CQC148 – Lazy Stamping

DSCF5742
Hello peeps!  It’s Tuesday---the last day of July, oh my!  And that means ColourQArielle has a fun palette today…check out this cutie:
cqc148
Sweet!  What a fun little bag this is! Even though my cold is getting much better (thank you, everyone, for the get-well wishes!), I decided to go really, really CAS with some cardstock and my Postage Stamp punch for a bold graphic look:

I added sentiments from Petite Pairs and popped them up.  Even though it is ultra-CAS, I still love this look!  So much so, that I made another, same layout, but I used polka dotted DP and a different set of sentiments.  I need several thank you cards, so I thought I might as well begin with these:

I hope you’ll check out the ColourQ blog to see what the other girls have come up with….it’s AMAZING what they have done with these colors---just gorgeous creations!  I hope to see YOUR creation there too!  Be sure to come and play along!
I have been making my own tomato sauce with bounty from our garden, which is just wonderful because Cassidy loves spaghetti! She has a little trouble getting those slippery strands to her mouth, however:

SCCC35 and SCH22

 DSCF5719

Happy Monday, peeps!  I survived the weekend with this nasty summer cold, I hope no one else out there is suffering from it…DH is still down & out!  I mustered some strength to make some Christmas cards after seeing the Weekly Christmas Card Challenge #35 – No Stamping; and the Sugar Creek Hollow Challenge 22, which was to make a shabby, vintage Christmas card!  Comin’ right up!

I mixed up some vintage Christmas papers with a Santa chipboard tag for this card:

Since there was no stamping, the hardest part was (after choosing papers!) making the shabby bow and glittering up my little greenery:

 DSCF5720

And since I already had the papers out, I made another one with the leftovers, and just added a little scalloped border and a vintage sticker:

 DSCF5716

I snipped out the bottom part of the fishtail banner and brought it to the top!

What fun cards to create and now I have two more for my stash!  Have a great Monday, and be sure to stop back for tomorrow’s ColourQ!

Building a tower is serious business!

Paper Players 106 with FMS45

 DSCF5711-001
Happy Sunday, peeps!  I hope you are ready to have fun with our latest Paper Players challenge:  Tac Tac Toe!  Choose any three of these techniques going across, up & down or diagonally, to make your creation!
For my card today, I chose to go straight across the middle with blue, dry embossing and masculine!  I also used the current sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:
I have to admit that I was inspired by Carol’s card that I chose as my Top Pick yesterday.  You can see it here.  However, I wish I had used Midnight Muse just as she did, because this Pacific Point is just a tad too bright for me.  However, my mojo has sailed off to sea along with this ship, due to a nasty chest cold that is plaguing my entire family, so I just didn’t have the oomph to do it over!
PP106-LeAnne
I really wanted to shabby everything up since this is sort of a vintage-style image from The Open Sea, but I resisted so it would qualify for the FMS; the only thing I succumbed to was to add the water spot image from French Foliage to the anchors on the background!!  I stamped the ship’s log image on the new wide cotton ribbon that will be available August 1 and added a neutral button with some twine.  The Woodgrain embossing folder is also new and available on August 1!  I heat embossed the ship, which you might be able to see here, but probably not; you’ll just have to take my word for it!
DSCF5712
All in all, the man in my life to whom this will go will not be concerned that I used Pacific Point instead of another blue, so I won’t be either!  I hope you can play with this fun challenge as well and show us your stuff over at the Paper Players blog!
How fun it is to sit in the rocks and throw them in Grampy’s watering cans!

Little Gifts

 DSCF5690

Yippee skippe!!  It’s Friday and I have the day off---I am heading to Lancaster, PA, for the Creating Keepsakes convention and will be meeting up with a blog friend!!!  Can’t wait!  Here’s a little something I made for her and her friends, using my new goodies from the mini catalog that arrived just in the nick of time:

 DSCF5691

I just covered the front of a spiral-bound notebook with some Orchard Harvest DP, stamped and diecut my images and slipped it in a cello bag topped with a cute little topper!

If you have any questions, shoot me an email (don’t leave a question in the comment box, I may not be able to answer it there)!  Have a blessed day!

We had a major storm last night (that’s why the chairs are turned down) and before it arrived, we hopped out on the porch to get some cool air---and do some dancing!

