TO275 Life is Short

Happy Thursday, peeps! The Time Out Challenge this week is a fun one, and it gave me a chance to use a set I hadn't gotten inky yet, along with some dies that hadn't seen any action yet!  Here's the challenge:

I had gotten this What's Cookin' stamp from Taylored Expressions a while ago, so I pulled it out, along with its matching dies and another die set called Bake Me Happy.  I had some fun baking-related papers so I mixed and matched them all together to create this:

I have a friend whose birthday is coming up, and she is an excellent cook, so this will be for her.  I tried to match the colors to the little mixers on the paper; I used Poppy Parade, Garden Green, Crushed Curry and Bubble Bath.  The beater is a scrap of silver foil, and I stamped a little flower on the bowl:

This sentiment just cracks me up; she likes humorous cards, so I hope she'll like it too!

Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI335 Thinking of You Tag Collage

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  The As You See It Challenge is a recipe, and although I had an idea in my head for it, it sort of morphed into something else! Here's the recipe prompt:

This is a great "recipe" for a fall card! I recently ordered some goodies from Unity and they sent me a nice little brown paper bag full of goodies to play with! I promptly put some of them to work on my card:

The orange-hued paper was my starting point (from Unity!); I mounted it on a Crumb Cake card on which I embossed two little lines of cross stitching.  The paper bag (again from Unity) was cut into a tag, stamped with a sentiment, and embossed with the Dashing Designs embossing folder.  I added a second tag, punched from a Pecan Pie piece of cardstock that was stamped with a tag stamp from Close to My Heart.

The gold metallic leaf was also from Unity; I anchored it with a retired glimmer brad. There are acetate elements on the tag and behind it to add to the fall feeling! Finally, a bit of brown gingham ribbon to finish it off.

This might become a sympathy card, or maybe a birthday card....I'll add an inside sentiment when I need it!  I haven't done one of these collage-style cards in a while, so it was fun to pull some interesting pieces together!  Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Framed Joyful Images

Happy Monday, peeps! I was experimenting with the frame die that comes with the Gone Fishing dies; I thought it might make a good frame for some postage-stamp-style images, but even before I started thinking about what stamps to use, I realized that some of the images from the Joyful Images Ephemera Pack would be really easy to plop in there!  So here we go:

I cut a frame from Garden Green cardstock and trimmed off the little tabs that are on the side, then adhered it to a Basic White card.  I adhered images from the Ephemera pack around the frame, and die cut one more inner piece from a scrap of white on which to stamp the sentiment from Peaceful Season.  I added the remainder of the sentiment, "a season of wonder and happiness" on the inside.

So then, I had five diecut pieces from the inside of the frame, and I thought I could use them for another card:

I sponged some ink around the edges to give them a little depth, added some glimmer ribbon and bows and a sentiment from More Wishes.  A couple of red and green sequins finished it off!  Easy peasy!

Our church had its annual Harvest Party, and the weather was perfect!  We had a bonfire, roasted hot dogs, went on a hayride and made freshly-pressed apple cider!  Dana and the family couldn't make it this year, but I did see these little punkins:

Maven and her cousin Piper!

Sawyer helping feed the apples into the apple press!  Just look at all those apples below!

A hayride is more fun in the dark!

Thanks for visiting today, enjoy it and be blessed!

PP713 A Sketch from Ann

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Ann is our Paper Players hostess this week and it's sketch week! I love sketches! I could just create and create and create the week we have a sketch challenge, LOL!  In fact, I did make two cards!  So here's the sketch:

It is definitely feeling like sweater weather here in PA, so I pulled out some "sweatery" embossing folders and went to work:

My inspiration came from Inspired By; they have a warm, cozy prompt this week:

I created some pine cones with Early Espresso and copper glimmer paper and mounted them on a Crumb Cake panel that was embossed with the Timber embossing folder.  I added a scalloped mat of Very Vanilla and a Crumb Cake stitched ribbon trim:

I used Tangelo Twist with the Cable Knit embossing folder and Mossy Meadow with a Cozy Knit embossing folder from Fun Stamper's Journey, then created a sentiment from Choose Happy and Peaceful Season, diecut with the Labels Aglow die:

The inside was left blank for an appropriate occasion stamp!  The next one is a masculine one, using Gone Fishing and some scraps of DSP I found in my stash:

I stamped and diecut the elements using Blueberry Bushel, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Gray Granite as my colors, then embellished them with some Matte dots and Stylish Stitched mats:

I heat-embosssed a birthday sentiment from Best Family Ever on a Blueberry Bushel diecut and added a diecut zigzag border as well!

This is a great sketch and a good one to use up some of those narrow strips of DSP we always have laying around!  I hope you'll play along with us at the Paper Players! Be sure to check out what the DT created over at the blog as well!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

RRCB242 Grateful Heart

Happy Friday, everyone! The weekend is ahead, and it's a busy one for us, so I'll make this quick!  The Retro Rubber challenge is to make a fall card and since October is Pastor Appreciation month, AND it's almost over, I thought I'd better get to creating something for our pastor!

My pastor likes things PLAIN!!  Which is a challenge when you're a card-maker, as we want to add all kinds of doodads on our cards!  So this card is kind of plain but I did add some colors and patterns that kept to a fall theme:

I used the retired Stitched Leaves dies to cut out this pretty leaf; my papers are from Simple Stories and Authentique.  The sentiment is from Banner Year from 2020.  I used oval punches to punch it out, and I added another wee little maple heart from Itty Bitties, which I've had since 2013!  I actually made another card before this one, changing the orientation of the leaf and adding a woven linen knot, but it didn't look quite right, so I made another one!  What do you think?

The inside sentiment is from Little Delights, from 2021.  I love the font in this one!

Thanks for popping in today! Gotta go make a pumpkin roll!  Enjoy the day and be blessed!

IC179 Golden Greenery for Fall

Happy Thursday, peeps! I really like the sketch from Inspire.Create this week, and I had the idea to use the Golden Greenery stamp set in fall colors!  Here's the sketch:

I stamped and diecut several pieces from the bundle and arranged them like so:

The plaid strip is from some retired DSP, and the grosgrain is retired also.  I tucked in a few little stamped and punched leaves from the retired Beautiful Autumn, and the sentiment is from the same set.  A few gold embellishments gave it a little pizzazz:

Finally, a birthday sentiment from Simply Said combined with another sentiment from Beautiful Autumn went on the inside:

I struggled a bit with this set when I first received it, but I can see the versatility of it now!  I am also going to add this to the Krafty Chicks challenge of All Occasions this week!  Thanks for popping in today!

Yesterday I showed a picture of Maven; today, Sawyer gets top billing:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Tis the Season

Happy Wednesday, peeps! It is a crazy week for me and I feel like I haven't had much time to stamp!  So I thought I'd post one of the cards we made at our stamp camp on Monday night; this little guy is so cute, I had to  share him:

This set is from Unity and it's called Tinsel Antics!  He was stamped in Versafine black ink, then watercolored with Pecan Pie ink and Real Red and Garden Green markers.  We added some sequins for sparkle:

and some swirly stamping around the outside of the card.  The Iconic Imagery dies were used for both sentiments, outside and in:

And speaking of a cutie, check out my 8-month-old great niece Maven; you may be able to tell that she is Jameson and Sawyer's little sister, maybe by the ginger hair?? The face?  The grin?

I could just eat her up!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC600 Joy & Love to You

Happy Monday, peeps! Tonight is Christmas card stamp camp so I am going to make this short and quick!  I love this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch; it's a riff on my favorite sketch!  The dimensions are just a wee bit different but I love it just the same!  Here we go:

I love these vintage-style designs in the Sentimental Christmas papers; these candles are reminiscent of designs from when I was a kid!  I paired it with some retired gingham and added some red glimmer trim:

The strip is some CTMH glimmer tape; the bow is a diecut from the retired Pierced Blooms.  The sentiment is from the new Peaceful Season bundle:

The inside sentiments are from the same set! So versatile!

I hope you'll play along with us this week...it's an easy sketch!  We can't wait to see what you create with it!

So this look is a wee bit different than the last pictures of Cassidy I shared:

She went to Homecoming at her friend's school; no heels allowed in the gym, so they got matching sneakers! I don't understand that "look" but she sure looks grown-up here!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP712 Tag, You're It!

Happy Sunday, peeps! I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week!  It's Clean-and-Simple week and the theme is TAGS!

Adding a tag to your creation is so fun....there are lots of dies and punches out there to make it easy, and even if you don't have any of those, it's still a snap to do!  I actually made two cards because the first one didn't really seem CAS enough, LOL!  So let's see what I did create:

I have almost as many Halloween products as I do Christmas, so I always try to give my older stamps (and papers) some love!  These papers were from way, way back; I used the Bonanza dies to cut out a tag, then stamped a couple of images on them to create my spooky tag!  I added some mesh ribbon and twine as well as a sparkly black brad!  It all went on a Very Vanilla panel that was embossed with the Dotted Circles embossing folder:

Another real oldie for the inside:

And here's the one that didn't make the CAS cut:

I printed and diecut a digital vintage postcard from my saved images (not sure where this came from; maybe Olde Design Shoppe or the Graphics Fairy) and mounted it on another Bonanza die.  This time I added a little panel at the top from The Greetery, along with one of their Halloween sentiments and banners:

The banner is movable so that it can go into the envelope easily and then be moved outward to display the card and the rest of the tag image.  Love that starry witch!  I used a past Paper Pumpkin set to stamp the inside:

I think I will enter this over at Just Us Girls; they have a mood board and that vintage image on the left makes me think of a vintage postcard!

I will soon be putting away all my Halloween stamps so this may be the last card for that holiday you'll see!  I hope you'll play along with my tag challenge...just remember to keep it clean and simple!  Minimal layers, stamps and embellishments will fit the "tag"!  Share your creation with us at the PP blog and while you're there, check out what the other team members made as well!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy's school had a Rhyme without Reason day; her friend dressed up as a hacker and Cassidy was a rapper:

I hope she didn't leave that "bling" on her teeth all day, LOL!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
