Club Projects

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  My schedule is all out of whack, it's just been too busy around here!  Yesterday was club day and since I didn't have a chance to stamp something new, I thought I would share our projects!  The first one uses the Botanical Bliss stamp set and matching die, Botanical Tags.  I had an idea in my head about using the bird tag on a card without using it as a tag, so this is what I came up with:

The cardstock size is 4 1/4" x 7, and I partially scored it at 3 1/2" but didn't fold it.  I lined up the die so that the bottom cutting portion was along the score line, die-cut it and carefully popped out the pieces, then folded it so the diecut portion stood up.  It still fits into a standard-sized envelope.  We added some Share What You Love DSP, and stamped sentiments and elements on the inside:

We also colored rhinestones with Blends!  Our second project was an Apron of Love candy treat, which was a CASE from my friend, Cindy Brumbaugh.  You can see her wonderful YouTube tutorial here.  I tweaked mine a little, using some retired ribbon for straps; each person used whatever stamp they preferred from the Apron of Love set:

Thanks for popping in today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

January Club Projects

DSCF2592

Happy Friday, peeps!  We are waiting for some snow to arrive….it’s certainly been cold enough, maybe TOO cold?  Anyway, I thought I would show you the club projects my hostesses made this month featuring some spring mini products:

DSCF2591

This is actually a very simple card; we ran the Core’dinations Primrose Petals card through the Honeycomb EF and sanded it for a vintage look.  I used a sanding block from my husband’s shop, and a lint roller to clean up the little “shavings”!!  Worked like a charm!  The Collage Curios stamp set gave us a chance to practice with the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig as well as use those cute little Soda Pop Tops!  A doily cut in half adorns the top!

Our second project uses Oh, Whale! with the coordinating clear Sizzlets die as well as the Cloudy Day EF and Sunshine & Sprinkles DP:

And did you know that you can cut three layers of DP in one pass of the Big Shot?  We cut little squares of the polka-dotted Patterns paper, stacked them one on top of each other and cut out the little fishies!  Cute!

And finally, here is the gift I gave my hostesses:  a tin filled with little goodies, covered in Sunshine & Sprinkles DP and adorned with the flower from Decorate a Daisy, a leaf cut with the Autumn Accents Bigz Die (still available!!!) and a little pop top adorned with a lady bug from Itty Bitties:

These bright cheery colors remind me that despite our dreary skies, spring will be coming!  If you have any questions about anything shown here, just shoot me an email!

Party Projects

DSCF2205

Today I am sharing the projects we made at my Hostess Appreciation party!  Some had a Valentine theme, and I also highlighted some of the SU specials and SAB sets that will be coming out next week!

A Valentine card:

Two mini notecards using SAB goodies and the Borders scoring plate….we actually switched the embossing around to fit the images better!  These are just the samples!

And finally, using up some old magnet calendars my DH was going to throw away, we made a fridge magnet:

The photo can be slipped behind the diecut and changed for different events!  It used a new SAB embossing folder and the My Little Valentine set:

November Club Projects

DSCF0865-001

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Thought I would share with you what we made in our Hostess clubs this month.  But first, I wanted to show the little gift I made for my last hostess, Joan.  It’s a tin that I covered with some Natural Composition Specialty paper, then added some images from Day of Gratitude:

Inside was a bunch of little goodies I collected over the last month!  Fun stuff!

Our first project was a little peppermint mocha instant coffee gift holder:

Using the Two Tags die, I took a piece of 8 1/2 x  2 1/4” Marina Mist cardstock and folded it in half.  I placed it on the die with the fold just above the bottom of the tag and ran it through the Big Shot.  We wheeled it with the Jolly Jingles wheel, inked in Craft White, then added the Candy Cane from Scentsational Seasons stamped in Raspberry Ripple.  It is simply tied together, no adhesive necessary, with RR stitched ribbon.  A fun, easy project!

Next, we put pencils in the narrow cello bags and made a penguin topper with various punches.  I got the idea from Julie Davison and you can see hers here.

And finally, we made one of those cool folded star ornament/tags, and you can see a great video tutorial by Dawn Olchefske here.

I think everyone enjoyed making the projects!  Now I am looking forward to meeting some of my stamping friends tomorrow for a Holiday Card shoebox swap!  I am sure we’ll have some pictures to share!  And be sure to stop back to see my Paper Players card, and I am the hostess!!!  Thanks for visiting!

Cassidy is learning what “friends” are….she’s lined up her baby doll and her animals together because they are friends!

A Plethora of Projects

I wanted to share with you a few samples I’ve made with sets from the Summer Mini, as well as our club projects. Today I’m going to highlight The Open Sea. This is the project the club girls made for May; it’s called a Box Card; (or maybe it’s a Card Box, I don’t know!):

Folded shut, it fits in a standard medium-sized envelope; open, it can hold money or a gift card! I got the directions from Carol, but I made a few adjustments. I don’t have a scanner, so if you’d like directions, email me with your snail mail address, and I’ll send them to you!

Here are a few more samples as well:

I loosely cased Ann’s card here for this one:

And if I had a lick of sense, I would have remembered to write down the blog where I saw this cute frame made with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border:

DSCF6300

Edited to add: to make the frame for this card above, start with a 3x3" piece of cardstock. Punch the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch once on each side, making sure it is centered! Easy and impressive! Even though I love this set with the Nautical Expedition DP, I am itching to make something in colors OTHER than red & navy…..maybe next week! Thanks for visiting today!

Club Cards

DSCF0186

Thought I would share the two cards my hostess club members made this month. The first one featured the Framed Tulips embossing folder done as a square instead of a rectangle, and the silhouette image from Easter Blossoms:

DSCF0186-1

Edited to add: I learned to make the square embossed piece from my creative friend Donna at Butternut Sage. You can see a video of it here. We made a little “ruffle” of Newsprint DP at the bottom, and her basket was filled with Easter egg pearls!

The next one featured the Black Magic technique. A bold image was stamped in Craft white ink on Basic Black cardstock, then colored with SU colored pencils. This highlighted the SAB set Punch Bunch, the In Color Peach Parfait, and the Elegant Lines embossing folder:

I think everyone really enjoyed these; I know I did!
Be sure to stop back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!!!
