LRW796 Tiny Bunny

Hello, peeps! Yay, it's Friday! I have a fun little Easter card for you today. The challenge at Little Red Wagon this week is "Tiny Dancer"; they want to see something tiny on your card!  (Do you now have Elton John stuck in your head?)  So here we go:

I used an embossing folder and die from Simon Says Stamp, and diecut the wee bunny from a circle of Bubble Bath cardstock. I have struggled with this color; it's a little too purple for me to really consider it a pink, and it's tough to photograph! I am still lamenting the loss of Pink Pirouette, right, Beth?  Anyway, I went with it, stamping my circle with some little Bubble Bath polka dots and popping up the bunny with double mini dimensionals:

I struggled to get the sentiment dark enough, so I opted for Smoky Slate for both the outside and inside sentiments, and added some gray gingham to pull it all together!

Both sentiments came from the retired Little Cuties set!  Now, to make a few more Easter cards!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Christmas Chickadee

Happy Thursday, peeps! I am slowly working on my Christmas card stash; my card today fulfills three challenges!  The As You See It theme challenge wants birds; the CAS on Sunday challenge is a sketch, and the Retro Rubber challenge is a tic-tac-toe grid!

I am using an old Impression Obsession chickadee stamp; I know I have had this at least ten years, along with a sentiment from SU called Shine Bright (2019),  In order to fit the bird and the rest of the sketch, my card is a little larger at 5" square.  So here we go:

I stamped the chickadee on watercolor paper and inked it in with reinkers, then used aStylish Shapes circle die to cut it out, cutting out the tail before using the die:

For my tic-tac-toe, I chose the top row across of enamel dots, stripes or dots and diecuts.  I stamped a Shaded Spruce tag with SU's Distressed Dots background stamp (2011) and added some banners using some retired Christmas DSPs that featured dots and stripes.  The sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  My enamel dots are from W+9.  I know I will need a special envelope to fit this card, but that's okay, it's fun to do something a little different!

Thanks for popping in toda! Enjoy it and be blessed!

SOS542 One Layer Thinking of You

Happy mid-week, peeps!  The Shopping our Stash challenge is to make a one-layer card!  We all love layers and layers, don't we?  Using just one sheet of cardstock seems just minimalistic!!  But I gave it a go:

I used Thick Very Vanilla cardstock for my base and used an acrylic block to create my background; I simply plonked the block on to the Crushed Curry inkpad and then used it as a stamp!  I am thinking I should have "stamped off" once to get a lighter shade, but I went with it.  I overstamped it with one of the scripts from Elements of Text in Crumb Cake, then stamped the floral image and bee from Queen Bee in Stazon Saddle Brown.

The sentiment is from Everyday Greetings.  I did add some speckles from the Elements of Text too:

I already have a recipient in mind for this card, so it will be in the mail tomorrow!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

I will remember your great deeds, Lord; I will recall the wonders you did in the past.  I will think about all that you have done; I will meditate of all your mighty acts.  Psalm 77:11-12

52CCTD Pop Up Christmas Card

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I have been very neglectful in making Christmas card this year; not sure why, because they are my favorite cards to make!  The 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge was to make a pop-up card, and I thought this card by Andrea was just beautiful!

My card is much more simplified than hers, as I was just trying to get the measurements and the engineering of the card to work!!  So here we go:

Outside:

Inside:

My card base is Basic Beige, and the front is a panel from Divinity Designs' Christmas Paper Collection 2014.  The inside, which measures 4" x 6 1/4", scored on each long side at 2" and 2 1/2", is from SU's retired Dandy Designs.  You can see how the fold works here:

I added a panel of Gold Glimmer paper and a sentiment from Christmas Labels, stamped in Boho Blue.  The panel can fold to either side to fit in the envelope easily.  My only other embellishment was a gold dot on the star on the front of the card.  Simple and easy!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

I have complete confidence in the gospel; it is God's power to save all who believe, first the Jews and also the Gentiles.  For the gospel reveals how God puts people right with himself:  it is through faith from beginning to end.  As the scripture says, "The person who is put right with God through faith shall live."  Romans 1:16-17

AHSC618 A Little Garden Note

Happy Monday, friends! Our Atlantic Hearts Sketch this week is a great one to use up some of those strips of DSP we always have lying around:

I went to my Storybook Moments DSP and pulled out some scraps as well as some of the diecuts to make my card today:

I started with a Boho Blue card base, and added an embossed mat that I had unused from another project, then added strips of DSP.  I did go to my retired pile to find some Real Red to go with those yummy strawberries.  Then I layered some of the diecuts, and added some sequins for fun:

Since the white panel was already embossed, I couldn't stamp on it, so I added a sentiment from Terrific Toadstools and diecut it with an Everyday Arches die and tucked it under my red strip:

I love the colors and patterns in these papers, they're so fun!  I hope you'll play along with our challenge sketch as well and share it with us at Atlantic Hearts!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP726 Sketch from Stef

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Stef is our Paper Players hostess and she has a fun sketch for us to try out:

I needed a little boy card, so I pulled out Dino Days and here's what I came up with:

I diecut and stamped the images in Old Olive, Granny Apple Green and Pumpkin Pie and arranged them on some diecut circles:

My card base is Granny Apple Green with some retired Dandy Designs DSP.  The inside was stamped with a sentiment from Little Delights. The font on this sentiment is one of my favorites!

