St Patrick’s Day Projects

DSCF1285

Phew, happy Friday, everyone!  This week needs to be OVER!  I am looking forward to some warmer temps this weekend!  Since my sister already received her little St Pat’s gift, I can share it with you now:

DSCF1280

This is another little altered Altoids tin, decorated with some vintage St Pat’s images I gathered from around blogland!  I have to admit that the inside of this one is not as well-done as I would have liked.  I need to color the edge of my cut images so they don’t show white; I really dislike that and I didn’t realize how bad it looked until I saw the photos.  Better next time!  Anyway, here is the inside:

I used some generic DP I had in my stash for the backgrounds, along with some green clover metallic decorations I had hanging around.  Since I had a dearth of St Patrick’s Day sentiments, I was wondering what to do….then I remembered I had a nice set on My Digital Studio, so I printed a few out and added them to the inside!  I had so much fun with them, I did a miniature collage and printed that out for the back of the tin:

I added some gold hearts and green rhinestones, just for fun, as well as overstamped it with the Linen background stamp (ret), just to give it some texture.  Then, I added a few more sentiments and enlarged it, printing it out on a standard piece of cardstock, and made a little collage poster to hang on my wall (well, it’s not hung, it’s actually tacked up with a couple of cheapie thumb tacks I had hanging around!!!):

DH actually commented on this….and he never notices ANYTHING like this!  I haven’t used MDS for a while, so it was fun to play around!  Thanks for visiting today!

ColourQ 209

DSCF8254

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Wow, it’s finally October!  I love this month!  Today’s inspiration photo from Arielle for the ColourQ is a real eye-opener!  What do you think?

I’d be a cheerful chick in the kitchen if I had this fun apron!  Speaking of which, I am finding I HAVE to use an apron in the kitchen lately…otherwise, what a slob I am!  Seriously!  I can’t tell you how many shirts I ruined over the last month!  So anyway, I went sort of literal, combining a buncha stuff for my card today:

I did use Coastal Cabana because I couldn’t find any Cool Caribbean cardstock, which really probably wouldn’t have mattered!  I used a plethora of stamps (see the list below), including My Digital Studio for the chicken wire background, which I printed in Pumpkin Pie!  My little scene was stamped in the challenge colors and put in a little polaroid window that I cut down a wee bit to fit!  I pinked my little “fabric scraps” and added my little chicken:

which I hope gave this card a down-home country feel!

And of course, after my card was all complete, I dropped my inky stamp onto the finished inside of the card, causing me to have to “piece” my sentiment!!!  Oh well!  Still worked out okay!

I couldn’t wait to see what the design team created with these colors, and you won’t be disappointed either!  Be sure to hop on over to the ColourQ blog to see what they did and share your creation with us too!
A few weeks ago I picked up some of Cassidy’s toys and had put them in a big tote in the basement.  JOY is finding your little phone again:

LOL—I know the picture is blurry, but it almost looks like she has stars in her eyes….and she is so excited, it cracks me up!  Enjoy your day---hopefully yours will be exciting too!

Paper Players 154

DSCF6484

Happy Sunday, peeps! I hope you are having a great weekend, and everyone returning from convention had a great time!  Today, Jaydee has a great sketch for the Paper Players and for YOU:

Woohoo, I love this……a great way to use some beautiful DPs!  I chose to use the balloons from Birthday Basics, because I hadn’t used it yet and I love all those fun colors!  Alas, I had no birthday cake stamp, so I went to My Digital Studio for some help!

Paper Players 154 LeAnne Pugliese MDS Cake and Ice Cream

The Cake and Ice Cream brush set that came with my MDS had a fun cake and party hats, so I printed out the cake in Raspberry Ripple, and the hats in Bermuda Bay and Gumball Green:

DSCF6487

Of course, I had to add some “flame” and sparkle to the cake, hats  and candles!  And a quick little ribbon accent to my sentiment flag!  There is a wee bit of stamping…the sentiment is from the retired set, Happiest Birthday Wishes!  I am happy to add this to my birthday card stash, as it is always being depleted!

So now, it’s your turn to play with the sketch and share it with us at the Paper Players as well!  I think I see a few more cards using this sketch in my future!  Can’t wait to see what you create with it!

