AAA280 Butterfly Sympathy

Happy Tuesday, happy New Year's Eve!  Sadly, I needed sympathy card #3.....I notice that these things often happen in threes, so I was kind of waiting for it. While shopping yesterday, I saw one of my customers from several years ago and she shared her dad passed away, so this card is for her!  It uses the sketch from AAA Cards:

I pulled out a retired stencil and the Sketched Butterfly stamp set and this is what I came up with:

The stencil was blended with Fresh Freesia ink and the butterflies were stamped in Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape.  I added a sentiment from Unbounded Love and those pretty Purple sequins available through SAB when it starts:

And the inside:

Have a happy and safe New Year's Eve and thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC610 Birthday Greetings

Happy Monday, peeps! Hope everyone had a great weekend--are you looking forward to the new year? We don't do any big celebrating, in fact, we may be in bed before midnight this year, LOL!

The new Atlantic Hearts sketch is out today and since I have several birthdays coming up, I decided to make good use of it!  Here's the sketch:

I kept my card pretty simple, just relying on the bright In Colors of Shy Shamrock and Petunia Pop to make a statement:

The cake and candle from Hooray for Surprises is my focal point, and the Purple Sequins from the upcoing SAB catalog were a perfect match to add some sparkle:

The sentiment was stamped in Shy Shamrock as well and I added a few fun little hearts; easy peasy!

This is a fun, easy sketch to use and if you have some left over strips of DSP, it's a great way to use them up!  Hope you'll play along with our sketch this week!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Another Sympathy Card

Happy day-after-Christmas, everyone! I have been MIA with all my holiday preparations, but sadly, I needed another sympathy card this week! I snuck into my craft room a couple days ago and made this simple card.  It uses the sketch from Inspire.Create, and the colors from Creative Colour Challenges:

I pulled out an old wooden stamp from Stampscapes, along with some DSPs and this is what I came up with:

I used Basic Beige for the stamped panel and card, and Country Woods and Countryside Inn DSPs.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I was surprised how nice the Blueberry Bushel ink looked on the Basic Beige cardstock:

I used an older Our Daily Bread Designs verse for the inside, along with a Hero Arts sentiment as well:

My only embellishment was some Basic Beige ribbon.  The family who lost their mom used to have a bed and breakfast called the Log House, so I thought this image was appropriate.  So glad you popped in today!

So on Christmas, I had most of my immediate family, their children and grandchildren, for dinner and dessert.  That included four boys, ranging in ages from one to nine! And Maven was in the mix too with her almost-one-year-old voice!  The noise was deafening, but it was fun.  I recently saw a clip on FB where parents gave babies a choice of two things to play with; one was a toy and the other was something like a box, a spoon, or just something that you wouldn't think would capture their eye, but every time, the child went for the non-toy item!  Maven's mom sent me this video, which totally reinforces that idea (along with the dads who were involved as well!); be sure to turn up the audio, because listening to this little Cole laugh just made me laugh too:

And here's that little Maven herself with Aunt Dana! (And she was playing with a spoon!)

They just grow up so fast!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Merry Christmas!

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.  An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.  But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.  This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."   Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:8-14

Merry Christmas to all my stamping friends! May 2025 be a year of crafty blessings!

Happy Monday, everyone!  I am playing with the latest Atlantic Hearts sketch this week, along with some new products that will be coming from SU real soon!  Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

My card uses the new Hugs for Love bundle and the pretty Timeless Plaid papers for an out-of-the box-color Valentine!  The images were stamped in Calypso Coral and Misty Moonlight, and I used the punch that goes with the bundle.  I also used Spotlight on Nature and Everyday Details dies for my shapes.

Here's the inside:

These are pretty colors together and the images are lots of fun to stamp!  I hope you'll play with our sketch this week! It's a great sketch to use up little bits of DSP, so have some fun with it!  Thanks for visiting today, enjoy it and be blessed!

SSC350 Sympathy

Happy Thursday, peeps! Sadly, I needed a sympathy card this week.  They're never easy, but even more challenging around the holidays.  I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps:

along with some warm plaid papers I recently got from Unity.  Here we go:

I stamped one of the trees from the long-retired Happy Scenes set, along with a sentiment from Special Moments, both on Crumb Cake cardstock, and diecut them with circle dies:

I added a single leaf from an older Paper Pumpkin set, and since there's a wee bit of red in the plaids that I used, I colored in the bird with a blender pen and some Real Red ink.  The inside verse is from Stamp Simply:

Thanks for visiting today!

I had my visitor again yesterday:

You can really see his moustache here!  He's so BIG!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC608 Noel

Hello, peeps! Happy Monday!  The Atlantic Hearts Sketch this week is an interesting one:

Normally, I try to stay pretty true to the orientation of the sketch but I just got a new cover plate die and thought it would be fun to use, and its orientation is portrait, so I used it anyway!  Here we go:

I began by stamping the letters in Blueberry Bushel.  The alphabet is an older wooden one I've had for a long time, called Narratives by Creative Imaginations, and I just fussy-cut the squares out.  The Festive Grid cover plate from Pinkfresh covers the entire card front, so I mounted it on a Blueberry Bushel card and mounted the squares with dimensionals.  I added a Simon Says Stamp sentiment:

and finished the inside with a sentiment from SU called Night Divine:

A very simple card but I love the colors and that fun cover plate!

I hope you'll play along with our sketch this week!  On Wednesday, you'll be able to see all the DT's designs at the AHSC blog! Be sure to share your creative endeavors with us too! Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI338 Thanks So Much

Happy Sunday, peeps!  I haven't posted for a week! Gee whizzies! I had a very busy few days, but I also came down with a nasty cold, and John's been sick for several weeks, so I was just taking it easy!  I was itching to get back into my craft room however, so I snuck in yesterday afternoon to make a thank you card for a friend!  I used the sketch from As You See It:

So here we go:

I deviated a tiny bit from the sketch, using an image from Sentimental Christmas, cutting it out with a circle die instead of the rectangular shape. My panel is Azure Afternoon and I matted it with Shaded Spruce to match the "greenery".  Although the horizontal piece is covered up by that greenery, it was also cut from a piece of Sentimental Christmas, then embellished with some Shaded Spruce and Poppy Parade pine and berry diecuts.  I also fussy-cut a little bird to add to the center of the spray:

The sentiment from Latte Love was embossed in white:

The front of the card is also embossed with the Snowflake Sky embossing folder!  This will go out in the mail tomorrow!

While I was "resting" I decorated a wooden box that John made me after last Christmas; it is actually four pieces of wood that velcro together and they go around the bottom of our Christmas tree to look like a crate.  Dana had one for her tree and when I looked at them online, I thought they were a little pricey, so John stepped up to the plate and went to work! He painted it white and I stenciled a design on it.  It turned out pretty well:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC607 Easy Peasy Birthday

Happy Tuesday, all!  I am taking a break from Christmas cards and using some new upcoming stuff from the Spring Mini catalog, along with some retired goodies, for my Atlantic Hearts Sketch card! First, here's the sketch:

And here we go:

The Wildflower Birthday DSP has two sheets of punch-out images that make great scrapbook embellishments, but they also are great on cards!  I combined two retired sentiment sets, some retired DSPs and some florals from the Birthday DSP to create this quick, cheerful card!  I simply removed  the elements from the sheet and layered them around my hand-cut banner, added some gold pearls and it was done:

A happy card for a happy occasion!  I hope you'll play along with the sketch at Atlantic Hearts this week...holiday or other occasion, it's a great one!

Maven's first Christmas tree excursion!

She's on the move!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP719 Color Challenge from Ann

Happy Sunday, stampers! Today is our last Paper Players challenge of the year, with Ann as our hostess, and she has a wonderful color palette for us:

What a great way to end our holiday stamping, right?!  I just had to go with the retired Poinsettia Petals set, embossed in gold, with some Pretty Peacock accents:

I remembered some gold-printed DSP from waaaay back so I pulled that out for a background panel, and I also used the retired Pine Bough embossing folder as well:

The sentiment is from the same poinsettia set, but I mounted it on a banner from the Peaceful Season set, and added some gold pearls for accent.  The inside sentiment is from Greetings of the Season:

Of course, I had another idea in mind, so I made a second card, similar layout, using the Christmas Labels set and a diecut bell:

And a little sentiment from Lil'Inkers, which is where the bell is from as well, for in the inside:

I hope you'll come play along with our last challenge of the season, and share your color-filled creation wtih us at the Paper Players! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

JAI731 & RRCB245 Winter Sleigh Rides

Happy Friday, peeps! Are your Christmas cards all done?  I have mine almost all addressed and ready to go, but I still love making them!  Especially when there are so many fun challenges out there! The one from Just Add Ink really caught my eye, along with the Tic-Tac-Toe board from Retro Rubber:

I was inspired by the red, white and tan colors in the photo and I chose the middle row down on the TTT board of texture, greenery and tag, although I could have also done a couple more of those rows/columns!  So here we go:

I used a really old Cornish Heritage Farms set called Winter Signage to create my little sign; it is mounted on a piece Country Woods DSP tag, cut with a Bonanza die.  That stamp is at least ten years old, LOL!  I added diecut greenery in Evening Evergreen and a bit of Cherry Cobbler striped ribbon that retired long, long ago!

I mounted everything on a Cherry Cobbler panel that was embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder called Deer Knit.  On the inside, a sentiment from Greatest Part of Christmas (2019), along with a wee little cup of cocoa from Merry Cafe (2017):

I did add a few little cherry cobbler "berries" for fun!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