DSCF5641-001

Just a quick post today as I need to be out the door! I squeaked in some stamping time yesterday using the SCS Sketch Challenge sketch #395 and am also entering it in the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge 128, which is a beach theme!

And here is my card:

The image was stamped on watercolor paper and colored with an aquapainter and reinkers!  If you have any questions, just shoot me an email!!!

Holiday Silhouette

DSCF5639 Just squeaking in with a quick post for my weekly Christmas card!  We made this card last night at my Christmas in July stamp camp and everyone really liked it!

DSCF5640

Dasher is stamped in Baja Breeze on textured Very Vanilla and then embossed with the Oval Designer Frame.   The card base is River Rock and I used some retired SU Christmas paper.  The Two Tags diecut is wheeled with the Music Notes wheel, too…what a pretty background it makes!  Enjoy!

CQC147

 DSCF5624

Happy Tuesday, little fishies!  Look at this SWEET inspiration Arielle has for us all today at the ColourQ:

cqc147

Man, I wish I had some fishy stamps!!  Isn’t this adorable!  I had to make do with a little tiny fish stamp from PTI’s Tiny Treats Valentine set:

DSCF5623

I colored them with Copics, added a little sparkle here and there, and used SU’s new Fancy Fan embossing folder for the background.  My layout is based loosely on the iSpy Sketches sketch for this week:

And I had to make just one little fish march to the beat of a different drum:

 DSCF5625

I just LOVE the combo….I wish I had time to make a few more cards with it, and I hope you love it enough to participate with the other CQC designers!  Be sure to pop over to the ColourQ blog to play along, see the samples, and see who Arielle added to the design team!  SO excited to have her with us!

I think I have a little monkey on my hands:

SCH21 Vintage Baseball

DSCF5609

Happy Monday!  It’s VBS week so I doubt I’ll have too much time for stamping/blogging this week!   I did have a fun time over the weekend making this vintage card for Sugar Creek Hollow’s challenge 21, which is all about sports.  I rummaged around in my digi image file and found some old baseball card images, I believe from the Graphics Fairy, to make my creation:

 DSCF5607

I pulled out some Basic Grey scraps, printed off a cool vintage baseball cap image from the net,  and stamped some miscellaneous Americana images, as I really have NO sports stamps:

DSCF5609-001

and I even made a little baseball player chipboard piece, printing him on some DP and mounting him on three pieces of cardboard, coloring the edges with a black marker:

 DSCF5608

Oh boy, this was fun to make….a bit time-consuming to figure out what to put where, but it’s nice to have a masculine card on hand for a birthday!

Enjoy your day and be sure to come back tomorrow to see the ColourQ challenge!!!

Paper Players 105

  DSCF5597

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It’s time for another Paper Players challenge, with Jaydee as our lovely hostess.  She’s got a fabulous, clean, easy sketch for us today!  What do you think:

Since I still had my Birds of a Feather DP on my desk from yesterday’s card, I challenged myself to use a pattern from it that I would not normally use.  I LOVE birds, but quails haven’t quite reached my favorite list.  They don’t come to my feeder, I’ve never seen one in real life….you get my drift.  But these little ones were kind of cute, so I paired it with a couple other sets as well as some Patterned Neutral DP, to make this:

DSCF5596

Let’s see…..I used mats of Summer Starfruit and Island Indigo; the sentiment is from Blessings from Heaven (what a wonderful set!); the leaves are from Summer Silhouettes; and the circular image is from Decorate A Daisy!  I layered that above a naked chipboard flower, just coloring it softly with some Crumb Cake ink along the edges.  A little snippet of ribbon tied with some linen thread and a pearl-embellished heart I had laying on my desk finished it off.

 DSCF5598

I also made this card using the little scrap I “tested” my leaves on…..do you ever do that, use a scrap of paper to try out what a color or stamp will look like before you actually make your final creation?  It just looked so serene, so after stamping the floral image and a sentiment, I added it to a note-card sized card in Bashful Blue, which has been sadly neglected since Baja Breeze made the scene:

DSCF5599

Love it!  Now lets see what you can do with Jaydee’s sketch!  Flit on over to the Paper Players blog where you will be able to see the fabulous creations of the designers for this week!  Hope to see you there too!

Feeling just a tad bit better (and jumping on Grammy’s couch---which is really a no-no!):