Two CAS Cards

DSCF4019

A couple quick cards to share today….I’m on my way to Regionals!  I cannot tell you how ridiculously happy this card makes me….it’s silly, really.  It is my first totally My Digital Studio card:

DSCF4018

It is certainly nothing fancy, but I just love it.  I can see where I would improve it the second go-round, but for now, in the still-learning stage, I’m happy!

The second CAS card is for CAS(E) this Sketch for this week

Here’s the sketch:

I actually broke out some washi tape I hadn’t had the nerve to use yet---LOL!   This is also for the Raise the Bar challenge 139, which is to use a door, key or house image on your creation:

DSCF4015

I used a little house diecut, cut twice from pinky papers along with a sweet little green birdie!  And the “home tweet home” sentiment seemed appropriate!  Have a blessed day!  Any questions about my products….shoot me an email!

Mojo287

DSCF3744-001

Happy Friday, peeps!  I haven’t played with the Mojo Monday sketch for a looong time, so I thought I should remedy that!  Here’s the sketch:

I needed a little boy baby card and I was just itching to use these fun papers from MME:

DSCF3743

I flipped the sketch on the side to make it work a little better for my little car!  This baby’s extended family is VW-crazy!  It’s a large family and there are probably 10-12 VWs!!!  So I found this snappy little car in my MDS (On the Go), printed it in red, and snipped it out!  The banner is from Itty Bitty Banners; I mounted it on some Gumball Green cardstock and hand-cut a mat for it, anchoring it to the little car with some twine:

DSCF3745

I added some fun papers on the inside as well, and included a sentiment from Friendly Phrases:

DSCF3746

This just makes me smile with these fun, cheerful colors!  Thanks for visiting today!

If you close your eyes, it makes the person telling you to pick up your toys disappear, right?

ColourQ183

DSCF3694

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Whee…..back go the temps, down, down, down….I think we are going to skip spring altogether this year, just go from winter to summer!  But hopefully after seeing Arielle’s sweet color inspiration today, you’ll feel like spring!  What do you think:

It took me about two years to warm up to Blushing Bride, and now I am so sad that it has retired!  I still have some scraps of DP and cardstock, so I thought the sketch from Retrosketches would be a perfect fit:

So here we go:

LeAnne_CQC183

And GUESS WHAT????!!!!  I actually used My Digital Studio for part of this card!  Yahoo!  At the reduced price of $19.95, I broke down and got it, and I have been having fun playing with it!  I love that you can resize your images and sentiments….and that’s what I did with this little “hello” speech bubble!  I have only begun to scratch the surface of all the benefits of it.  (My only sadness is that they don’t have Soft Sky or Cool Caribbean….maybe if I whine enough, they’ll add them!  Cranberry Crisp would be nice, too!)  This is a great sketch to use up DP scraps!!!   I cut mine down to 1” wide, then played around until I got the length I liked and added 1/8” for the mats.  The heart is from the owl punch; the owl is from the Itty Bitties, and the sentiment is from the MDS set called Celebrate Any Day.

I hope you’ll play along with these lovely springy colors…I know you’ll enjoy them as much as I did!  Share your project with us at the ColourQ blog where you’ll also see what the designers made too!  Can’t wait!

Several of you had information on the embossing folder on this card I shared with you from my friend Doris on Sunday—thank you so much!  It is made by Darice, and if you look in the comments screen, a couple people mentioned where to find it as well as the name of it.  Thanks for the info as well as the interest!  I’ll be getting mine soon!

My First MDS

DSCF9478

Ever since my Paper Players bloggin’ buddy Cindy posted on her blog that you don’t need the entire My Digital Studio program to use the downloads, I have been toying with the idea of buying a couple, just to try them out.  My fear was that I am not too computer-savvy when it comes to coloring images and I knew I didn’t want to just print things out in black all the time!  She gave me some hints about using the Paint program, and although some of the brush sets do not work in Paint, I have been able to play around a little and actually printed out one of the images from the Old Saint Nick set to make this card:

DSCF9477

Pretty simple, but I wasn’t going for complex at this stage of the game!  I did have some issues with getting the RGB value to match the Cherry Cobbler cardstock; it is probably my printer, which is soon-to-be discarded.    I had some leftover skinny pieces of the Glimmer Silver cardstock that I placed behind my panel and I used a little punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to add a bit of zing to the center of the embossed snowflake.  I have more to learn about My Digital Studio, but I was at least happy to have one project under my belt!
