AYSI349 Speed Stamping

Hello, stamping friends! It's time for a new As You See It challenge, and this week, since it's the fifth Friday of the month, means it's time for SPEED stamping! Yep, we want to see what you can create in ten minutes or less!  Get all your supplies ready and go!  Here's our theme:
I pulled out a couple of older sets that make me smile and the new Cloud Cover ink and paper, and here's what I created in 8 minutes and 30 seconds! I would have been done sooner but it took me as long to glue on the sequins as it did to stamp and emboss!

The image of the little girls in the ocean is from Technique Junkies, and the sentiment is from Crafty Secrets:

The seagulls are from the retired Sailing Home set, and the embossed background is the retired Seaside embossing folder.  I left the inside blank so I wouldn't run out of time!

I hope you'll stand up to our Speed Stamping challenge, too!  Check out what the DT created and then come share your quickly-stamped creations with us at the AYSI blog!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS688 Just a Note

Happy Thursday, peeps! I am moving slowly this morning....rain and clouds make me feel like a sloth, LOL! I did find some time to create a couple of cards using the FMS sketch though! Here's the sketch:

I chose some florals from Florals in Bloom along with some Petal Pink DSP; I swear, sometimes I have the worst time matching colors.  The background of the floral looked like it matched the Petal Pink until I went to photograph it.  Now it doesn't look like it matches at all!  But I already put it together, so it is what it is!

I embossed the Petal Pink DSP with the Eyelet embossing folder to give it a bit more interest, then added a sentiment from Notes & Totes, stamped in Secret Sea and added some Cloud Cover ribbon and mat:

For fun, I created another card, which really has a fall vibe to it, using Timid Tiger inks and Pumpkin Pie DSP, as well as the retired Cottage Wreaths bundle:

The little sentiment is from Friends are Like Seashells:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

HSSSC464 Birthday Daisy

Happy Wednesday, everyone! My card today features a sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments:

And some papers from Country Woods and Perennial Lavender, along with a couple of daisies from Natural Botanicals:

This is my first time using the Two-Tone cardstock, which has a white core.  I embossed this piece of Pool Party with the Exposed Brick embossing folder, then sanded it to show the white beneath! I stamped the daisies in Pecan Pie ink and rather than use the opposite side of the two-step stamp to fill it in, I opted to use an aquapainter and Pool Party ink for a softer look:

I heat-embossed a sentiment from Simply Said with Craft White ink and white embossing powder, then cut it out with a Textured Notes die:

I really like the rustic feel of this!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

SSC361 Blessed Day

Happy Tuesday, peeps! Doesn't it feel like Sunday? Or Monday? Those Monday holidays mess me all up! I have a quick little card today that uses the sketch from Sunday Stamps:

Although I am disappointed that SU didn't have very many new designer papers this year, it is nice to be able to continue to use the ones I didn't use very much from last year!  This card uses some pretty prints from Nests of Winter along with the flower from You Are Remarkable:

I stamped my flower in Early Espresso and added the petals in Moody Mauve, stamped off once to give it a lighter hue.  It was backed on a little square, also from Nests of Winter, and a sentiment from Unbounded Love:

And I always need birthday cards, so a sentiment from the same set went on the inside:

Easy peasy and sweet!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC631 Patriotic Thinking of You

Happy Monday, everyone!  It's time for the latest Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, and I wanted to create a card in patriotic colors for Memorial Day, but not necessarily in a Memorial Day theme, because I don't send out those kinds of cards! But I knew I had some papers in vintage patriotic colors, so that's what I went with!  First, the sketch:

To accomodate the size of my papers, I chose to make my card a wee bit larger than normal; it's 6 1/4"x 4 3/4", from Basic Beige.  I cut my printed background paper to fit my card, then simply cut our the floral panel and added a Night of Navy border, although in my photo, it looks much brighter:

The sentiment is from Hero Arts, stamped on another piece from the same paper pad and diecut with a 3/4" wide banner die:

And since my card is a little larger than normal, I created a custom envelope with some paper I had in my stash, no idea the maker!!

I hope that you'll have some time this week to play with our sketch at the Atlantic Hearts!  Thanks for visiting; enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP739 Thinking of You

Happy Sunday, everyone! It's my turn to be the hostess at the Paper Players, and I've got an easy sketch for you to play with:

I think this has so many possibilities! I chose to use some new DSPs for my bright card this week:

My center panel uses a strip of Florals in Bloom along with some patterns from the Bright DSP selection!  Each panel is just wee bit under 1 3/4" wide and 4" high, and I mounted them on a piece of Timid Tiger cardstock.  The sentiment is also stamped in Timid Tiger and it's from The Right Words.  I diecut it and the Granny Apple Green layer with the Textured Notes dies and added a wee little mat of Lemon Lime Twist as well.  To jazz it up a bit, I added a couple of diecuts from the Unbounded Love dies and a simple white ribbon:

I left the inside blank, as I thought this sentiment could work for any number of occasions!  I hope that you find this sketch to your liking as well, and you'll play along with us at the Paper Players! Be sure to check out the lovely samples our Design Team created while you're there!  Thanks for visiting today!

On Friday, Dana and I went plant/flower shopping because we missed our traditional Mother's Day outing! We hit a couple of Amish nurseries, and saw this cute little "purse" while at one of them:

Such a clever idea! I didn't get it but it was fun to look at! And Mr. Chipmunk has come out of his hibernation and making himself known on our porch!!!  He's always fun to watch!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Happy Summertime

Happy Friday, everyone! I had some time yesterday to make a fun little stenciled card using some Greetery products! It works for the Inspire.Create Challenge this week (Summer Vibes), and the stencil challenge from Just Us Girls:

I used the Destination: Summer stamp and stencil set to create my card:

I basically copied the "map" that came with the sest, stenciling and stamping these little images to create my scene.  I did add a couple of sequins and some Wink of Stella:

The panel was adhered to a Summer Splash card, and I added a sentiment from the new The Right Words, along with a hibiscus image, on the inside:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

CTD833 We're Not Old

Happy Thursday, peeps! I chuckled when I saw the Color Throwdown challenge this week, because I had just created a card for my upcoming stamp class at the retirement community and it used those exact colors! Here's the prompt:

So here we go:

I used a set from Taylored Expressions called What's Cookin' along with the matching dies, Bake Me Happy.  I used some DSP from SU that's really old and stamped the sentiments in Poppy Parade.  Wouldn't you love to have a mixer like that?

I added a diecut sentiment on the inside as well!

I hope my friends at the retirement community aren't offended by this, LOL!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Every Good & Perfect Gift

Happy Wednesday, all! I have a flowery card for you today, using the color palette from Retro Rubber:

I have to admit that I struggled with this card, not because of the colors, they're beautiful...but because I do struggle lining up all the layers of this particular stamp set.  It's from W+9, called Freehand Florals, and it's from 2016.  I think I have probably mis-aligned the layers, but at some particular point, I just gave up and went with it!  So here we go:

I stamped my flowers in Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie and Flirty Flamingo, and the leaves in Soft Sea Foam.  I did add a wee little Balmy Blue baker's twine bow, and framed them all in a Penny Black Double Frame die:

The sentiment is from Stamp Simply's Farmhouse Scriptural Quotes, and I've had that since 2023 or 2024!  In hindsight, I wish I had stamped it in a different color that Flirty Flamingo, but again, I'd spent way too much time on it!

I stamped a birthday sentiment on the inside, so this will go in my birthday stash!  I am also entering this at Little Red Wagon, where they're looking for flowers!  Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC630 Hello

Happy Monday, everyone! We have a nice easy sketch for you at Atlantic Hearts this week:

I've been playing with Layers of Beauty and I wanted to try to create a blue/gray pottery-styled floral. So here we go:

I stamped my flower in Night of Navy on Smoky Slate cardstock and used various shades of blue to stencil in the colors.  I added an embossed circle for the background, then layered it all on some Country Woods DSP.  Sentiment is from Choose Happy!

Hope you have fun with our sketch! Share your creations with us at the Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge blog and give some love to the other designers there as well!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP738 Beeutiful Wings

Happy Sunday, peeps! Joanne is our Paper Players hostess this week and she has a fun clean-and-simple challenge for us:

Oh, so many things could fit this bill, right?!  Just remember to keep things clean-and-simple!  So here we go:

I have lots of bee stamps, but this detailed one from Queen Bee is one of my favorites!  My color palette came from the Inspired By challenge this week:

I stamped the queen bee in Versafine ink and colored her in with an aquapainter and inks and fussy cut her out. I stamped her again on a gingham Everyday Arches diecut and mounted the fussy-cut one on top:

I added a sentiment from Darcy's Designs as well as some blue sequins, and mounted it on a panel that was embossed with the Hive embossing folder.  I am also entering this at the CAS on Sunday Challenge, where they are also looking for "Things for Wings"!  I know a blue bee is probably a wee bit unusual, but I just love that color combo!

I hope you'll play with our Clean-and-Simple "Things that Fly" challenge too! Be sure to share your creation with us at our Paper Players blog!  See you there! Thanks for popping in today; enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI348 Spots & Stripes

Happy Friday, everyone!  Hope you have something fun planned for the weekend!  It's time for a new As You See It challenge, and our theme this week is spots or stripes!

I just got the new set called Encircled With Love, so it seemed perfect for the challenge! I added spots and stripes to my card:

I chose to keep my card monochromatic to keep it simple, using Lost Lagoon ink, but I did kick it up a notch by adding a few more subtle spots with a polka dot embossing folder, then added a sentiment from Everyday Arches. I love how the fonts seem to coordinate!  My final embellishment was some Lost Lagoon Soft Cord:

I also used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

I love spots, and I love stripes, and I love them together!  I hope you'll play with our challenge this week...you can use either or both!  Check out what the DT created too...some fun creations over at the AYSI blog!   Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