This sketch is wide open with possibilities!  We hope you'll let it inspire you and share your creativity with us at the Paper Players too!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS674 Plaid Birthday

Happy Friday, everyone! Yay, the weekend is upon us!  Jen at FMS has a really cool sketch this week:

and it gave me a chance to use some masculine plaids for a birthday card:

I use the retired Best Borders die to cut my plaid and Cherry Cobbler panels, then used the Tailor Made Tags die to cut out a little tag on which to adhere my Copper letters:

I tied the tag with some retired Cinnamon Cider ribbon and added sentiments from Everyday Greetings in Cherry Cobbler ink:

And this one is in the mail, ready to go!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

On Your Big Day

Happy Thursday, everyone! I have a friend at church who will be celebrating a big birthday soon! I decided to use the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches as well as the color palette from Hand Stamped Sentiments for her card:

She loves dogs and I always give her a dog-themed card, but I thought this year, I'd change it up!  Here we go:

I diecut the sand dollars from Seaside Wishes from Lemon Lolly (and I just realized that is NOT a color in the challenge, so sorry!) cardstock and colored them with Calypso Coral ink using a Blending Brush.  I am sure there are NO sand dollars in real life that look like this, but I am using my artistic license, LOL!  I added a sentiment from Choose Happy in Craft White and Summer Splash, as well as a cute little Summer Splash Glimmer starfish:

For extra fun, I stamped some sprinkles around the sand dollars and also embossed the outside edges with the retired Stitched With Whimsy dies.  On the inside, I combined a few sentiments from the Everyday Greetings set:

TGIF512 Serene Love Friend

Happy Wednesday, peeps! I have a quick card using some very pretty Serene Love DSP that was on sale, along with the sketch from TGIF Challenges:

To be honest, on SU's webpage, these papers looked much brighter and lighter than they do in real life! In fact, I thought I had gotten a different DSP in error!  This pattern happens to be Night of Navy and I think I was expecting Blueberry Bushel.  Anyway, I decided to put it to use with this fun little sketch.  It's a little more busy than my usual style:

The card itself is 4 /14" square; I diecut a white square and used the outer edge as a frame for the inside embossed piece.  The large floral was fussy-cut from one of the papers, and the sentiment is from the Everyday Greetings set.  I used another piece of the DSP to pop behind it and added a pearl to dot the "i":

A simple sentiment on the inside from the same set!

Springtime Hugs

Happy Tuesday, all.  I needed a card for a friend of ours who is going through her second cancer diagnosis. She is taking it like a champ but of course, always needs encouragement.  I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday as well as the colors from Sunday Stamps:

I used the retired Dainty Delight bundle along with some old and new papers for her card:

The background paper is from Storybook Moments, along with some retired Crushed Curry DSP.  I stamped the images in Pecan Pie and colored them in with a Blender Pen.  They went against a panel cut with the new Everyday Arches dies in Basic White and Crumb Cake.  I did emboss the white panel with the Eyelet EF but I am wishing I had left it plain!  I also added a little gingham ribbon.  The butterflies and sentiment are from a scrapbook.com set:

A CTMH sentiment went on the inside, stamped in Lost Lagoon:

AHSC617 Birthday Card for Someone Special

Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you had a good weekend! It's time for a new Atlantic Hearts sketch:

Yesterday was Dana's birthday, so I used the sketch to make her card:

All the papers are from Perennial Lavender; the sentiment is from Waffleflower.

I created some white buttons with a no-name button die and threaded through some Linen Thread to tie them together:

And on the inside, I stamped some birthday wishes from Hooray for Surprises:

I hope you'll be able to play along with our sketch this week too! I loved this one, and the three elements could be interpreted as many things!  Share it with us over the AHSC blog!

We had the family and Wayne's parents over for lunch yesterday for Dana's b-day:

My cake decorating skills have never been stellar, but it tasted good!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP725 CAS Masculine from Jan

Happy Sunday, all!  Jan is our Paper Players hostess today and she has a fun clean-and-simple challenge for us!!  She wants us to make a masculine card---that can definitely be a challenge at some times!

I saw a card on Facebook and sadly, didn't keep the source, so if anyone knows who came up with this idea, let me know!  I took the largest die from the Everyday Arches dies, laid the straight edge just a wee bit above the fold of my Crumb Cake card and here's what I came up with:

The die cuts easily through the two layers of cardstock!  These images and sentiments are all from Unity, and they were stamped in Versafine Black ink:

I did add a couple of Basic Black diecuts for a little visual interest; I used Basic Borders and All That Dies (trimmed down).  And I gave my delivery van a little grounding with a swash of Pecan Pie with my aquapainter!

Hope you'll play along with our masculine clean-and-simple challenge at the Paper Players this week!  Pull out your masculine stamps and show us what you come up with!

The kids went to the Super Bowl parade on Friday---I watched some on TV---lots of noise and excitement!  Wayne is a diehard Philadelphia sports fan, as is his brother, so I think although it was very cold, they had a great time!

The cheerleaders are important, too, right?!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
