PP621 A Tree of Words

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Today is the Paper Players' last challenge of the year and Ann has a lovely color palette for us; check it out:

I just love those rich tones!  I wanted to make a special Christmas card for my neighbor, and I had an idea in mind, and these colors worked perfectly!  Here we go:

I had gotten the Impression Obsession set called Christmas Words at the end of last year and hadn't gotten it inky yet.  I remembered at a stamp weekend many, many years ago that Korin from Sweet & Sassy stamps used a word set to create a Christmas tree, so I worked with the words in the set, lining them up on my Stamparatus, and created my "tree":

I thought lining them up would be a breeze...but it was NOT!  I still didn't get a few of them spaced out exactly as I wanted, but I was ready to say "Good enough"!!  I stamped them in Evening Evergreen on Very Vanilla cardstock, then added an Evening Evergreen mat.  At the bottom, I embossed and diecut a sentiment from the retired Toile Christmas on Brushed Gold cardstock and mounted it on another gold panel:

I embossed the front of the Cherry Cobbler card with the Wrapped in Texture EF, and added a sentiment from the Toile Christmas on the inside:

The sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches:

I hope you'll find time in your busy schedules to play along with us this week!  You don't have to make a Christmas card, either...these colors can be beautiful with florals too!  Check out what the whole DT made over at the Paper Players blog, then share yours with us too!

On Friday night, Cassidy, Dana and her friend Lisa and I went to a crafty neighbor's house to make little seaglass Christmas trees.  It was a lot of fun and we used a lot of hot glue!

For some reason, I missed taking a picture of Dana's and Lisa's, but here are Cassidy's and mine:

She added little bits of glass as "ornaments"; I did a rather poor job of mine, but I am giving it to the girl who owns the apartment that we rent each summer in Lewes, Delaware...her decor is beach-themed and will look much better there than in my house!  A tealight fits underneath the plastic form and really looks cute when it is lit!

Thanks for visiting today...enjoy it and be blessed!  The Players will see you again in 2023!

TH Vintage Santa Christmas

Happy Thursday, peeps! I have another Christmas card for you; I have SO many Christmas stamps and I just can't get to them all in one year...but I'm trying!  This one uses a Tim Holtz embossing folder that I didn't even know I HAD!  I paired it with a TH vintage Santa, tree and star, along with some other vintage-y looking doo-dads!  Here we go:

I started by embossing a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and sponging it with some Cinnamon Cider ink, then stamped a Crumb Cake panel with a Cornish Heritage Farms sheet music stamp and the tree from Tim Holtz's Holiday Things set in Evening Evergreen.  I stamped the Santa and star on Basic White in Cherry Cobbler and also sponged them.  In hindsight, I wish I had used Very Vanilla!  I added some gold glimmer paper diecuts in the corners:

and a sentiment from a fun company called Flonzcraft, headquartered in New Zealand!  Isn't that a pretty font?

One of their sentiments for the inside too!  Thanks for popping in today!

I promised some more pictures of Longwood; here you go:

This is the view as you walk into the conservatory, with my favorite tree in the background!

This tree was made of succulents!  Check out the "stars" at the top!

This tree was decorated with all kinds of natural things--pine cones and dried foliage and lots and lots of lights!

John "warming" himself by the fireplace....the swag was probably 6' across!

And this was such a cool display: a whole wall of wreaths and everything you can think of with which to decorate them!  I could have just looked at it all day!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC502 Christmas Cookies

Happy Wednesday, stamping friends!  I am still making Christmas cards....one can never have enough, LOL!  I pulled out an old set called Nothing Sweeter and its matching dies, Sweetly Stitched, to make a Christmas cookie card!  And these cookies have no calories! I used the Atlantic Hearts sketch:

And here we go:

I embossed the "icing" with Craft white ink and white embossing powder, then added "sprinkles" of Real Red and Garden Green.  The dies not only cut out the cookies, they also give them a fun embossing as well!

I added a little heat-embossed tag and some gumdrop DSP and it's ready to go in the mail!  And here's the inside...the embossed star stamp on top of the tree actually stamps three stars, so I stuck the other two on the inside:

Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!

Quick Christmas Cards

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I have a couple of quick Christmas cards to share; these were some of the ones we made at my last Christmas card stamp camp!  Here we go:

This used the stamp set Jingle Jingle Jingle along with a diecut tree from the Snowman dies.  There's a wee little glimmer paper star at the top and we fussy-cut the Santa hat!

This one features some fun papers from Studio Light along with a sentiment from Brightest Glow, stamped in Evening Evergreen on some Soft Succulent cardstock and diecut with a gorgeous die from Stitched Labels Framelits.

This one used an oldie but goodie stamp set, Sounding Joy; I diecut a large star from Very Vanilla and stamped the words in Crushed Curry.  A So Saffron card was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder called Allegro, and we added some punched-out gold glimmer paper country stars.

Thanks for visiting today!  Lots of errands, gotta run!

Cass helped me make a Peppermint Brownie Trifle on Sunday for our covered dish.  I didn't get a picture of the final product...it had pink whipped cream on top sprinkled with crushed peppermints!  It was pretty darn yummy!

We made chocolate pudding and added Cool Whip and peppermint extract, then layered it with little pieces of brownies:

A good excuse to use that trifle bowl that's been sitting on my shelf for years, LOL!  And it looked really pretty with the whipped cream on top!   Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP620 Vintage Santa

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It's almost our last Paper Players challenge of 2022, can you believe it?  I am the hostess, and here's the theme I chose for us:

I am a pushover for Santas...but especially vintage and retro Santas! I haven't gotten this vintage Santa from Flourishes inky for quite a while, so I thought I'd show him some love:

I started by stamping the image in Real Red and adding the sentiment in Shaded Spruce.

I cut off the bottom portion of the card front with the Basic Borders die, added another layer of Gold Foil, then adhered a pretty piece of Christmasy plaid DSP to the inside

A Tim Holtz die provided some Shaded Spruce holly leaves and I added some glimmery dots for the berries!  Inside, another sentiment from the same set:

I hope you'll play along with my "Ho Ho Ho" challenge and pull out your favorite Santa stamp and get him inky!  Share it with us at the Paper Players and check out what the other DT members have done as well!  Can't wait to see it! Thanks for stopping in today!

John and I had to go to a funeral on Friday morning, but we had the afternoon free, and we were driving right past Longwood Gardens, so I convinced him to stop!  It was a beautiful day and although we didn't get to see the lights, the other displays were stunning!  I'll share some more in the coming days, but here are a few to get you started!  The first one is the tree outside the Gardens entrance:

And these were outside the conservatory entrance:

A carpet of poinsettias!

And I managed to spend a couple of minutes with my brother, who works there!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

52CCT22-45 Mistletoe Christmas

Happy rainy, wet, cold, damp Saturday, everyone!  I got my chores done and snuck in some stamping time today, just a quick little Christmas card using the sketch from Christmas Card Throwdown:

I had a little piece of gingham DSP floating around on my desk, and I just got some cute little mistletoe dies (Merry early Christmas to me!) so I thought this sketch would work perfectly with them!  Here we go:

I diecut the gingham and a mat of Shaded Spruce with Stitched Rectangle dies, then diecut the mistletoe from Mint Macaron cardstock and the berries from Shimmery White.  I added a red satin ribbon behind the panel and adhered my greenery:

I added a little ribbon (which I believe is on the Clearance Rack right now!) and stamped sentiments from Peace to You inside and out.  I had a couple extra leaves, so I adhered them on the inside as well!

And now that little scrap is not hanging around on my desk any longer, LOL!  Thanks for popping in today!

This is what you come home to after a long day at school and your braces just got tightened the day before:

She looks so cute all snuggled up like that!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS564 Happy 60th

Happy Friday, peeps!  Hope you have some fun things planned for the weekend!  I managed to get most of my Christmas decorations up yesterday...the tree I'll save for next week!

My brother will be celebrating a milestone birthday next week too, so I used the FMS sketch to make a card for him; he's an engineer, so I should have come up with something more clever, but this will have to do!  First, the sketch:

I pulled out some of those masculine plaids from the new Memory Box pad I got recently, along with some copper foil paper and a retired set called Number of Years:

My off-sets circles are diecut with Night of Navy and Balmy Blue, and the numbers and words were stamped in Night of Navy as well; diecuts are from Stylish Shapes dies:

The copper stars were cut with the Give it a Whirl dies as well as a Paper Rose stitched star die.  They coordinate nicely with the copper stripes in the plaid!  Finally, a sentiment from the Number of Years set plus a "brother" stamp from Fiskars went on the inside:

After three girls, my parents were thrilled to get that boy!  And he's been a bit spoiled ever since, LOL!  Thanks for visiting today, enjoy it and be blessed!

Here's a real short video of Cassidy at her latest karate testing:
