Stamp Ink Paper 75 Holiday Cheer

Hello again, everyone!  If you're looking for my Try Stampin on Tuesday post, it's here.

It's week three as a Stamp Ink Paper guest designer, and I am having a blast!  I love their challenges! Look at this gorgeous color combo:

One thing about being a demo for many years is that trends that faded away sometimes have a way of returning!  I still have copper embossing powder and Brushed Copper cardstock from way back when, so I pulled them out for this little number:

I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps as well as the inspiration photo from Inspired by All the Little Things:

and kept everything pretty simple so those pretty colors could shine through!  I used a bottle brush tree image from Papertrey (Joyful Christmas), stamped in Copper Encore and Pool Party inks on a square of white cardstock diecut with SU's Stitched Shapes dies:

I heat embossed the base of the tree as well as a star, which was popped up on a dimensional.  I also added some punched "ornaments" from a scrap of the Brushed Copper cardstock.  The sentiment (Verve's Joyous Noel) was also heat embossed and diecut with the same SU die set:

The vertical panel is a piece of Brushed Copper cardstock that was diecut on the edges with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders die.  And my sweet friend Jane from See Jane Stamp always uses her Papertrey Linen plate, which reminded me that I had one too....SOMEWHERE.  I found it by accident, so I used it to give my Pool Party base a little texture.  The plate has two sides, so I am not sure if this is the linen side or the canvas side...maybe someone can help me out (I think it's the canvas side!).  Finally, I heat embossed a sentiment from the same Verve set on the inside:

I hope you'll play along this week with our awesome color palette and be sure to stop by the Stamp Ink Paper blog to see the fabulous creations the DT made!!

Some more antics from Cassidy....doesn't everyone play the harmonica while lying on the kitchen floor as your grammy is trying to make dinner?

And she dressed herself today----picked out this outfit on her own----I choose my battles!  If she wants to wear florals and stripes, no big deal! At least she's color coordinated!  Enjoy your day!

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  It's time for another Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch....this week's option is a gatefold card!

I opted not to do the gatefold but instead concentrated on these lovely papers from Fancy Pants called Park Bench!  There's hardly any stamping on this at all:

I used various stitched dies to cut out my panels, then on the pale blue one, stamped some Tim Holtz florals:

I added some diecuts using the Flourish and Greetings thinlets, a punched flower, a couple of brads and some black and white baker's twine!

I think this is a most cheerful card!  I hope you'll play along too....check out what the DT created, and share you creation as well.  You can also play along on our Facebook page!

Cassidy has all week off for Thanksgiving break!  We were quite busy yesterday...first, we played Pictionary Junior for the first time, which was perfect for her because she is learning to read and she likes to draw! The only problem was that she likes to add embellishments and scenery to her pictures, so I was having difficult guessing her word!  But I did finally figure out this one when she gave me a hint:  it's something I don't like!  Can you guess what it is?

Yep, it was a skunk!  (Although I think it must have been an albino one!).  Enjoy your day!

MTS151 Giving Thanks

Happy Monday, peeps!  The countdown to Thanksgiving is on; Cassidy has off all week, so we'll be busy trying to keep her entertained!  I made one last Thanksgiving card using the Match the Sketch sketch for this week:

I pulled out some  retired Orchard Harvest DSP to make another shaker card, again with Jar of Love:

I cut the smallest jar from Crumb Cake cardstock, added some sequins and diecut leaves and a little wrap of baker's twine.  The sentiment from Basket of Wishes was perfect, stamped in Early Espresso!

Just for fun, I added some more baker's twine and a few more diecut leaves!

Thanks for looking in today!

Cassidy got a fish....here's Gilly, while he is waiting to have his bowl cleaned:

A lollipop is always helpful when fishing a fish out of its little temporary home!

The transfer was successful, I might add!  Enjoy your day!

Paper Players 322 Clean and Simple Christmas

Happy Sunday, all!  We have had a wonderful week weather-wise here in SE PA....but today, I believe winter will make a little visit!  It was so nice yesterday....cool, crisp and clear!  I can't remember  a November quite like this!  Anyway, it's Claire's turn to host the Paper Players and she has a Clean and Simple Christmas challenge!  I can always use one of them!

Because my image was on the small side, I chose to do a notecard!  Here we go:

My friend Martha gave me this little winter scene from Altenew; I actually have a larger one as well, from Artistic Outpost.  But I liked the small scale of this one; I stamped it in Dapper Denim on heavy white cardsotck, along with a sentiment from Amy R Stamps (Handy Christmas Greetings), then added some snowy glitter and a few random snowflakes:

The only other thing I did was to round the corner, just to give it a little interest!  Clean, simple, one layer, one color....can't get much easier than that!  Isn't that what stamping is all about?  I love embellishments and layers, but sometimes, just need stamps, ink and paper!

I hope you'll play along with us this week as you start your holiday stamping....or maybe you're already finished!  But we can always add one more to our stash, right?  Check out what the others on the DT did as well:
Some serious crayon time!

Enjoy your day!

MOJO474 Thankful for You

Wow, I am really behind the eight-ball today, totally forgot to post my card!  I needed another Thanksgiving card, so I put the sketch from Mojo Monday to use:

I used a piece of Kraft cardstock as a mat and added a scrap of Warmth & Cheer DSP at the top.  The main panel is a piece from a current Project Life kit on which I stamped a sentiment from a past Paper Pumpkin kit; in fact, all the main images are from Paper Pumpkin kits:

I stamped some speckles from Timeless Textures on the mat, as well as the grid on the Garden Green panel and the woodgrain on the little banner, which is from the Stitched with Love kit:

I also colored the green leaves a little "greener" with a GG marker so they would match my color scheme a bit better!  Finally, I added a diecut Crushed Curry leaf and topped it with some twine and an acorn from a Paper Pumpkin kit:

Cassidy brought this photo home from her recent field trip to the Whoa Nellie farm (I just LOVE that name!):

Giddyup and have a great day!

MM222, and Fusion Joy

Happy Friday, everyone!  Yay, it's the end of the week and the countdown to Thanksgiving begins!  There are just so many fun Christmas challenges out in the blog world, I am taking advantage of as many as I can!  I haven't played with Fusion for a long time, and the Merry Monday color challenge was just too cute to pass up:

I sort of combined all three challenges for my card today; it features an older, and sadly retired, Elzy Bells image:

I just love this little girl and her wee little bird....I stamped them in Stazon on heavy white cardstock and used my aquapainter and inks to color them in.  I diecut the smaller circle with SU's Stitched Shapes Framelits, and the larger one, in Silver Foil, with a Lil'Inker Stitched Circle die:

Of course I added some glitter snow!  And I used Papertrey's small alphabet to cut the "j" and "y" from Smoky Slate cardstock, and a Taylored Expressions snowflake in Silver Foil:

I am still on the fence about the washi tape behind the sentiment, but it's one of those things....once I've got those letters glued on, it is what it is!!!

We had a large crowd at our house Wednesday..my niece Jessie, who lives in SC, accepted a job in Seattle with Amazon!  How exciting!  She wanted to see all her cousins on her mom's side (my sister Gail) so they flew up and we had a big party!  There were 20 adults and 4 children....that's a lot of folks for my wee little house!   Here she is with my sister Joyce and Joyce's grandson Jamison:

And I can't believe that is the only picture we got of her all night!  It was rather noisy and chaotic!  I did snap this one earlier of my other niece Kelly (Joyce's daughter and Jamison's aunt) and Cassidy, trying to entertain Jamison....who already knows how to turn on his aunt's phone AND swipe at it to make the icons appear....these kids are too smart nowadays!!

And yes, Jamison has a wee bit of a shiner....he and a chair had a battle and the chair won!

Have a wonderful day!

CCMC432 and GDP062 Wetlands Birthday

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Today is John's birthday, so I have a masculine card to share with you!  It uses the sketch from the Global Design Project:
And the colors from Create with Connie & Mary:

CCMC432

I got the Wetlands set a while back and have never inked it up!  I thought this would be a good time!  I stamped the goose and sentiment in Night of Navy, then masked the goose and added some grass in Mint Macaron.  I did not get any of the copper foil sheets, but I had some Brushed Copper cardstock from waaaaaay back so I used that, as well as Copper Encore ink to add a few speckles:

I also had some copper metallic thread from way back, so I used that as well under my sentiment.  The final touch was to add some stamping around the outside of the Mint Macaron card base.  Very easy and simple card!

Cassidy made a card for Grampy, too.  Since Grampy likes deer, and I had just gotten some little deer dies, we cut some out of some kraft paper:

and she had a notion in her head (all by herself, too), to add some white gel pen accents:

She continued on, decorating her deer and drawing a field, sky and "clouds", then writing her own sentiment:  "Happy Deery Birthday to you, Grampy":

And check out all her little deer:

I guess she likes baby deer the most!!

Have a blessed day!
