Material Girl & LRW192

DSCF6176

Just a couple of fun cards today!  The first one uses an advertisement from a Workbasket magazine as my background paper, and I thought it looked good with a couple of sewing-themed images:

DSCF6175

I added faux buttons, and stamped the pins, stitching and buttonholes; the sentiment is on a Modern Label image too!  And look how fun the inside is:

The second one is a CAS birthday card using a cute image  from Storybook Friends that I loosely watercolored:

I have cut all the sentiments apart from these images, so I was able to use a sentiment from a new set called A Dozen Thoughts.  This works for the Little Red Wagon challenge 192, which is CAS!  If you have any questions about any of my projects, shoot me an email!

We have had some issues with groundhogs again this year.  There is a huge cavern dug in my flower bed next to the front porch stoop….HUGE.  We had set a trap which Mr. Groundhog ignored for a couple of days, but surprisingly, we went to check it yesterday afternoon and found this:

Cassidy was actually quite interested, and we had to tell her to stay away.  She kept saying “Poor thing….”!!!!!

Ah, the joys of living in the country!   Thanks for visiting today!  And be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!

STB20

DSCF6147

Happy Friday, peeps! Yesterday was such a lovely day, so much like a vacation, I totally forgot to set up my post!  Love, love, love the sketch from Seize the Birthday for this week:

Again, some lovely papers from MME along with some retired SU stamps take center stage:

I added a little clear get topper to an image I stamped in white, then stamped over top in Pink Passion to imitate the floral image on the paper:

Now if I could just keep my fingerprints off the sticky part, I’d be okay!  If you need info on anything, shoot me an email!   Have a glorious day!

A snap from Dana of the wee one:

Mojo Monday 300

DSCF6174

Happy Thursday---and Happy 4th, if you didn’t read my prior post!  I am trying to make some non-bulky birthday cards for a customer order and when I saw the Mojo Monday sketch for this week, I loved it….didn’t even realize it was the 300th until after the fact!  Congratulations to Julie and all the Mojo-ers!!!  Their sketches are always fun to do!  And here is the one that caught my eye:

I have so many 6x6 DP pads, I am trying to use some  up to lighten my shelf, LOL!  This is a pretty set from MME:

DSCF6172

I added a little multi-layered flower that I am hoping won’t be too bulky!  I also did some faux stitching as well as some embossing on my Coastal Cabana card with my Simply Scored Borders Plate:

Isn’t that a gorgeous color?!  Love it!  I hope you have a fabulous 4th….now we are off to celebrate!

Cassidy is mastering somersaults:

and you may notice her shorts are on backwards; that’s what happens when you let an almost-three-year-old go to the potty by herself!

DD59 & CCMC

DSCF6126
Happy Wednesday, everyone!  I have a quick card for you today using two challenges, Dynamic Duos 59 and Create with Connie & Mary SUM1301:
CCMC Summer Collection 13-001
I cheated a bit on the DD colors---I hope they don’t throw me out!  I used Basic Gray and Smoky Slate along with Midnight Muse!  I never have enough masculine birthday cards, so I inked up my new Rev Up the Fun set:

To make the sentiment stand out a bit more, I heat embossed it on top of the tire track!  I doubled up some Epic Day Washi tape for my striped banner…so easy to use!  And what a fun sentiment for the inside:

Good for any male, young or old!
I have a couple of little bird figurines on my porch, along with a candle lantern.  Cassidy thought it would be fun to give the birds a new home!

ColourQ196

DSCF6132-001
Happy Tuesday, peeps!  We are about washed out here in PA….rain, rain, rain…..almost every day and yesterday, just about ALL day!  I am not complaining, there are parts of the country that have it much worse than we do….but anyway, it’s sunny and dry at the ColourQ today:
Isn’t this a sweet Jim Shore patriotic angel?  It reminded me of one of my oldest SU sets, Country Angel.  Instead of making a card, I thought I’d make a little décor item, since I have LOTS of patriotic décor, and she would fit right in:
LeAnne_CQC196
I began by stamping my angel in Stazon on some lightweight watercolor paper, then simply used an Aquapainter and inks to color her in using the challenge colors.  I cut her out and mounted her on a Crumb Cake oval that had been stamped with a vintage checkerboard image and some white stars.  I added some popped-up stars from the same set and three banners.  Finally, I used an old SU block and stamped a Waltzingmouse sentiment on it (it bled a little, but that adds to the rustic look, right?), and then had DH drill a hole so I could add my little skewered angel.  This is also for the Ribbon Carousel Challenge 83, which is "showing your heritage" with ribbon, of course!   I added some ribbons to her skewer as well as her banner.   I bent her wings up a bit, too:
DSCF6135-001
I think she is pretty sweet!  What do you think?  Remember, if you have any questions, just shoot me an email….my address is at the top right sidebar!  I hope that this will tempt you to make a project with these colors---it doesn’t even have to be patriotic!  If you check out the designers’ samples at the ColourQ blog, you’ll see how some of them are not patriotic at all!  COOL!
I don’t have any Cassidy pictures today, but I do have blueberry-pickin’ pictures!  It cleared up enough on Sunday afternoon to pick about 35 pounds:

Into the freezer they’ll go….and on to our cereal all year long!  Yum!

Merry Monday July!

DSCF6119

Happy July 1, peeps!  It’s Monday and that means Merry MondayLesley is taking a wee bit of a break for July, and that means our challenge will be a wee bit different!  The linky will be open all month long for you to share your Christmas creations, and it’s “Anything Goes”!!!

She’ll be showcasing some Guest Designers as well, so make sure you check out her blog, Always Playing with Paper!

For my card, I chose to use the Festive Friday challenge 11 as my starting point:

I had several ideas swirling around in my head, but in the end, went with the trees from the retired set, Patterned Pines:

Merry Monday July - LeAnne 1

I stamped my trees in Garden Green, Wild Wasabi and Pear Pizzazz, then cut them out and mounted them on a scrap of woodgrain paper and mounted it on a piece of white Woodgrain embossed cardstock.  The little sentiment flag is from Market Street Stamps, the snowflake is from Itty Bitties:

I hope you’ll take some time to play with us and make one more Christmas card!  You’ll be glad you did!  And be sure to check out the other designers fabulous creations as well at Always Playing with Paper!

Can’t remember if I shared this photo Dana snapped or not:
