch of sequins from my stash.  I stamped a Scrapbook.com sentiment on it before I sealed everything up:

A simple sentiment from Hope & Peace went on the inside:

This was probably the best sequin/shaker card I ever made---usually my sequins stick to the foam pieces but everything went smoothly this time! Yay!

A few pictures from Father's Day:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Set Sail

Happy Tuesday, peeps! My card today is a little out of my comfort zone; I still struggle with brayering and blending, so bear with me!  The Inspire.Create challenge wanted "water" this week, and the Color Hues challenge is looking for us to use peach and cobalt:

I thought of a sunset over the ocean, so I got some blending/masking supplies and went to work:

I brayered and sponged Blueberry Bushel and Peach Pie inks to create my scene; the sun was Calypso Coral.  I stamped and diecut the sailboat from Sailing Home with craft white ink on black cardstock.  I experiemented with different colors of ink and cardstock but this one seemed to matched the setting sun the best. I added a sentiment and seagulls from the same set.

I wanted to add some texture to the sea, but since I wanted to keep it CAS, I resisted!  The CAS on Sunday challenge is for "summer" so I kept it simple!

I can't wait for our skies to look like this sunset....so far for the last few days, the sun has been MIA. I am a bit tired of gray, gloomy weather!  Thanks for popping in today, enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC634 Christmas Postage Collage

Happy Monday, peeps! Hope you had a good weekend! It's time for a new Atlantic Hearts sketch, and I confess that this one threw me for loop!  Here we go:

I really had no idea what to do with it, but I had just received some Christmas postage stamp images, so I decided to stamp and diecut a few.  Then I remembered a few other postage stamp images I had, so I went to work.  Here's my eclectic take on the sketch:

I just love these images! Most of them are from Elizabeth Crafts; the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.  The dies are from Waffle Flower.  I used Basic Beige for the stamps themselves and a variety of colors of inks:

The card base is Crumb Cake; the inside sentiment is also from Simon Says Stamp:

I hope you'll play along with our interesting sketch this week!  It is a great one to use up some coordinating scraps of DSP, don't you think?  We can't wait to see what you do; share it with us at Atlantic Hearts!!!  Thanks for visiting today, enjoy it and be blessed!

PP748 Fresh & Fruity

Happy Sunday, peeps! Claire is our Paper Players hostess and she has a fun CLEAN-AND-SIMPLE challenge for us this week! I love it:

I realized I don't have many "fruity" stamps, but I went waaay back into my archive of older stamps and not only did I find a fruity stamp, I found paper to match!  Here we go:

This little Papertrey stamp has been around for a long time, but it's so darn cute, I can't part with it! I stamped it in Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green, then added the stem and sentiment in Early Espresso!  And check out that diecut mat....remember Kiwi Kiss?  Yep, another oldie!  My simple embellishment was some embroidery floss from my stash!  The apple paper is also from PTI, although the green scalloped paper is a mystery, LOL:

And how about this punny sentiment for the inside?!

I used the sketch from FMS, which is one of my favorites:

I sure hope you'll play along with our challenge this week!  Be sure to keep it CLEAN and SIMPLE, though---a minimum of layers and embellishments is what we want to see! Check out all the DT samples at the Paper Players blog, then share yours with us too!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI350 Jingle All The Way

Hello, stamping friends! It's Friday and that means a new As You See It challenge!  This week, we have a fun sketch for you and as you can see, it's open to interpretation:

I recently won a set of Honey Bee bell dies, thanks to the gals at Jingle Belles, and I couldn't wait to put them to use on my card!  Here we go:

I diecut them from some retired Brushed Gold cardstock, and added some red glimmer paper clappers for fun!  Each bell is embellished with a red bow, and it all went on a panel of embossed Elegant Dots:

The sentiment is from a very old My Favorite Things set and I thought it worked well with my trio of bells!  A sentiment from Scrapbook.com went on the inside:

And since the Jingle Belles' challenge this week is Fa-La-La, in other words, make a card featuring a Christmas song, I thought this would work too!  Now you'll all be singing Jingle Bells in June!

I hope you'll play along with our fun sketch! I just love things in threes, so this was a favorite of mine and I hope you'll find it appealing as well!  Share your creation with us at As You See It!  Thanks for popping in today; enjoy your day and be blessed!

JUGS779 Happy Third Birthday

Happy Thursday, peeps! The weekend is almost here! One of my great-nephews is turning three soon, so the JUGS challenge to use a number worked out perfectly:

I went with an old stand-by....Lego blocks!  Here we go:

I used 1 3/8" squares and 2 3/4" rectangles in Real Red, Granny Apple Green, Azure Afternoon and Daffodil Delight, along with a 1/2" circle punch to create my Legos.  I mounted them on an embossed panel of more Lego-like polka dots, and added a number and banner from the retired Number of Years:

An old Paper Pumpkin sentiment and some alphabet dies from Lawn Fawn finished the inside:

Thanks for popping in today! It's a gorgeous day here in SE PA, so I think I'll go outside for a bit! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people.  Remember that the Lord will give you as a reward what he has kept for his people.  For Christ is the real Master you serve." Colossians 3:23-24

Straight Up

Hi there! I am squeaking in a Father's Day card today; it uses the inspiration photo from Inspired By as well as the sketch from Sketch Saturday:

I pulled out some old papers from Authentique along with a Unity stamp and here's what I came up with:

I stamped the image in Black Stazon and watercolored it, then added a sentiment from the same set, along with some adhesive metallic brads; the sentiment was diecut with the Stitched Shapes dies and Layering Ovals dies:

Gone Fishing provided the inside sentiment and I added a little scrap of the printed paper too!

I have peeps coming to stamp tonight, so that's it for now!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

SS362 Fishy Dad's Day

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I was making a few Father's Day cards for my card box and thought the sketch from Sunday Stamps might be a good one to use! I had an idea in mind...it didn't come out quite as I envisioned it but sometimes that happens!  So here's the sketch:

I used the retired Gone Fishing bundle, which I'll never get rid of, because it's perfect for the fishermen in your family!  So here we go:

I used a card base of Old Olive, embossing it with my new Kristina Werner's Finishing Touches dies--aren't they fun?  I used pieces of Timeless Plaid DSP and cut my little elements from Basic Beige cardstock and stamped them to match:

At the last minute, I stamped "DAD" from the retired Guy Greetings just to add a little bit more to the front:

And stamped these on the inside:

Not a lot of frills, but guys don't really like frills, right?!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC633 A Floral Hug

Happy Monday, peeps! Gray and icky out today, a good day to stay in my stamp room and create!  The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge is a great one this week:

I got a new embossing folder recently and I couldn't wait to put it to use! I already had this little rose image stamped, colored and cut, and it worked perfectly with the sketch! Here we go:

I embossed a Pretty in Pink panel with a Spellbinders Floral and Vine embossing folder, then blended just a wee bit of ink on the top.  The flower is from Year of Flowers, and it was stamped in Smoky Slate, then colored with blends.  I dyed some white ribbon with a Dark Soft Sea Foam blend to match the mat.

I stamped a sentiment from the same floral set and used a couple of leftover pieces from the ribbon to accent it.  The pink ink is pretty pale but hopefully the recipient can read it, LOL!

While I had my supplies on my desk, I made another one...considerably brighter! (You may need sunglasses!) This one uses a panel of Petunia Pop and a floral image from Crafty Individuals called Tall Flowers:

Different sentiment, some really old ribbon from my stash, but almost the same!

I am so glad you popped in today and I hope you'll play along with our Atlantic Hearts sketch this week! Our submissions have been really fabulous, so I know you'll want to get your creation in there as well!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
