I have a special post today! I am honored that my sweet, uber-creative friend Michele at I Card Everyone asked me to be her guest designer for the 12 Kits of Occasions! Wow! In case you're not familiar with the 12 Kits, each month a designer on the team makes up a kit for the other designers to play with! It's so fun to see what each designer creates with the same goodies. I wish I had thought to take a picture of ALL my goodies when I opened my bag...it was amazing! (You can find all the ingredients that Michele sent me on the 12 Kits blog!). So let's get started! The theme that Michele chose was "Thankful"! Perfect for this time of the year! Warning: this post is photo-heavy! I think this one was my favorite:
I used a swish of Wild Wasabi from Work of Art for the background, and added a green sparkly heart as a dot on the "i"!
The next one features a cool fold and diecut....I covered the front with some striped paper and added some sparkly elements:
Who could resist this cute little kitty?:
I colored her with some Smoky Slate and Melon Mambo inks then added a big element to her collar!
This card features a stunning doily and equally stunning wooden butterfly element:
I mounted it on a card embossed with the Cable Knit EF, added a diecut "thanks" and some delicate leaves. Some pearls finished it off:
Here's another of my favorites! I just love these typewriters; I diecut one of Michele's sentiments and stamped a little notepaper on it in Peekaboo Peach and added that cool green brad:
And oh, how I love this one....a beautiful bevy of leaves, partially diecut, stamped on watercolor paper! I had a blast coloring these with every autumn hue in my stash!
I added some of Michele's designer paper, a little arrow from SU's Oh What Fun set in Peekaboo Peach), then rounded the corners and added some baker's twine:
Oh, a couple of sequins too! Just check out the texture in that paper!
I had fun with this one too.....I pulled out a bunch of thanks/thank you stamps and filled in the lines on this fun paper:
I added some glimmer paper hearts, brads, and stamped flowers:
And last, but not least, I decorated the gift bag in which Michele sent all these goodies:
It's a good thing you can't see this rose up close, because I am not coordinated at creating them, but I gave it my best shot! I added some more of those pretty doilies, and added a solid green one of my own; some delicate leaves, and a woodgrain thanks! Now I just need a gift and a recipient for it!
I hope you will check out all the designers' creations to see how they used Michele's kit! I can't wait to see them myself! Thanks for popping in today!
My friend Linda wanted to know if Cassidy was still lining things up! I just took this shot of her playing with her bath toys:
So I guess the answer is "Yes!"
Oh goodness, LeAnne! You have created so many darling cards - I'm never confident putting a kit together - you made it look like I actually knew what I was doing!!! thank you so very much for playing cards with us this month!!!
LeAnne I was so happy to see you were Michele’s guest this month and joining us!
You sure made some beauties here today! Love that embossing folder on the green card with the doily and your watercolor card is stunning!
What a fun array of beautiful cards here! Michele's kit is gorgeous to begin with and you certainly brought it great justice with all your fabulous creations.
Awesome cards! Sounds like a fun activity to participate in. And such a cute pic of Cassidy!
Each of these cards are absolutely stunning! What a fabulous idea to do something like this.
I am in total awe of these creations! Your cards are fabulous.....I really can't pick a favorite! I had never heard of this site so now I will have to check out what everyone else made! Trying to imagine what your desk looked like after getting all these goodies and deciding what to do!
OMG LeAnne! I just love all of these cards. You are so wonderfully creative and such an inspiration. Thanks so much for sharing these with us. Hope you have a happy Halloween. All the grands and their parents are coming for dinner and then everyone (except me, I'll be minding the candy dish at home) will visit the neighbors to show off their costumes and collect candy, of course. ~chris
WOW!! You've done an amazing job with the kit from what I can see! What a very inspirational post! Thank you!
What an awesome set of cards LeAnne - all lovely, especially the typewriters and the lines of thank yous!
Wow...you totally rocked Michele's wonderful kit! So in love with all your wonderful and sweet cards. So creative! and so happy you joined us this month!
LeAnne, you know I love your work! I read-follow every blog post! Is there any chance you can tell me what company makes the "typewriter" DSP? I went over to the "Kits" page and October isn't listed. I would absolutely LOVE to get my hands on some of this paper; my dad was a life-long employee of Royal Typewriter from age 16 yrs. old until his massive stroke leaving him totally disabled at age 52. I would love to use this paper for scrapbooking pages. Thanks in advance, Gayle
They are all amazing--excellent choice of papers and subjects.
Goodness me! You've been one busy card-maker! They are all fantastic. Thanks for sharing a pic of our darling Ms C - she's growing up soooo fast.
I'm SO HAPPY you are joining us this month as Michele's guest!! And might I say that you rocked her kit. All of your cards are incredible. Love how delicate and feminine the one with the wooden butterfly is. Beautiful work!!
All your cards are gorgeous!
Congrats on being a Kits guest designer, LeAnne. You did a terrific job on your cards. It's fun to see how everyone's style comes through using the same items.
I love what you did with this kit - and feel like I made a new friend here today! The card with the typewriters blew me away - I didn't want to cover them up - and you really made the most of them! I love the kitty and the colorful leaves - your cards are amazing!
What a delight to have you join us this month! I'm so amazed with the way you've combined and used so many different elements on your cards. Your first card totally blew me away...the little additions you made with the ink to the typed paper and sparkly heart were brilliant. Your beautiful watercolored leaves card is another favorite of mine. But I love each and every card you made. (PS Your little Cassidy is a doll.)
Love all these beauties...
those leaves are gorgeous and the multiple Thanks card is fabulous!!
Fabulous group of cards. It looks like you had such a great time playing with your kit. Thank you so much for joining us this month. It is a pleasure to have you.
Beautiful, amazing projects..... can't even pick a 'favorite' as they are all so lovely!
However, love love how you've used the cute typewriter paper, watercolored the leaves and brilliantly filled the spectacle/pink rose pp lines with many different 'thank you' sentiments and perfect little embellishments.
So happy to have you joining us this month! You've really made Michele proud with your projects using her kit. Love them all!! The cable embossing looks so wonderful with the doily and beautiful butterfly. Love your watercolored leaves and your fantastic typewriter designs!
LeAnne your cards are all as I imagined they would be...amazing! Each and everyone so unique you did so many things I didn't think of! That embossing with the cable is awesome! So happy that we had the pleasure of you as our guest this month!
